In the preferences it says my graphics card is five-star, yet the match engine is running jerky - what's going on?
We're aware of an issue in regards to the star system which doesn't always show correctly - we would suggest if you find 3D is running jerky to put it on the lowest setting and try running the game without the crowd loaded.
I've downloaded the demo and it states it is an unknown publisher/select a program to open this file with and I cannot run the demo.
In this circumstance, you need to re-name the file with .exe at the end. Doing so will allow the demo to run correctly.
I'm trying to download the Demo via Steam, but it just keeps refreshing the page instead of downloading.
We've found that logging out and closing down your Steam account, then logging back in will help with this issue.
I get the message "FM2010 Demo d3dx9_41.dll not found".
You need to update your DirectX, this can be done from HERE

Fix: Please download the following update from the Microsoft Direct X SDK.
When downloading this file please use the Firefox browser as some people have encounter difficulties when using Internet Explorer.
You should also check that you are running the latest graphics driver, you can do this by visiting the computer manufacturer website, or by visiting the graphics card manufacturing website.
Also if you are running Steam, make sure this is not running when attempting to install.
When launching the game you receive the following Error: "FM.exe application error. The application has failed to initialize correctly (0xC0150002). Click on OK to stop the application."
This can be resolved by updating the Microsoft Dot.Net framework, please visit HERE.
You are receiving the error: 'FM2010 could not run as 'facegen' was unable to initialize!'
Please ensure your graphics drivers are up to date, this should solve the majority of issues regarding the facegens.
You are receiving the error: 'This application has failed to start because saAuditMD.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem'.
Please download the file from HERE and place in the following folder: C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010

If you are having trouble installing the game please make sure you are on an Administrator account for your PC. If it is failing on an administrator account it would be worth creating a completely new account and trying again.

If you are having trouble with Windows XP/Vista 64bit then you should change compatibility mode to 'Windows XP', do this by right-clicking on the game icon, clicking properties and changing the compatibility mode to 'Windows XP'.
NEW - Mouse cursor disappears on almost every screen of the game.
Try turning off pointer trails in control panel/mouse (if you have it selected).
