The England Revolution

Jenkinson Called Up For Injured Kelly

Martin Kelly is injured, forcing him to pull out of the England squad

England joint Head Coaches Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher today decided to call up West Ham United's on loan defender Carl Jenkinson for the injured Crystal Palace right back Martin Kelly.

Carl Jenkinson has replaced Kelly in the England squad

Kelly, a £1.5m buy from Liverpool has picked up a thigh strain in training for Crystal Palace and is said to be devastated that he has missed out on the chance to pick up his second international cap for England.

Words can not not describe how sad it is that I have had to pull out but in Carl (Jenkinson), England have called up a great replacement and I hope to be in contention for the next squad in October

Carl Jenkinson is said to be over the moon to have got the opportunity to win his first cap and Joint head coach Gary Neville said that he has the same chance as the rest of the players to start against Bulgaria this Wednesday. Carl was one of the four players we considered for the squad originally and now he will have his chance to impress in training.

Craig Gardner speaks out about his England call up

In other news Craig Gardner has been talking about his shock inclusion in the national squad and just how proud he would be to represent his country in one of the matches, I thought Alan (Irvine) was taking the piss! said Gardner, but when I would out he was being deadly serious I just was gobsmacked, to be around a side as talented as this is something we all dream about but to be here with my new team mate (Ben Foster) makes it that bit more sweeter and I can not wait to train this week.

Welbeck and Assombelonga are tipped to start vs Bulgaria

It is reported on many media sites including Sky Sports and BBC Sport that England will be going with a 4-4-2 attacking formation and it is understood that Welbeck and Assombelonga will get the nod upfront with Danny Rose getting his debut in the friendly in Levski but these are just rumours at the moment and we will find out on match day.
When is the next update coming ?
