MAY UPDATE

“My best day in management” – Zinedine Zidane

Results

What a historic month for this club. Some incredible performances, that will never be forgotten. Nobody expected us to overcome the mighty Barcelona when the draw was made, despite beating Bayern and Real Madrid previously in the competition.

The first half against Barcelona was a tightly contested fourty five minutes. Both sides had chances, none clear cut though. Barcelona looked strong going forward but rather shaky at the back. I saw an opportunity for us here. In the second half I sent the boys out, telling them this was our chance. They did not let me down. Four goals without a reply put is in a firm driving seat to make it to the final. The lads were excellent, McGeady and Fischer dominated Alba and Alves, and they could not handle them.

When we returned to the Premier League we secured the Premier League title. We were excellent that day and we made history that will never be forgotten.

Then return leg against Barcelona was a long ninety minutes for us. Four first goals meant it was level on aggregate and the game was all to play for me. We knew one away goal would all but seal the game for us, we kept fighting and remained positive. It was not long before Aiden got the goal, putting it to 5-4 on aggregate. From here on in we were resilient and defended very well to keep them at bay. We held on and secured a play in the final to play Chelsea. The players were ecstatic, now we have a real chance of completing a famous treble.

Aiden McGeady starred again in our victory over Middlesbrough, the game was not very lively but that did not stop celebrations on the pitch at full time. All the fans ran on the pitch to parade their hero’s, after the pitch was cleared the team was presented which the Premier League Trophy.

The Burnley game defiantly had an end of season feel to the game. With every decided, players were rested and youngsters were given a chance. Fischer grabbed the goal, the result was irrelevant.

Player of the Month

Aiden has been sensational this month, starring in all of the games. He bagged five goals in as many games. With Aubameyang out injured he has really seized his chance in the line-up and made the spot his own.

EVERTON SECURE CUP DOUBLE

“This will never be forgotten” – Zinedine Zidane

Everton have done what no team has done since the famous Manchester United side of 1999, the Toffee’s have secured a domestic treble after the side won the Premier League, FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League.

Something no Everton fan would have ever dreamt of, however Everton have become an English force since Frenchman Zinedine took over. This great achievement puts them on the European map.

Everton started off with the FA Cup, against Premier League rivals Chelsea. It was a tightly contested match from the start and it was not until the 87th minute were Everton grabbed the winner. An unfortunate own goal handed the FA Cup to Everton. Chelsea will feel they were unlucky in this game. The clubs will meet again just days later in an all English Champions League final. They two teams will also open the curtains of next season the Community Shield.

The same Everton side went into the Champions League final full of confidence. It showed with their excellent performance. Two goals either side of half time sealed the game for the Toffee’s. Everton never looked like losing this game. Chelsea seemed like they had not recovered from the FA Cup lose. It was hard to take for Mourinho’s men but Everton were better across the park.

A fantastic week that rounds off a historic and fantastic month for Everton. Something that will be remembered by the club for years and years to come. Here at Sky Sports, we managed to grab a word with Zinedine Zidane and this was what we had to say.

” What a fantastic season. Everyone has been coming to me and asking if I am shocked? Am I surprised? I say no, I know this team were capable of such an amazing feat. We still want to improve, we now play AS Monaco in the super cup, we want to this. We want the community shield and we want to do it all again.

First time in here, but wow, leading Everton to a treble. Good luck with a very possible quintuple after the summer break with the Super Cup and the Community Shield!
dd10 - thanks! take a look around by all means! :D

OXLADE CHAMBERLAIN ANNOUCNES MOVE

“ I’m looking to win trophies”

English winger Alex Oxlade Chamberlain has today publically announced he is leaving the countries capital and moving to Everton. This comes after Everton won the treble last season. Unlike the previous season toffee’s boss Zinedine Zidane has been given the money spend.

Oxlade Chamberlain could be the first of things to come for Everton and their fans will be excited about the prospect of the club going to the next level. Chamberlain joins from Arsenal for a fee of £31,000,000. A fee that smashes through the previous club record that was set when Everton signed Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.

Many fans and pundits alike has hailed the signing and has commented on how he can take the club to an even higher level. Chamberlain announced today through social media that he was joining Everton.

” I am looking forward to a new challenge. I want to thank Arsenal and give them my best wishes for the future.”

Been reading through, and I'm very impressed with what I have read, mate! Not only have you been exceptionally well on the save with Everton, but you've been producing some really good updates for the story, too.

The Ox is a good signing, and I can't wait to see who else you have lined up, to bring to Goodison!
pompeyblue - thanks! That means a lot :D there's a few more ins and outs to come!

EVERTON REJECT LUKAKU BID

Sky Sports can confirm that Everton have rejected two bids from Manchester United for their Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku.

After Everton already broke the bank to bring in England’s Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, it is believed some of their own players have attracted interest too. Manchester United are chasing Belguim striker Romelu Lukaku and have had to bids rejected this week.

The Red Devil’s first bid was thought to be in the region of around £22,000,000. An offer that was laughed away and immediately declined by Everton. Just hours later Louis Van Gaal confirmed the club had made a second bid for Lukaku but did not discuss the price of the bid.

It was reported that United second bid was in the region of £31,500,000. Again the offer was turned down by Everton. Everton are keen to keep hold of the Belgium and boss Zinedine Zidane told us earlier, “ it would take more than double their previous offer”. Everton seem to valuing Romelu Lukaku at well over £60,000,000 as they aim to keep hold of their star man.
well done with your story and team so far :) like the buys of fischer and gudelj :)

Keep it up!
JackKn!feRoy - thanks, they are developing well :)

SPANISH DUO JOIN EVERTON

Everton boss continues to splash the cash

Everton have today confirmed the signings of two young Spanish talents.

Firstly, young left back Jose Luis Gaya. The 22 year old joins from Spanish side La Liga. It is believed Everton see Gaya as a long term replacement for Leighton Baines. Gaya joins the club for a fee of £12.25 million, coming with a lot of potential.

Although Leighton Baines signing a new contract over the summer that keeps the 32 year old at the club till 2020, his game time this could be limited, Zidane is thought to be keen not to rush Gaya. The young Spanish left back clearly has time on his side.

Joining Gaya at Goodison Park is fellow Spaniard, Jeronimo Ruli. The 25 year old goal keeper joins the club for a fee of £16,000,000. Another player that is seen as a long term player. Signed to be a replacement for club legend Tim Howard.

After experienced German keeper Tom Starke’s contract expired at the end of last season, Zidane was after a younger goal keeper to take the helm at Goodison. Ruli also arrives with an immense amount of potential. With Howard coming to the end of his career it is believed that Ruli will jump straight into the number one spot.

Gaya looks like a great prospect, and Ruli is an absolute animal for such an obscure goalie!
Feliks - They both look great!

Midfield duo set to leave Goodison Park?

Everton have received bids for both Muhamed Besic and James McCarthy from Arsenal

News that will not please Everton fans. Rumours of a possible exodus at Goodison Park continues as Arsenal have approached the club over the possibility of signing two of their key midfielders. The Toffee’s have received bids from the Gunners for both Besic and McCarthy.

Arsenal keen to add strength to their midfield have shown they are keen to pay and pay big for the two midfielders. Early speculation confirms any deal could amount to a combined fee of £87,000,000 for the pair.

Besic joined Everton in 2014, coming with a lot of potential. Initially he failed to hold down a place in the starting line-up and at time has not been best pleased with the amount of game time he has received. However over the past season he has been a very important player for the club, showing signs of fulfilling his potential at the club.

On the other hand James McCarthy, believed to be Arsenal’s preferred option has attracted interested in the past from clubs such as Tottenham and Manchester City. McCarthy has been a rock in the Everton midfield, providing energy and stability to the team.

After last season’s success, Everton boss Zinedine Zidane has been given the money to improve his squad. Any deal would give him even more money to invest in his side after he took a large chunk of his transfer budget on one Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The club have confirmed negotiations with Arsenal have taken place and are currently on going. The club have stressed the fact that no deal is yet complete and do not wish to sell their best players.
