Everton have formally announced that manager Roberto Martinez has left the club in mutual consent. The Spaniard is expected to return to his home country Spain due to family related issues. It is then suspected he will return to management in the La Liga. Martinez was a fan favourite in his short spell at Goodison Park and is expected to become one of the best managers around.

Martinez will be missed, however Everton are thought to have his replacement lined up already. The Toffee’s are expected to announce that Zinedine Zidane is to take over from the Spaniard.

Zidane recently was under a coaching ban after it was suspected he was coaching his Real Madrid Castilla without the correct qualifications. However the ban was later lifted. He now going to take centre stage at Everton.
Zidane’s managerial career is just getting under way. Having started as a assistant at Real Madrid. He took up management and took over the Castilla side in the lower Spanish Divisions.
ZIDANE WASTES NO TIME IN THE MARKET

Everton have today completed the signing of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang from Borrussia Dortmund. The winger is a direct replacement for Kevin Mirallas who has left to join the Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Mirrallas left Everton for a fee of £14.5 million. The deal will eventually rise to £19.5 milllion. The signing shows real intent from new Everton boss Zidane as he looks to push through with the clubs Champions League ambition.

Everton have also confirmed the capture of Real Madrid right back Alvaro Arbeloa. The former Liverpool right back may cause a bit of stir by joining. However the experience right back provides cover for Seamus Coleman.

Arbeloa joins for a fee of £1.1 million, something of a bargain when you consider the vast experience he possess.

Finally Antolin Alcaraz has left the Toffee’s to join Swansea. Alcaraz who was brought to the club by Martinez was going to struggle to cement a place in Zidane’s starting eleven, so moved on in search of consistent game time.

Pre-Season Results

Record signing Romelu Lukaku enjoyed a very successful pre-season campaign, scoring seven goals in total. Defiantly a great confidence boost for the young Belgium striker.

Zidane’s men showed that they needed no time to settle to life with Zidane at the club. Scoring a total of seventeen goals and conceded just the two. Zidane will be hoping for more of the same when Everton face West Ham on the opening day of the Premier League. Here is what the French had to say about how his life at Everton has started.

”The team has done very well, the new signings have started well too. I was very pleased with our shape and our defence, the boys look raring to go.”

An impressive set of results in pre-season although I can't see those sides you faced putting up much of a challenge. Good luck with the coming season.
Aubameyang - what a signing!

It's a shame about Mirallas, although I'm glad you got rid of that Alcaraz!
Jamesg237 - thanks, for sure tougher opposition to come!

510 - I was reluctant to let him go but I couldn't turn the down the offer when I found his replacement!

AUGUST REVIEW

Lukaku picked up where he left on during preseason

Everton 2-0 West Ham
Lukaku x1, Eto’o x1

Aston Villa 3-0 Everton

Everton 1-3 Manchester City
Eto’o x1

I was very pleased with the way we started the league with a solid win against a resurgent West Ham side. However we know we got well and truly beat by two good sides. Villa were much better than us on the day. For City, they took their chances. I think we deserved a little more and the score really flatters them. We will defiantly need to kick on in September though.

Europa League Draw

Today’s Europa League group stage draw has been confirmed. The Premier League’s Everton have been drawn into Group D. Alongside them they will face, Russia’s Dynamo Kyiv, Greek side PAOK and finally the Dutch side Feyenoord. A group that will see the Toffee’s do a lot of travelling. The real test is whether they will be able to balance the European competition with their domestic campaign. Here’s what Toffee’s boss Zinedine Zidane had to say about the draw when we spoke to him earlier.

Reporter – R
Zidane – Z

R – What do you make of that draw Zinedine?

ZFor sure, it is a tough group. With a few tricky matches, for sure.

R – Will travelling be a issue for your side?

Z We will look to manage it carefully, we have a lot of depth here at Everton we will be okay I presume.

Managers Reaction Overall a solid month, I was very pleased with all of our performances. It was a disappointment to lose to Spurs, but we cannot take away from them what was a brilliant performance. The highlight of the month for me was for sure knocking Manchester United out of the Capital One Cup, the boys went to Old Trafford and showcased their true potential.

Pienaar x1, Aubameyang x1

Leicester 4-2 Everton
Aubameyang x1, Baines (Pen)x1

Manager’s Reaction
Wow, that’s a tough to take. Dynamo was always going to a tough place to go and Chelsea are looking very strong this year. We played well and 4-2 is flattering on their part. However we were not enough of for most of the month and it has cost us. Leicester are playing with a lot of confident but we should be winning that sort of game. But the boys have put themselves in a good position in the Capital One Cup and on the European front, a real mixed month.

Player of the Month – John Stones

Since returning from injury Stones has been solid at the, looking sharper than before he picked up his injury. Showing signs of being a great player at this club. Hope for more of the same.

KONE WANTS OUT

Kones time at Goodison Park has been overshadowed by injuries

Sky Sports can today reveal that Everton’s Ivorian striker Arouna Kone has held talks about his future at the club with boss Zinedine Zidane. The Ivorian is yet to feature under the Frenchman this season. Kone followed Roberto Martinez to the club from Wigan.

Kone’s Everton career has never really took lift off as the Striker has been struck down time and time again through injuries. Kone is thought to be in the search of first team football. The Ivorian is creeping further and further down the pecking order at Everton with the likes of Lukaku, Eto’o and Aubameyang now at the club.

With the transfer window now slammed shut it is unclear when any possible move would be able to materialise and whether it be a loan move or a permanent switch. Early reports suggests that QPR and Kone’s former club Levante could be interested in taking the Ivorian on loan in January.
NOVEMBER UPDATE

Toffee’s fail to find consistency as Christmas approaches

Everton 3-1 Hull Davies (O.G), Lukaku x2

Feyenoord 2-0 Everton

Everton 2-1 Stoke
Aubameyang, McGeady

Everton 2-3 Burnley
Lukaku x2

PAOK 0-2 Everton
Lukaku x2

Man Utd 1-0 Everton

Manager’s Reaction
Another month were we failed to find any consistency. We gave away some poor results and the boys know this. I was delighted with the way we dismantled teams like Hull and Stoke, as they were potentially tricky games for us. Consistency has been the story of the season so far, we will need to try and balance our results if we are going to push on this season.

Player of the Month - Romelu Lukaku
6

Lukaku has been exceptional this month, his fine form has been rewarded. Romelu went on to win November’s player of the month. The record signing is starting to settle, which is showing with his goals return. Now the Belgium striker is finding his feet, this will help him develop at the club into a great player and a club legend.

Lukaku, Eto’o, Mcgeady

Manager’s Reaction
I needed a reaction from the boys this month and they delivered. We finally managed to add some consistency to our game, that’s seen us climb the table. We are all very happy and in a good place. We were unlucky against Chelsea, we simply could not stop Diego Costa. However I was very happy we were able to progess and win our group in the Europa League.

Player of the Month – Aiden McGeady

Aiden has been magnificent for us this month. The winger has been in fine form, he has been able to chip in with the goals and assists. Last month I gave Romelu Lukaku the player of the month, he would not have been able to score the goals he did without McGeady in the team. Becoming more of a team player every game and adding the consistency he lacked at the start of the season.

A better month than last but a disappointing loss to Burnley let you down :(

I was to slow lol a really solid month mate keep working up the table :D
EVERTON DUO SWEEP AWARDS

John Stones is December’s Young player of the Month

Yet another great moment for Everton Football club in December as John Stones won the Premier League’s young player of the year award. Stones has been at the heart of the Everton defence, forming a great partnership with fellow Englishman Phil Jagielka.
Alongside John Stones, manager Zinedine Zidane collected the Premier League’s manager of the month award. Everton won five out of their last six league games. The Toffee’s fine form has seen them rise to 8th in the Premier League, just one point away from the Europa League spot.
