Phoenix Appoint Caville

Today see's Aldershot Town appoint new boss Keiran Caville at The Recreation Ground. The news was broke to fans and media this morning, Tuesday,8th July, 2014 at 9:00am UK time. After recent manager Andy Scott resigned from the club after 500 days in charge of the club. The Phoenix Board released a statement shortly after the resignation saying "Andy left on his own terms and we wish him all the best wherever his career takes him". 1 day after the resignation its thought that Caville was in talks with the Aldershot board and a deal was agreed to hire him as the new manager of Aldershot Town Football Club. 2 hours after the appointment was confirmed a press conference was called at The Recreation Ground to let the media have at Caville. A total of 6 questions were asked to Caville which are all shown below.

Aaron Hunter (BBC Surrey): Do you feel your ambitions are matched by the chairman?

Keiran Caville: Aldershot is an ambitious club and they certainly match my ambitions, I'm glad to have been given the chance to manage at such a great club.

Ryan Crowe (TNLP): Do you feel the expectations asked of you this season have been fair and realistic?

Keiran Caville: Yes, I have been given a target and at the end of the day I'm expected adhere to these expectations and I wouldn't of been hired if they didn't believe I could do it.

Ryan Crowe (TNLP): Many people are wondering what a manager like you is doing at a club like Aldershot. Are you selling yourself short or do you not have any ambition?

Keiran Caville: Lets start with this no manager should get to start at the very top regardless of how well there playing career went. And questioning my ambition by being at a small club is wrong of you, I believe you couldn't be anymore ambitious by starting from the lower leagues, it shows your willing to fight to earn your place in the football league and that your committed.

Ryan Crowe (TNLP): Okay your right, but on another note some managers are famous for the hands on approach and others maintain a more reserved manner with there players. How do you see your management style?

Keiran Caville: I like to be involved as much as I can, without this approach players can't make a connection with there manager. I prefer to talk to my players as much as possible so I can find out what they want and keep them happy maintaining a great player-manager relationship.

Aaron Hunter (BBC Surrey): Its often said managers favour different competitions. Will you be concentrating primarily on getting good results in the league?

Keiran Caville: The league is my main priority but that's not too say that I don't favour a bit of cup competition. In these leagues the focus is definitely the league but when we hit the Football League we will competing for all trophies.

Dale Field (gethampshire.co.uk): On the off chance that any agents read your comments, is there a certain area your looking to strengthen?

Keiran Caville: Well I cant comment on that much as I haven't met the players yet and had chance to asses the squad. but you can look to see us dip into the transfer market.

So with Caville hinting that there could be transfer activity coming Aldershot's way surely the fans will be exited. In more Aldershot news the board released a statement saying "We are delighted to have someone like Keiran manager our club and we are expecting big things" could this be Aldershot's big break having someone like Caville manage there team, its certainly going to be a rollercoaster season that's for sure.

I'm not going to lie I had my work cut out for me at Aldershot, it was no easy walk in the park that's for sure. I was taking over a depleted team with a squad the size of queue in Asda on a Sunday morning. Things were going to have to change around here but money was obsolete and I had no money to spend on players nor no wage to give out I would have to make do with what I had... great. Its not like the squad was awful there was potential in loanee Joseph N'Guessan but we only had him for a season and the chances were he wouldn't want to come back. The only player who looked slightly promising was our Right Back Jaydon Gibbs but even he didn't compare to some of the players in this league.

I didn't want to say it but I was second guessing being at Aldershot, contemplating wether I should give up before the first hurdle but I was soon put back in my place. I met up with an old friend of mine from back in the day sort of a family friend you might know the guy.. Gary Lineker. We met up at a local coffee place in just round the corner form the training ground and I told him my problems.

Keiran: Look Gary I'm starting to second guess joining Aldershot, the squad is small and there is no money I don't think I can work like this.

Gary: Listen to me now you don't want to quit at the first hurdle Keiran, money and players don't just come to you in an instant you have to work for it. Deal with what you have and build from there, it all takes time have patience.

Keiran: Maybe your right, maybe I am umping the gun too quickly, I just need to get my head straight and sort the team out deal with what I got and build on it next year.

Gary: I knew you'd see sense look if you ever need to get in touch you know where I am, don't do anything rash, I'm always here

Keiran: Okay, Catch you later.

And just like that he was gone, the only thing left was his number on a plain white paper napkin. I knew Gary was the only one who could talk sense into me and hey he was the one who made my career what it was, but from this day I knew I had to prove everyone wrong, I had to be the greatest manager that ever lived.
Oooh Lineker... interesting.... will be interesting to see his involvement in the future...
hmm Wonder how he will do

Yesterday evening around 9:00pm UK Time it is thought Keiran Caville made a call to Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho regarding funding for the club. Caville who took over Aldershot just over a week ago has plead out to Chelsea who have kept Aldershot afloat being there main Senior Affiliate. Mourinho who is a Chelsea icon was thought to have been glad to pass the information to owner Roman Abramovich, Caville released to the press exactly what was said in the call and what Chelsea were doing.

Jose: Hello..

Keiran: Hi Jose, Its Keiran Caville from Aldershot how are you?

Jose:Im good thanks, what can I do for you friend?

Keiran:Well Jose, it seems the club is in a struggle for funds and as awful and cheeky as it sounds we need some cash.

Jose:Hey, no problem friend.. I will talk to Roman and get something sorted for you.

Moments later Caville was called back by Roman..

Roman: Hello... Keiran my friend what is it you need

Keiran:Ahh yes.. Roman, we are very short on funds and our youth facilities are low we are in dire need of funding can we count on your help?

Roman:Yes.. No problem friend, we will build one of the finest youth facilities for you and we will throw you 100,000 pounds to put in the transfer market. Also if you want we can send you one of our youngsters to play if you like?

Keiran: Ohh gosh Roman, how generous.. ermm yes you can send us a player as well but who?

Roman:How does Joao Rodriquez sound?

Keiran:Jeez thanks Roman your so generous, I look forward to talking again.

Roman:No problem friend.. glad we can help you out hopefully you return favour in future.. talk soon friend.

So there you have it Roman Abramovich is a really nice guy will these new found funds help Aldershot get out of the Conference who knows stick around its going to be a roller-coaster season.
