FK Zemun- My Starting Point

Season 2017
After finishing fourth and gaining a spot in the Asian Champions league qualifications I started to prepare myself for the next season. I made 4 signings,bringing in WBR,DC,AML and a DL! I played a couple of friendly matches and everything looked great before the start of the season. In the meantime I got my National A License and asked the board to fund my Continental C License but they refused due to a lack of funds. My season started of with a match against Osotpa(Thailand) in the qualifications for the Asian Champions League. I managed an easy 2-0 win in Thailand and I qualified for the Asian Champions League group stage where I was drawn with Jeonbuk(Korea),Nagoya(Japan) and Arema(Indonesia)! I lost at home 2-1 against Jeonbuk but I made a sensation with a 3-2 win over Nagoya in Japan. In the meantime I started the Chinese Super League terribly with a 4-1 defeat against Rehne. After that came an away 4-3 win in the Champions League against Arema and things looked brightly regarding my pass to the knockout stage. However in the next game at home against Nagoya I suffered a humiliating 7-4 defeat. Things in the league didnt go any better as I lost against Liaoning and Guangzhou,and managing a win over bitter rivals Shenhua and Dalian Aerbin. The last 2 games in the Champions League were more of a friendly matches since I pretty much didnt have any chances of going through due to Nagoya having much better goal difference than me. So I lost 6-0 to Jeonbuk in Korea but managing to win at home against Aram 3-1.

After getting knocked out of the Champions League I could focus totally on the Chinese Super League. I made amazing results in the continuing of the season managing 9 wins in 12 matches,only losing to Beijing 2-1 and to Liaoning 2-0 and a draw with Changchun 2-2. I also managed to win in the FA Cup against Tianjin 4-1.

In the meantime my board decided to make the club a feeder club to the Dutch AZ Alkmaar. So I had to play a friendly match against them which I won 1-0.

In the Quarter finals of the FA Cup I won against Jiangsu 5-0 which was a pretty convincing win. After that my team got into a crisis losing 3 games,drawing 1 and winning 1. I also lost in the semi finals of the FA Cup against Beijing,4-5 in Beijing and at home I had the lead 2-1 until the 93rd minute of the match just to concede and get kicked out... The final of the season went brilliantly getting 7 wins in 9 matches.I finished the season at the 3rd place which guaranteed me a place in the Asian Champions League. I won the Manager of the Year in China second year in a row.
