Arsene Wenger's 18 Year Reign Comes to an End

Arsene Wenger will go down as one of the greatest legends at Arsenal Football Club. However his resignation has taken longer than many fans have wanted, with them becoming increasingly frustrated with the direction their club is currently going. One of Wenger's most passionate critiques, Piers Morgan, has been making his feelings felt this week, and todays news will certainly bring a smile to his face.

However, the big job for the Board at Arsenal is to find a suitable replacement to bring the Club the glory they once achieved. Many feel bringing an ex-professional from the 'glory years' will be the right move, as it will spark a revival; favourites being the likes of Vieria and Bergkamp. However, high profile managers such as Guardiola are also supposedly on the radar.
I bet Piers Morgan applies for the job haha :P
Clement, 42, has been Carlo Ancelotti’s right-hand man during the Italian’s successful spells at Stamford Bridge, Paris Saint Germain and Madrid, and is widely regarded as one of the best coaches in world football.

The Englishman has never held the top job at any club, but his pedigree working with some of the world’s top players during his time in France and Spain is likely to appeal to the Gunners.
Many Arsenal fans are reported to be ecstatic with the decision to go for an individual used to coaching the best teams in the footballing world. However, others are said to be sceptical due to the fact he has never held the position of Manager before. Whatever the opinions, it is certain Clement will need to impress in the First season to prove he is cut out for the managerial position. He will also be judged on signings, and the job of strengthening the current defence will be of high importance.
A new manager who has a lot of potential and has had his name mentioned for a few jobs recently, including Arsene Wenger stating that Clement would be the man. A good start to the story. Good luck for the upcoming season.
Hmmm, interesting choice. I've never considered him as Arsene's successor before. Good luck :)
Good luck with this!

Clement Begins the Rebuild of Arsenal's Defence

Arsenal's defence has come under much scrutiny in the past 5 years, with many wanting to see more world class players being brought into the defence who are tough to play against. Clement has already told the press that one of his first jobs will be trying to strengthen the defence as much as possible, however, there was a suggestion it would not be the finished product in only the first season.

News has reached Sky Sports that Clement has already brought 2 defenders into the Arsenal set up. Reaction amongst Arsenal fans is tremendous, as it says Clement is a manager who will get his business done, something which Wenger was often criticised for.

The first player that Clement has brought into the squad is Adriano from Barcelona for £13 million. He has also let Monreal, a player brought in by Wenger who failed to impress, go to Monaco for £7.5 million.'Adriano is not the youngest of players, but he is extremely talented, and still has a good 5 years in front of him' stated Clement. 'He is a hard working, and technically brilliant player, and fits into this squad perfectly'. 'A left back was needed as Gibbs is an extremely talented player, but one I see for the future, and for Arsenal to rise quickly a new left back was needed.'

The second player to enter Arsenal's refurbished defence is Leonardo Bonucci, brought in from Juventus for £23 million. Clement told Sky Sports 'He is currently one of the most talented centre backs in the world. He gives us a greater presence in defence, and teams will not like the new association of toughness when facing Arsenal. Not only is he a 'beast' he is also extremely tactically aware, playing in defences of 3, 4, and 5. He is technically outstanding, as is the case with most Italian defenders. This signing is exciting'

Clement has revealed that he felt it was important to bring defenders in who are used to playing for the best clubs in the world, something he felt was missing entirely from Arsenal's defence. He felt this would bring more faith to the defence, with better performances being produced.

Arsenal Snap Up England’s Best Young Talent

Arsenal were known for many years as the ‘foreign’ team, with a severe lack of home grown English players. This has improved slightly over the years, however Clement has made sure there is a greater presence of English players in his ‘future’ squad, something he may feel is important due to his English Nationality. Clement is likely to make these players the types of players he wants them to be, due to them being so young, and with them being the most talented youngsters around it is frightening how good they could become.

The first of these players is Josh Murphy who has joined Arsenal from Norwich for £9.75 million. Murphy is a talented left winger, and at the age of 19 looks to have a magnificent career ahead of him. He is known to be one of the quickest players around, and this may certainly have caught Clement’s attention, as he is known to be able to fine tune parts of players game, but pace is not something that can be changed.

The second is the Derby star, Will Hughes. Will has started to become very well known, with him becoming one of the stars of the Championship. He is a technically superb player, who prefers to play in the centre of the park. He is a typical Arsenal player, someone who has a great first touch and can ping the ball where he wants. Arsenal have signed him for £8 million, but Derby have loaned him out for the rest of this season.
Some nice signings mate, looking forward to the start of the season
good signings but i think you overpaid for adriano whose 30 yrs old. i would've gone for someone younger. even josh murphy yes a talent but for £9.75m i think you could have got him for a lot less than that
Good signings, do think Adriano might have been a mistake and Josh Murphy was a classic example of overpaying for the English. However you're the manager and as an Arsenal fan, you've got my backing.. for now :D

Best of luck, will be following
Some big signings, I hope they fit in well!
