QPR over recent years have endured their fair share of ups and downs, managers, coaches and players have all gone through those everlasting revolving doors and I think it’s time the club and it’s fans had some stability… followed by success!

To add to this the club is now handicapped by financial struggles with the likes of Shaun-Wright Phillips happily sitting in the under 21’s picking up 65k a week for his troubles.

The mission statement then… first things first stability in both the league and financial terms then moving onto developing a squad that can challenge for the top 6 and have youth prospects to challenge for first team places as there is currently zero challenging for the first team.

There’s my profile to start with.. awarding myself because of 600 hours alone of playing FM 2014 I think this warrants it? Maybe not but let’s move on.

Horrific reading right? Somebody gave those players those contracts at one time so instead of throwing money at any player my philosophy going forward will to be extremely stringent with my buys and try and unload a lot of these players that are hogging my wage budget.

This will be my goal to Mr. Fernandes for the first season as well as balancing the books as it were.

Possibly too cheap but I am very happy to get that wage bill off my budget.. Hopefully he doesn’t tweet about me too much as a back lash haha.

Now before I continue with showing you the rest of pre-season and the offloads ill show you the changes for the coaches and training. Some of you may have other suggestions for my backroom staff that I would love to hear!

BEFORE

AFTER

The Pre-season results were mostly pre-picked by the club for me, I am under no illusion however that having an unbeaten pre-season yields no representation on what the actual season will look like.

SO HERE WE GO! I have what I feel my strongest 11 picked! I have gone for my Favoured 4-2-3-1 formation which favours my team I feel also, the main striker of Austin who had gone 7 goals in 5 games in pre-season. Taarabt… oh Adel Adel Adel, 5 games 5 goals and an average rating of 7.93 in pre-season, if he can keep this form over the majority of the season he will be devastating however whoever follows the man knows that he can go missing for large parts of the season, I will be working on keeping his morale up.

Finally my personal favourite over the past 2 FM’s is Steven Caulker. Young, strong fast and English, I want him to become my captain and stay with the club for the long term as I believe he can grow and become one of the league’s best.

NOW THIS IS WHERE I COULD USE SOME ADVICE.. my weakest position at the moment is the right wing back position I feel, can anybody suggest somebody who I could bring in on a budget? I currently have £3 million in transfer budgets and £85k left over for wages?

Any comments also will be very welcome as I embark on this QPR challenege!
Good luck!

START AS YOU MEAN TO GO ON

Yes indeed I didn’t even expect this in my first game, and as touched on in pre-season I said it would be a season for Adel to come to the fore front and so he did in this first game! Linking up with Austin going forward was like watching Aguero and Silva linking up, too early? It’s only Burnley away? It’s a relegation rival and this is a team with 7 new players and a brand new formation a good start then.

Bargain? Time will tell but as soon as I purchased this player his value shot upto £6.5 million so even in that respect it’s an early indication of a good buy. Virgill was bought after the first three games were played (see below) as an injury to Dunne and Hill show me the frailties of Ferdinand, it would appear as in real life his legs are gone and as a 23 year old Holland international I feel this fee and player can reflect well on the season as a whole.
Going the opposite way nothing really else happened..

Offering Dunne, Karl Henry and SWP as free transfers came back with no avail. Stuck with them as squad players then as annoying and unhealthy on finances as that is, has made me more determined at the end of season to continue my transfer policy and offload these off the books.

A combined total of £285,250 per week off my salary just off contracts running out alone! Far more manoeuvrability once they’re gone off the wage bill, possibly keep one of the keepers as a backup and then Faurlin because he still can do a job I feel.

The first 8 games done then!
Most notable I guess was the crashing out at MK DONS, fair play to them they played my second string team off the park, and a lot of players got found out, luckily the board nor I at this stage in my career see this competition as worthwhile, concentration onto the Premier league it is then.

Wins against Burnley, Swansea, WBA and Everton standing me in good stead for the start of the season, even the draw against arsenal showing resilience.
Now I might add the only injury I suffered was Adel in the Man City game for 8 weeks and then Virgill came on board after the Newcastle defeat.

NEXT GAME is Leicester away so another 3 points is being aimed for… here is the league table so far,

Any suggestions welcome, other than that I’m keen to kick on with the bright start to the season!
Good start to the season, QPR is my favorite team so I'll defiantly be following
Nice detailed start. like it. good luck!
Cheers boys, i just stuffed Leicester 3-0 away which moved me upto into 4th spot! Getting a nose bleed being this high this fast haha!

It would Appear Matt Phillips Scores when he likes… and Andrew’s QPR are challenging for Europe already?

Yes firstly I would like to draw your attention to Mr. Phillips who has been my best player by far, in fact over the past 14 games he has scored 10 goals which is no mean feat cutting in from the right wing as an inside forward, this has also had an impact on my form as QPR have maintained the challenge on Europe in the first season!

This is the run up from my last post until the end of 2014 and I think the team has done well if you consider the squad I have at my disposal. Most notable game for myself were the Man Utd and Chelsea games who both came into their games with QPR on the back of 5 straight wins.
Long may the form continue and Mr.Fernandes appears to agree

Earlier than usual contract extension for myself, nevertheless a vote of confidence from the chairman who has seen his fair share of managers in his short time at the club.

I suppose there had to be some bad news and indeed here it here, £60,000 a week of it to be exact. This happened after the Chelsea game in terms of dates when I put him in the reserves to build up some match fitness after 3 weeks on the physio table from a prior injury.

Other notable changes to my squad are Karl Henry and Brian Murphy (3rd choice GK) who have joined Doncaster and Man City on free transfers respectively. I’m hoping this gives me some free wage cash to spare to perhaps bring in a loan or two to compete for a first team spot rather than hog up my under 21’s on a big fat contract.

If anybody would like to see anything else on my next update please feel free to let me know, other than that your comments are appreciated!
January the month of my clear out

It was depressing me that SWP, Dunne and Ferdinand were constantly picking up injuries and that they wasn’t going to help the team in anyway. I’d rather take loans for the rest of the season and then have a complete new influx of players in the summer with a lower wages for myself and the attraction of European football (possibly)

The in comings are now accompanied by Eric Dier and Lerin Duarte (Ajax) on loan. Instant impacts on Suso, Odegaard and Dier in the FA cup games all scoring in the process. Now I understand ill be losing players in the summer but as stated this summer will be a busy one to bringing players for the first team. Adding quality not quantity.
Jordan Mutch also left to Crystal Palace for 5.5 million because he complained about lack of first team football and threatened to take it public. So I cashed in whilst I could.

Obviously doing something right, I am very pleased at his progress this season so far, I’d say 85% of his games he is playing over 7.0 average which is very pleasing to see. This bid was rejected which then prompted him wanting an improved contract which I obliged to but his wage was only raised to 35k which I felt was still well within a good wage range for myself.

So stability then, well firstly it’s pleasing to compare my league position to the salary per annum which means in a financial point of view I am over-achieving. It’s also good to see that the crowds are coming in, which is a strong basis for the future when bigger names come and there is European football because either a stadium expansion or a new stadium can be developed.

There is a very promising site for the games in Jan, the squad depth used in the FA cup games and the only games lost are the ones which was expected, although close games showing this squad can compete. Three more quality additions it would have been a different outcome I would say.

Here we have the League table on Feb 2nd, having Mr. Austin top of the goal scorer’s board, and my right winger also in the 3 is very pleasing. What’s more is that Austin also second in the assist table, showing that he has contributed on both fronts.

So onto February we go hoping to claim a Europe spot and progress further in the F.A. Cup.
Looking real good in terms of results and stability! Can you push maybe into UCL?
2015-01-23 04:36#206724 Pauker : Looking real good in terms of results and stability! Can you push maybe into UCL?

Just played two more games West brom at home and Everton away and i won them both which put me into top 4 so here's hoping.
Champions league football next season

Even I was surprised at this one but with the players I had and the budget I was given I have managed to pull off a UCL qualification season in my first one. And here’s how with the final run in of results.

Tough run in and only a 3 losses made it a final day decider and my draw was enough to clinch it!

So this is how it all finished then I clinched it by a single point and Charlie Austin finished the top goal scorer and he also made an appearance in the team of the year.
The main players to talk about for the season have to be Austin for his goals (28) Taarabt when fit because he unlocked defences and at times was unplayable. Suso on loan from Liverpool came in and was incredible 10(5) apps with 8 goals and 8 assists. Phillips was the surprise package and he was there with Vargas who scored important goals for me throughout the season.

So here’s what came off the back of the league finish then..

New stadium

And my board thinking I can put together a team in the champions league on £11 mill? Very very tough summer ahead and the have my transfer revenue percentage at 10% so I am going to have to go to the board over the summer and really try to change things. Also to add Mcarthy has requested a transfer to Hull because he wants the chance to play at a bigger team? Strange.

This also needs addressing…

Finally I thought I’d give you a snapshot of finances which was before the last game of the season, and then we can compare it to later on after I’ve been given money for TV and sponsorship deals and then any further investment

Onto a busy summer then trying to build a team that can compete in the premier league and the UCL and cups! It’s going to be a hard summer.
Summer 2015 Transfers and 1st team squad clear out.

This is the squad on day one of the transfer season and it’s already a large change from the squad at the start of last season.

This is the transfers before the start of the first game, as I said earlier Mccarthy left because he wanted to join a bigger club in Hull… no really (even though they’re my home town and beloved team in real life)

Bringing in “Ron” was a no brainer on a strict transfer budget because his release clause was £7.5 million straight swap money wise.

Danny Ings was cheap because of his contract ending however he was on the verge of re-signing with them so I parted with the cash for him to replace Zamora as a back-up to Austin.
Ben-Arfa and Boruc on free transfers were easy choices also as I feel I need 3 keepers in playing in more competitions this season.

Right back signing of Clyne was the biggest transfer fee I paid up front, on transfer deadline day also I got James-Ward Prowse by paying in instalments and add on fees to the max! Weirdly got Shawcross as well on a loan for the season as he has had a fallen out with Stok because he wants champions league football.

Few of things from the board..

Then this is what we have done over the past financial year

So For the season ahead the squad is going to be stretched as I play in four competitions!

This is the first team squad for this season
maybe try playing Sandro as a BWM and rotate him w/ Fer? I think that Ward-Prowse would benefit a more attacking role
