The England Revolution

Hodgson Resigns

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as head coach of England but now is the right time to hand this young and talented squad over to a younger coach. I will see this job as the pinacle of my career and I can not wait to see whoever takes over from me, take the team to a new level said outgoing manager Roy Hodgson.

It is believed that Hodgson left before he was pushed after three years in the role and now the bookies have already released odds on the five man shortlist the F.A have apparently got for the position.

Diego Simeone - 3/1f

It is understood that the F.A are going to approach Atletico Madrid to see if Diego Simeone would be interested in the job. The Argentinian has won one La Liga title with Atletico, one Europa League and finished runners up in the Champions League and for that reason is the favourite for the job.

Rafa Benitez - 6/1

Former Liverpool and Chelsea manager Rafa Benitez is also one of the favourites to land the job as he apparently looks for a change after just a year and a bit in Italy with Napoli. The Spanish manager has made no secret of wanting a return back to England but would he consider the England head coach post?

Jose Mourinho - 10/1

In what could be the biggest appointment if it was to go ahead, it is thought that England would ask Chelsea if Mourinho could job share the England job with his current Chelsea post. It is understood that Mourinho would be very interested in the role but with him not being a yes man that is why he is only 10/1 for the job and not the favourite

Glenn Hoddle - 16/1

Astonishingly it is understood that Glenn Hoddle is on the F.A's to talk list. The former England manager last managed the national side way back in 1996 until 1999 and is now a coach at Q.P.R. It is though he would be a popular choice amongst most fans but is still and outsider.

Jamie Carragher & Gary Neville - 25/1

It is understood that Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville have applied to be joint managers of the English National team. The duo, who were fierce rivals on the pitch in there day, have now found common ground while pundits on Sky Sports and it is understood the English F.A have given them the chance to impress with an interview but remain complete outsiders.

Who will land the job, find out in the next update!

Neville: We HAVE Got The Job!

I just got off the phone with Greg Dyke and I am pleased to announce that he offered the job of England Head Coach to me and Jamie! This is such a big thing for us because we both bleed England and want them to do well with the difference now that instead of us slagging the England Manager's off, we are now going to be the one under scrutiny.

When I was playing for England, I played under some great managers myself. I would pick Glenn Hoddle and Terry Venables as the two managers that gave the most to the England squad while I was in it. Venables nearly led us to European Championship glory in 1996, when we were knocked out against Germany in the Semi Final in which I was ruled out but my brother Phil played.

I am now looking forward to working with Jamie (Carragher) with one of the most exciting squads that could last upto 10 years in our view and although there will be arguments over squad selection and probably a few surprises on the way too we will ultimately try to give the fans what they have craved, a trophy.

We are going to name a brand new captain and vice captain in the coming weeks and aslong as they do not drastically fall out of form, they will always be in the squad with the captain playing every minute he can.
I should have seen that coming :D good luck m8
Good luck !

Decisions, Decisions

Green - Neville
Red - Carragher

So Jamie, I think we should go to a match each in the first week of the Premier League but lets not go to a Manchester United or a Liverpool match as there are loads of other players to look at also.

Yes I think your right. I mean I think the match between Spurs and Arsenal looks juicy enough for me and I would like a look at Harry Kane, who is someone I think could do a great job for us.

Yeah I agree Jamie but for me I will go and watch our next Captain in action against Burnley at Turf Moor, he may only be young but with Gerrard in the Liverpool team, he will only prosper...

Hang on Gary, I can not go and watch Liverpool, but you can! That is a bit unfair don't you think (Carragher laughs)

Well least I can see Henderson in action to make sure that you have got the decisions right this time! In your Liverpool days you made some bad ones (Neville laughs)

Least when I represented England I SUNG the national anthem! (Carragher stares at Neville)

Yeah OK point taken, so you will go to Spurs vs Arsenal and I will visit Turf Moor to watch Henderson and see if anyone else catches my eye.

OK then. That sounds good to me.
maybe will see Englang will became World cup winner finnaly

Carragher faces interview as Joint England Head Coach

Reporter - Brown
Carragher - Red

Thanks for joining us. This is an exclusive first interview with one of the joint England managers Jamie Carragher. Thanks for joining us Jamie, my first question is How will being joint England manager with Gary Neville work?

Well thanks for having me, first and foremost. It will work pretty well because off the pitch we actually like each other and we have the same views on where we want England to go and how to get them there. Gary had a lot more England caps than I did with 85 to my 38 but we are both very experienced.

Carragher playing for England

You chose Jordan Henderson as your England Captain. He only has 13 caps, can you explain your decision and can you reveal the vice captain?

Henderson is the new England Captain

Certainly, in Jordan we have a young, vibrant player who is heading to the top. He is a natural born leader, who will one day captain Liverpool too. He has also had Steven Garrard to guide him, being a former England captain himself, it seemed right getting him in to replace Wayne Rooney. The vice captaincy has been given to Leighton (Baines), who in my view is the best left back we have ever had. He is loyal, consistent and gives 100% every single match.

You have a friendly and a Euro qualifier coming up in about a month's time against Bulgaria and Lithuania respectively, do you have any idea of a possible squad yet?

Absolutely not, me and Gary will be picking from in form players. Jordan and Leighton will be in the squad but they are the only two at the moment.

Will you be backing one goalkeeper to be your number 1?

We will, and have it down to four keepers at the moment but we will not be discussing which four. Whoever starts against Bulgaria will be the keeper that we are going to attempt to stick with so watch this space.

Finally how long will it take you to win a trophy?

We are looking to win the upcoming European Championships once we qualify.

Thanks for the interview Jamie
.
Interesting choice of head coaches. Good luck, I will follow it!

Neville's Trip to Turf Moor

Damn it was cold, as I got out of my car and was able to walk straight into the stadium. It is a interesting stadium and it is no wonder other sides think that it is a tough place to come and win, with the wind swirling around.

I was here for the intriguing match between newly promoted Burnley and Liverpool, who with new bad boy striker Mario Bellotelli in there starting line up would be interesting to see how the Reds did.

There were disappointingly only four players that I wanted to look at in the starting line ups. Steven Garrard retired from international football as soon as Hoy (Hodgson) resigned. So I thought to myself OK I will take a look at Henderson and Johnson from Liverpool and then Chalobah and Ings from Burnley. I was disappointed that Brendan (Rodgers had left out so many Englishmen.

I get that Lallana and Sturridge are out injured but for Raheem (Sterling) to just be left out was a disgrace. Burnley however had a lot of English talent on display and there is always a chance that they will impress me and Jamie enough to get into the next England squad.

To say the referee wanted to be centre of attention would be a understatement, although it felt good sitting and watching a match knowing I would not need to report on it at half time! Burnley started well and Ings showed some good movement but lacked the finish. Mee and Matty Taylor inter-played well only for a weak shot by frontman Ings at the end of it.

Heaton had a stormer against Liverpool, despite conceding three

Liverpool got into it though but while on the back-foot they were able to find the net and it was bad boy Mario Bellotelli who had a delightful ball played through to him by retired former England Captain Steven Gerrard to make it 1-0. Henderson then smashed the ball against the bar as Liverpool looked to stamp their authority on the match.

Half time came around and Liverpool were 1-0 up. I had made a couple of notes which were as follows

- Matty Taylor's positioning and crossing of a ball is exemplary
- Danny Ings gets into the positions but needs to work on his finishing
- Not been Johnson's finest half of football

The second half kicked off and Liverpool swarmed all over the host's as they hit chance after chance but it was a fantasic string of saves by Englishman keeper Tom Heaton, (formerly of Manchester United) that kept the home side in it and it nearly paid off as Burnley had the ball in the net, thanks to Danny Ings but was adjudged offside. It was a close call and I wont say anything until I have seen the replay on Match Of The Day later.

Ing in action vs Liverpool

Liverpool then did hit the back of the net and it was a great piece of play by Coutinho and Bellotelli to allow Fabio Borini the chance to score and make it 2-0, then Burnley hit an own goal to allow Liverpool a 3-0 victory but it was a lot closer than the scoreline suggests.

English Player Performances Of Note

Liverpool

G Johnson 5 Had a day to forget here today but will bounce back I am sure
J Henderson 8 great interplay with Gerrard and Coutinho, also played his part in the goals
R Lambert 6 Cameo performance, tried hard but could not really get into the game

Burnley

T Heaton 7 Very impressive reflex saves but struggles from crosses, one to keep an eye on
M Taylor 9 Player of the match in view, got in great positions and with a striker that can find the net would have had atleast 4 assists today
N Chalobah 6 Very quiet game but he is young and looks to have the ability to be a class act
D Ings 4 Could not hit a barn door today and when he did score Mignolet had stopped already anyway.

So match one completed for me and I have learnt a lot at my first match as England Joint Head Coach and I can not wait to discuss with Jamie about what I have experienced today.

The England Revolution

Carragher Announces England Squad

Hello everyone and thanks for attending for the naming of mine and Gary's first England squad as Joint Head Coaches. We have attended many matches this month and deliberated about who to have as the Number one keeper so lets crack on and name the squad.

We will start with the three goalkeepers named in the squad. Joe Hart is in the squad, I mean how could he not be but we have decided to remove him as the number one goalkeeper. He has done amazingly well for us in the past years but a change is needed in our view.

Goalkeepers

Ben Foster has also been named in the squad and he is the man we have selected to be the new number one goalkeeper while me and Gary are in charge. This was a tough decision between Joe and Fraser Forster, who is the other keeper we have named. I personally think that Foster is the right man to be in goal for us.

Defenders

Right Backs

We have decided to go for two new right backs for England because Kyle Walker is out injured we have gone for Nathanial Clyne of Southampton and Martin Kelly of Crystal Palace.

Clyne has had an amazing start for Southampton this season and really works hard for his side. I think that he has all the attributes to be a top drawer right back for club and country in the future.

Martin Kelly, formally of Liverpool has moved to Crystal Palace for £1.5m and has shone in the first couple of matches this season. He will really be pushing for his 2nd cap for the national side after having his debut against Norway back in 2012.

Left Backs

In the left back department we decided to go for Leighton Baines as he was named the vice captain and has also scored once with 3 assists in the first two matches this season. He posesses everything you look for in a quality left back. Speed, pace and crossing ability along with knowing how to defend well.

Joining him is Tottenham's 24 year old left back Danny Rose. This guy is exceptionally fast and as shown last season, can mix it with the big boys when it comes to tackling and crossing. He is certainly a danger to the opposition and thoroughly deserves his call up and the potential to win his first cap for his nation.

Central Defenders

For the central defender's we have named four defenders for the role. First of all we have called up West Ham defender James Tomkins. He has been mega impressive this season under Sam Allerdyce. He has been a tower of strength as West Ham have climbed into the top half of the Premier League and could well win his first cap this weekend.

The next player we have called up is Chelsea central defender Gary Cahill. The Chelsea enforcer has already won 26 caps for his Country and is going to be very important for us as we try and push the national side on. The defender has been part of the disappointing start for Chelsea this season and they are currently in 10th place in the league.

Next up is Steven Caulker. The Cardiff City defender is as reliable as they come and he merits his place in the squad. Some people would argue that he is the most in form player of the whole squad at the moment.

Finally John Stones gets the last defensive spot and he is again, such a wonderful model professional and has a big, big future ahead of him for both club and Country. He has played really well alongside Leighton Baines this season and we are happy to have the team-mates int he same squad.

Midfielders

Right Midfield

For right midfield we have gone for the two best players in form in the position they play at there clubs. Nathan Dyer and Andros Townsend have had unbelievable starts for there clubs this season. Dyer, who possesses incredible pace and athleticism has a chance to win his first cap over the next two matches.

Andros Townsend, however has five caps already and his form for Spurs have been absolutely great this season so far. I think he is going to be a great player for England over the next ten years. Andros is only 23 and has every chance of stardom while me and Gary are in charge but we will only pick who will star on the training performance.

Left Midfield

Raheem Sterling has been named as a left midfielder but he has been playing on the right for Liverpool but me and Gary wanted him in aswell as Townsend and Dyer. The Liverpool winger has been an amazing performer this seaon that has seen Liverpool go top of the table.

The other player that we have opted for is James Milner. The Man City utility man is going to be as important to us as he is to the Man City squad. Milner has an incredible work ethic and to be around players that we have is a very important step for what we are trying to achieve here at England.

Central Midfielders

We have named five central midfielders, so we will start with the shock call up and that is West Brom new signing Craig Gardner. The new signing from Sunderland has been a revelation in helping West Brom to a good start with 2 goals in the first two games for his new club and may well be rewarded with his first England cap this weekend.

Next up is Hull midfielder Jake Livermore, who has played a massive part in Hull's decent start this season. The former Spurs player has been fantastic with the ball at his feet this season and his trickery has played a big part in his call up to the national team.

We also called up Jordan Henderson for the double header and will also captain his first match on Saturday. This is a great opportunity for Jordan and I can not wait to unleash him this weekend.

The other two players are both Arsenal players in Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. It is going to be nice to have some regulars in the squad and these two ooze quality and teamwork.

Strikers

For Strikers we had a big issue this month with so many injuries. Wayne Rooney & Daniel Sturridge are both out injured so me and Gary looked elsewhere for some inspiration and we found it in Nottingham Forest Congo born Britt Assembalonga, who has hit 5 goals in 4 games in the Championship this season. Me and Gary have found it very tough to leave him out and we will say now that he WILL get his debut on Saturday in the friendly.

Next up is Danny Welbeck, who has been on the top of his game since the start of the season. I think he is going to be very important for England while we are in charge here.

Gabby Agbonlahor has pretty much forced his way into the squad again. The striker, who had a great pre-season and start to the season has hit 3 goals in the first 2 matches this season and deserves his call up.

So People that is the 23 man squad to play the friendly against Bulgaria and the European Championship Qualifier with Lituainia.
Great to see you putting as much into this one as the Paul McGrath saga, i just hope it turns out as positive for the team as i can have a vested interest in this one ;)
2015-02-09 13:39#207711 JasonRM : We want Rafa! :))

Rafa is the England manager in my Oldham Athletic save. A good detailed start. Keep it up.
