Well nice start man and about Zigic, hmm... we shall see what will happen. Keep it up!

One For The Future: Douglas Abner

Born in the bustling city of Brasília, capital city of Brazil was Boavista's next big hope. Douglas Abner has been busting the net in reserve games for Boavista - as well as impressing both his reserve coach Daniel Portela and new First-Team Head Coach Deco.

The eighteen year-old made an instant impact on his first-team debut against Vitória Setúbal, assisting the first goal of the game with a tidy pass into the six yard box which Kukula finished off cleanly. He then made a second appearance against Chaves in the League Cup. Unfortunately for the Brazilian, Abner had to be taken off in the 70th minute due to injury in a game that resulted in a 2-0 loss for Boavista.

Abner started his career off at Santos in the Brazilian First Division before being snapped up by South American giants Corinthians in 2012. It was only this season Abner made his move to Europe with a free transfer from Timao. The striker failed to make any first-team appearances for his previous club but has now been given a chance by fellow Brazilian Deco. The competition for the striker spots are fierce at the Portuguese side, having Nikola Zigic, Leozinho, Joao Tomás, Michael Uchebo and Christian Pouga all featuring this season.

Abner is set for a start in Boavista's next game against Marítimo who are currently 4th in the Premier League, with Boavista sat midtable, they need a boost to get them up to the highest they can. Douglas Abner might be able to provide that for them.

October Update

Another poor month has led us to drop two places in the league, with our only wins coming in cup competitions meanwhile suffering both defeats in the league. Although we are meant to be fighting against relegation, I obviously want to go further than expectations read, and for that to happen we need consistency. Without consistency we'd be lucky to stay up at all. Thankfully, the Leozinho and Nikola Zigic strike partnership is beginning to work a bit, both scoring in both wins this month.

November

I'm not going to say it's an easy month, because I expected Arouca to be easy opponents - only to be beaten by them, but I think it's a commonly known fact that Nacional de Madeira and Estoril are weaker teams than both Benfica and Porto, who we also play near the end of the month.
