November Update:

Milan began the month of November with a home game against Cagliari, who have had a positive start to the campaign. Next up for Milan was an away match against Parma, who have only managed two wins so far this season. Then Milan would have a tough game against Napoli at home, who are sitting in 8th position. The final match of the month was against Verona away, who have managed just one win this season and are sitting in 19th place.

AC Milan were comfortable winners over Cagliari after a 2-0 victory. After only two minutes Milan were awarded a penalty after El Shaarawy was fouled, however El Shaarawy was unable to beat the goalkeeper from the spot, after a diving save to his right. Milan finally took the lead in the 66th minute through Arsenal loanee Joel Campbell. Campbell was able to get onto the end of a Keisuke Honda through ball, and chip the ball over the goalkeeper. In the 83rd minute Milan were awarded their second penalty of the game, this time Honda stepped up and slotted the ball into the top right hand corner.

AC Milan came away with a point from their game against Parma. Milan will feel they should have won the game, after having the majority of the possession and having 18 shots on goal compared to Parma's 6. Milan's best chance of the game fell to Fernando Torres who got onto the end of a Stephan El Shaarawy cross but was unfortunate to hit the post. Parma's Gabriel Paletta had a strong game at the heart of the Parma defense, and he fully deserved his man of the match award.

AC Milan were able to defeat Napoli with a hard fought 1-0 victory. Milan took the lead on the 31st minute though Fernando Torres, after a good bit of play down the right, Torres was able to latch onto the end of a Jeremy Menez cut back and place the ball into the corner of the goal. Napoli had a number of good chances, but they found Cristian Abbiati in form and he was able to deny Napoli from finding the back of the net.

AC Milan came away with a 4-2 victory against Verona. Milan took the lead on the 6th minute after Michael Essien was able to head the ball past the keeper, from a Stephan El Shaarawy cross. Fernando Torres then doubled Milan's lead after a good bit of play from El Shaarawy down the right saw him square the ball to Torres who slotted the ball into the net. Luca Toni pulled one back for Verona after a Nicolas Lopez shot was saved but found it's way to Toni to slot the ball into the net. Luca Toni then equalized for Verona after a through ball from Munir Obbadi found it's way to Toni who smashed the ball past Abbiati in goal. Stephan El Shaarawy then put Milan back in front, after a Fernando Torres pass, landed at the feet of El Shaarawy for him to place the ball into the top right hand corner. The final goal of the game, came from Fernando Torres who was able to react first to a Stephan El Shaarawy shot that came back off the post, and slot the ball into the net.

Manager's Thoughts:

I#m very pleased with the month, i feel we played well in our games. It was unfortunate that we wasn't able to get the goal against Parma but that's how football works sometimes. The results mean that we are still unbeaten this season and i feel the players deserve a lot credit for the way they have played during these games. Hopefully we can win our next two games next month and go into January still top of the league.

Player of the month goes to Fernando Torres, who was in excellent form this month. Torres ended the month with 3 goals and 2 assists and his overall performances were very good. So far this season Torres has played 13 games, scoring 9 goals with 4 assists. He has been a changed player since arriving at Milan, after the poor displays he had at Chelsea. Milan will be looking for Torres to continue his form into December where they have two tough games against strong opposition.

December Update:

In December, Milan had two league games in the month. First they would play AS Roma at home, who were currently sitting 6th in the league, having won nine games so far this season. Then Milan would play Genoa away from home, Genoa were currently sitting bottom of the league, having only won one game so far this season.

AC Milan were able to defeat a strong AS Roma side 3-1. The first goal of the game came from Midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura, who got onto the end of a Ignazio Abate cross, to head the ball into the top right corner of the goal. Milan's second goal came from Jeremy Menez who latched onto the end of a Fernando Torres cross to place the ball past Skorupski in goal. Menez then scored a second and Milan's third, after a through ball from Torres found it's way to Menez who was able to finish into the bottom left corner. Veteran Francesco Totti pulled one back for AS Roma, after they were awarded a penalty and Totti was able to slot the ball into the back of the net, past Abbiati in goal.

AC Milan came away with a 3-1 victory over Genoa. The first goal of the game came from Sebastien De Maio who unfortunately put the ball into his own net, after Giacomo Bonaventura crossed the ball from the left hand side, and De Maio stuck out a leg and saw the ball roll into the net. Andrea Poli then doubled Milan's lead, after getting on the end of a Keisuke Honda cross , to head the ball over the keeper. Diego Perotti pulled one back for Genoa after reacting first to a corner from the right hand side, and placing the ball past Abbiati in goal. Milan's final goal of the game came from Poli, who was able to beat his marker to the ball, after a Bonaventura corner, to smash the ball into the middle of the goal. Poli had the chance to complete his hat-trick from the penalty spot, but was unable to beat Curci in goal, who did well to keep the ball from going in.

Manager's Thoughts:

I feel this has been our best month, even though we only played two fixtures. In both the games we played, we were the better team by far and we fully deserved to score the amount we did. The game against AS Roma i am most pleased with becasue, Roma are a very tough team and i feel we outplayed them throughout the full 90 minutes. Obviously it was disappointing to concede in both games but overall i am very happy.

Player of the month goes to Striker Jeremy Menez, who scored 2 in 2 this month. Menez was awarded man of the match in the game against AS Roma, and it was fully deserved after an outstanding performance, where he showed what he can do, when he performs to the best of his ability. Menez has been unfortunate not to have scored more goals so far this season, but he will be pleased with how he has performed overall.

January Update:

AC Milan would play six games this month. First Milan would play rivals Inter at home, who have lost just one league game this season. Next up for Milan was Torino away, who were sitting in 12th place. Milan would then play their TIM Cup 1st round fixture against Verona at home, who have been in poor form so far this season. The next game saw Milan play Palermo at home, who were sitting in 16th place. Milan's final two games were both away from home against Sassuolo and Fiorentna.

Rivals AC Milan and Inter shared a 1-1 draw. The opening goal of the game came from Midfielder Freddy Guarin, who was able to get above his marker and head home from a Dodo corner. AC Milan came away with a 3-1 victory over Torino. Philipe Mexes opened the scoring for Milan, after a Giacomo Bonaventura free-kick found it's way to Mexes, who was able to head the ball past the goalkeeper. Milan's second came from Riccardo Montolivo, who's shot from just outside the area was deflected and found it's way into the back of the net. The third goal came from the penalty spot, after Fernando Torres was fouled in the area. Torres dusted himself off and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way. Torino did manage a consolation goal, after Darmian found himself free in the box and was able to place the ball past Abbiati in goal.

AC Milan are through to the next round of the TIM Cup after recording a 2-1 victory over Verona. Milan took the lead from the penalty spot, after Joel Campbell was fouled inside the box, and Jeremy Menez scored the resulting penalty. Milan doubled there lead through Arsenal loanee Joel Campbell who was able to get onto the end of a Daniele Bonera cross to place the ball past the goalkeeper. Verona pulled one back through Nicolas Lopez, who found himself free in the area, and placed the ball into the right hand side of the goal.

Stephan El Shaarawy doubled Milan's lead, after a good bit of play down the right, saw Abate cross ball to the near post where El Shaarawy was on hand to tap the ball into the back of the net.

AC Milan and Sassuolo played out a bore draw, as neither team did much to take the three points. The best chance of the game fell to Juventus loanee Domenico Berardi, who managed to escape the challenge of Alex to lift the ball over Diego Lopez in goal, but was unfortunate to see the ball land on the roof of the net. Cristian Zapata had a good game at the heart of Milan's defense and very much deserved his man of the match award.

AC Milan were victorious against Fiorentina after recording a 1-0 victory. It took Milan till the 80th minute to finally take the lead, after a Giacomo Bonaventura free-kick found it's way to M'Baye Niang who was able to smash the ball past Mattia Perin in goal. Substitute Niang was a constant menace for Fiorentina, as they couldn't handle his pace down the right hand side. Niang was rightfully named man of the match.

Manager's Thoughts:

January was a good month for us, as we still remain unbeaten. The games against Inter and Sassuolo were tough, and i feel we were the weaker team in both games, however we showed real character and we were able to get a point in both games. I'm pleased we were able to make it through to the next round of the Cup, as i feel we have every chance of getting to the final this season, and even winning it.

Player of the month went to Right Back Ignazio Abate, who put in some excellent performances this month. The most impressive performance was the game against Palermo, where he managed to finish the match with two assists to his name. Abate has performed constantly throughout the season, and he will be hoping to continue these good performances through till the end of the season.

This is a pretty nice story, sharp layout and not half bad writing. Haven't really followed until now, but I'll definitely keep reading now that I've started! Perhaps you could start posting screenshots of the table with your monthly updates so we can see how you're doing? Keep it up

January Update: Grocott Extends Milan Contract

AC Milan manager Oliver Grocott has signed a two year contract extension with the club. Grocott's contract was due to expire at the end of the current season, but Milan have moved quickly to tie down the 32 year old for a further two years. Milan have been in fantastic form so far this season, sitting top of the league, and having yet to lose a game. There has been a clear change in the way Milan are playing in comparison to last season, where the club failed to qualify for European football, with the current form, Milan will be expecting to qualify this year, and some even believe they could win the title.

AC Milan managing director Adriano Galliani is delighted that manager Oliver Grocott has extended his current contract with the club. "I am absolutely delighted to see Oliver sign a new contract with us. We are very pleased with the way the club is performing in the league, and Oliver has shown fantastic desire and heart in changing the way the club is performing compared to previous seasons. We firmly believe we will qualify for Europe this year, which is our absolute main priority, however we also believe if we carry on with our current form, the title is also a major possibility."

Manager Oliver Grocott also released a statement regarding the contract extension. "I'm very proud to sign a new contract with the club, the players and supporters have been fantastic so far this season and it's a pleasure to be involved with everyone at the club. The form this season has been great, of course being top of the table at the mid-point of the season is a huge boost, as we feel we can really push on for the remainder of the season and qualify for Europe. All i ask is that we take it one game at a time, and who knows? maybe the title could be ours at the end of the season, but we are a long way away from it at this point."

February Update:

In the month of February Milan would play a further six fixtures. Milan would start of with a league fixture against Udinese at home, who were currently sitting in 9th place. Next up for Milan was an away fixture at AS Roma in the quarter final the TIM Cup. Chievo were up next, in another away fixture. Milan's next fixture was against Lazio at home, who were sitting in 7th place. The final two fixtures were an away match against Sampdoria, and a home fixture against Atalanta.

AC Milan were able to beat Udinese 3-0, after an impressive display. Defender Philippe Mexes opened the scoring for Milan after reacting first to a Alex free-kick that rebounded back of the crossbar. Milan's second came from a Danilo own goal, who was unfortunate to see the ball bounce of him after a Ignazio Abate cross. The final goal of the game came from loanee Tomas Martinez, who found himself free in the box, and after a Philippe Mexes cross, was able to volley the ball into the top right hand corner.

AC Milan are through to the Semi-Finals of the TIM Cup after defeating AS Roma 3-1. The opening goal of the game came from the penalty spot, after Fernando Torres was fouled by Danielle De Rossi, it was Keisuke Honda who stepped up to send the keeper the wrong way. Just before half-time Sergi Samper doubled Milan's lead, after a cross from the right found it's way to Samper who struck the ball into the left hand side of the goal. AS Roma pulled one back through Miralem Pjanic who skipped past the challenges of two Milan players to slot the ball through the legs of Diego Lopez in goal. Jeremy Menez sealed the win for Milan in added on time after a good bit of play down the left, saw Torres pick out Menez at the back post, who was able to head the ball into an empty net.

AC Milan and Chievo played out a 1-1 draw, in a game with very few chances. Valter Birsa who is on loan from Milan, opened the scoring for Chievo. AC Milan Defender Alex conceded a penalty after a clumsy tackle on Issac Cofie, which saw Valter Birsa step up and slot the ball into the top right hand corner. Milan's equalizer came from Keisuke Honda, who's 25 yard free-kick flew into the top right hand corner of the goal, and left the keeper with no chance. A draw was a fair result, after both teams were able to cancel each other out.

AC Milan defeated Lazio 4-1, in an impressive outing. After only 58 seconds, Milan took the lead through Fernando Torres who received the ball on the edge of the box, and curled an effort into the bottom right hand corner of the goal. Just three minutes later Lazio were level, after Alvaro Gonzalez found some space in the area, to slot the ball past Diego Lopez in goal. Milan were back in front, through a Torres second, who was able to latch onto a Jeremy Menez cross, to head the ball into the net. Menez then found himself on the score sheet after dancing his way past two defenders and chipping the ball over the keeper to make it 3-1. Menez then sealed the game on the 73rd minute after a Torres through ball found it's way to Menez who placed the ball around the keeper.

AC Milan came out on top, after beating Sampdoria 2-0. Milan's opener came courtesy of a Roberto Soriano own goal, after a cross from Mattia De Sciglio struck Soriano on the back and rolled into the back of the net. Milan's second came not long after, when Fernando Torres found some space in the area, and was able to drill the ball past the keeper. Milan will feel they should have scored more, but for Viviano having a good game.

AC Milan and Atalanta, shared the spoils after a 1-1 draw. The first real bit of action was on the 58th minute, after Andrea Poli received his marching orders for a dangerous tackle on Maxi Moralez. Milan substitute M'Baye Niang opened the scoring, after picking up the ball on the right, and cutting in onto his left foot and releasing a curling effort into the left hand side of the goal. Atalanta's equalizer came from the penalty spot, after Philippe Mexes handled in the area, and Cristian Ralmondi stepped up to score the resulting penalty.

Manager's Thoughts:

I believe this was a good month for us, we had some tough games, but still managed to stay unbeaten and remain top of the league. The result against Lazio was particularly pleasing as they are a very tough team, and to score 4 goals against them is very pleasing. We need to make sure we carry on our great run of form into next month, as we have some tough fixtures including playing Juventus twice.

The player of the month award went to Striker Fernando Torres. Torres was able to get on the score sheet three times this month, including two assists. Torres has been in fine form all season, and has manged to notch up 14 goals so far this season. His performances have been impressive as he has shown desire and a willingness to perform, this has helped him develop into one of the best strikers in Serie A this season.

March Update:

March saw Milan start with the TIM Cup semi final fixture against Juventus at home. Milan would then play Juventus at home again in the Serie A, Juventus were currently sitting 5 points behind leaders Milan. Next up for Milan was a trip to Empoli, who were sitting in 14th place. Finally Milan would finish the month with a fixture against Cesena at home.

AC Milan and Juventus drew the 1st leg of the TIM Cup semi final, after a 1-1 draw. Juventus striker Carlos Tevez opened the scoring after just 3 minutes, after he found space in the area and he managed to bend the ball around the defender and into the right hand side of the goal. It took Milan till the 83rd minute to equalize through Fernando Torres, who got on the end of a Ignazio Abate cross, to head the ball past Buffon in goal. Torres could have won the game for Milan in the 90th minute but for a good save to deny the Spaniard.

AC Milan and Juventus shared the points, after a 2-2 draw. Carlos Tevez opened the scoring for Juventus, after a pull back from Sebastian Giovinco found it's way to the feet of Tevez, who thumped the ball past Diego Lopez in goal. Tevez then added his second, after receiving the ball on the edge of the area, and slotting the ball into the top right hand corner of the goal. Milan pulled one back through Fernando Torres, who was able to evade the tackles of two Juventus defenders, to slot the ball past Buffon. Milan's equalizer came from Keisuke Honda, who's free-kick flew into the top left hand corner of the goal from roughly 25 yards out.

AC Milan suffered their first defeat of the season, after losing 2-1 against Empoli. Francesco Tavano scored the first goal of the game, after a mix up in the Milan defense, allowed Tavano to place the ball through the legs of Diego Lopez. Milan's equalizer came from Stephan El Shaarawy, who got onto the end of a Fernando Torres through ball, to round the goalkeeper and slot the ball into an empty net. Empoli's winner courtesy of Marco Donadel, who get above his marker to head a Francesco Tavano corner, into the back of the net.

AC Milan bounced back from their first loss of the season, to defeat Cesena 1-0. The only goal of the game, came on the 75th minute from the penalty spot, after Andrea Poli was brought down in the area, which saw Keisuke Honda step up, and send the keeper the wrong way. Milan had a total of 32 shots on goal, with 17 of them on target, but they could still only manage the single goal.

Manager's Thoughts:

I'm not sure what to make of this month, as i feel we did well to manage two draws against arguably the best team in the league, but then we lost our first game of the season, in a game which i thought we were the better team. The team have been fantastic all season, and they need to make sure they don't lose their heads after losing their first game, they need to make sure they stay focused and turn their attentions to next months fixtures.

The player of the month award goes to Fernando Torres. Torres has been in good form this month for AC Milan scoring 2 goals, and also has 1 assist. With this player of the month award, it means that Torres has won back-to-back awards and is the first person to do so this season. AC Milan fans are desperate to see Torres continue his fine form, and are really hoping he can finish the season with the golden boot award.
