In the seventies and the eighties Ipswich where a top team in England and Europe beating the likes of Barcelona and Real This is my first attempt at a story and my aim of this save is to return The mighty Tractor-boys back into europe's elite.

Ipswich Town fans are today in complete surprise today as it was announced that Mick McCarthy and Ipswich Town have parted company. McCarthy who took over the Then bottom of the Championship Ipswich in November 2012 saved the club from relegation and finishing in a comfortable 14th position. However with rumors of fans becoming disgruntled at Micks long ball tactics and Marcus Evans ambition of returning Ipswich Town to the Premier League. McCarthy and Ipswich held unknown talks this morning and the club recently issued this statement. "After careful consideration and meeting with Mick. Ipswich Town Fc and Mick McCarthy have decided to part company with immediate effect. We would like to put our thanks on record to Mick McCarthy and wish him well for the future".

Several names are been linked with the club with the bookies favorite been Alan Curbishley. however both sides are keen to stress no talks have started. A surprise candidate has arose however in the past few minutes linking unknown and newly qualified coach and lifelong Ipswich fan Alistair Thomas as an outside contender.
Ipswich Unveil New Manager

In a shock appointment Unknown Manager Alistair Thomas has been unveiled as the new man to take Ipswich Forward "we are delighted to announce bright and upcoming manager Alistair Thomas has agreed to take the reigns of the club" said owner Marcus Evans he further went on to say " Alistair is a bright new young hungry manager who we believe is the right man to take the club forward".

With the surprise new appointment many Ipswich fans have taken to the message board to state that even though they are surprised and a bit disappointed that a manager with previous experience of managing a club has not been appointed they will back the new man in charge from the start.

In his first Press conference as Ipswich Town manager Alistair Thomas said " it was a dream come true to be named manager of a club he has followed all his life and is looking forward to bringing success to the club".

When asked about Ipswich's Recent performances and where he expects the club to finish at the end of the season Alistair stated "Ipswich have been stuck in a bit of a rut recently finishing mid-table too often and he believed he could guide the club to a top half finish this season". in terms of contract the manager has been given a 1 year contract.
