North Ferriby United - The Road To Somewhere

Who Am I ?

North Ferriby United are a small village club based in the Yorkshire & Humber Region, The club currently play in the Vanarama Conference North and narrowley missed out on promotion the the Vanarama Premier Last season. North Ferriby are a club rather close to my heart as last year I ended my 2 year playing career with there Youth Team, I also attend alot of ther games as they're just a short 10 minuite train journey from Hull and the trains stops 2 minuites away from the ground. North Ferriby have gained a lot of recognition in the coming years after earning 2 consecutive promotion to get to the Vanarama Conference and almost made it 3 after losing in the play-offs. The club are currently doing very well in the league this year and prmotion is looking more and more likely, the club are also in the semi-final of the FA Trophy and are playing this Saturday for a spot at Wembley a dream for such a litlle club.

The Club play there home games at Grange Lane a small stadium that holds around 2-3000 people that is based around 2 large allotmants on either side of the pitch and the railway line. Grange Lane is pictured below.


The Club play in a Home White Kit with Green designs across the shirt and a Yellow away shirt with green designs as shown in the picture below.


Summary: I hope you guys enjoy this story and I look forward to actually sticking this one out, a second update will follow very shortley with pre-season and my August results. Id like to give a thanks to Steve (Justice) for his Vauxhall Motors story which has inspired me too do this story.

Notes: Pre-Season was great for us only losing 1 game against a League 1 side which isnt to bad at all. Beating Hull Citu u21's was a highlight as they have a verys trong reserve side that is very capable of beating championship teams. Another good result was beating League 2 side Mansfield Town who are 2 leagues above us so its a real morale boost for the squad.

In Summary i'm very happy with our Pre-Season and the results we got and that should give us a monumental boost going into the Vanarama North season. Moving on to the transfer side of things we made a few decent additions to the team and we hope they can add too the depth of the squad and come up when needed, check them out in the below section.


Matty Wolfenden

Notes: Matty is a great player and has proved that over his time at FC United. He will fit well into the team and add depth aswell covering for Nathan Jarman. I hope he can really prove himself at his time at North Ferriby and im looking for him to ciontribute right away.

Jordan Kay

---

Notes: Jordan Kay is a young right back who will play a major part in our season as he is a natural right back and will be playing the majority of the games we play. I hope he can add to our squad and help us towards promotion.

Chris Sutherland

---

Notes: Chris is an accomplished right winger and can make a great contribution to the team this season, im hoping he can work with Jarman and Yates and help create alot of chances for us. I expect Chris to help us secure a good position this season.

Lewis Clarkson

---

Notes: Lewis is a great prospect and a friend of mine too. Lewis actually lives right next door to me (irl) and is a good footballer who can help us greatley. Im expecting him to make some ciontribution to the goals and towards the promotion push.

George Whiteoak

---

Notes: Goerge is a good defender and bulks us up at the back. I hope he can make some valuable tackles and keep us from conceding many goals. George has experience and can help us greatly this season.

Summary: The transfer window has been busy for us and I hope these signings will add to the squads depth and ability in our bid for promotion. I can tell you August is looking very exiting so stick around to see how North Ferriby did in there 1st month.

Its been a long month for Vanarama teams and its been suprising for one team 'North Ferriby United' who have done exceptionally well. North Ferriby manager Keiran Caville said he was extremely proud of his North Ferriby side and said that they are pushing for promotion this season. North Ferriby chairman Les Hare also expresses his gratitude to the new manager by saying he was an exiting manager and has big ambitions for the club. North Ferriby who have played 5 games this August have won all of there games and sit at the top of the table with a delightful 15 points, Caville said to the media "We're a confident team and we are working harder than ever to gain promotion". Caville who joined North Ferriby at the beggining of pre-season has really shaped the squad into a goalscoring power force and its intresting to see how they will fair this season.


Gainsbrough 1-5 North Ferriby United

Managers Notes: We really showed our class in this game and we hoped to take this into our next game. Jarman and Yates impressed greatly and have earnt themselves a place in the next game for sure. Scoring 5 goals on the first game of the season shows that we really mean buisness and we are going to try our best to get to the promised land of the football league.


North Ferriby United 2-0 Chorley Town

Managers Notes: We impressed again and showed our dominance against Chorley Town, we dominated from the off against Chorley and never really let them into the game at all. Jarman and Yates yet again impress and Wolfenden and Sutherland put in impresive performances aswell. Im liking this team and we have big ambitions.


Solihull moors 3-4 North Ferriby United

Managers Notes: A great game for the nuetrals to see and a very impressive fight from both sides but we came out on top. It was a topsy turvy kinda game one goal after another and it was a very special day for the travelling fans, we should fight and commitment to go and get a win out there and thats what we need this season.


North Ferriby United 1-0 Hyde FC

Managers Notes: A good game and very tight througout but once again victory comes to The Villagers, we worked hard througout the game against a strong Hyde who are recently fresh from relegation and will no doubt be wanting to go straight back up. Jarman impressed the crowd today and so did Sutherland, I think were on to a winning team here.


Bradford PA 1-4 North Ferriby United

Managers Notes: A great way to cap of August with a 4 goal haul and we look in good shape for September. We're sitting nicely at the top of the league and in great spirits for the rest of the season, fingers crossed the form continues. Lewis Clarkson impressed in this game bagging himself 2 goals and getting a MOTM Performance. Im glad I took this Job, North Ferriby are great.

Its been a busy September for all involved in Football, but especially for club in perticular who are dominating the headlines for all the right reasons. Keiran Caville's North Ferriby United side have had yet another storming month in the Vanarama North. Ferriby who have played a total of 6 league games this month, have dominate the league and still remain unbeaten going into October. Pundits are certainly suggesting that if Caville can keep them consistent then they will definatley gain promotion to the Conference. North Ferriby won all there opening month fixtures and have done exceptionally well this month too. Caville released his monthly statement expressing how "proud" he was of his team and how "confident" he and the players were feeling after another unbeaten month. Who knows if Caville can keep Ferriby flying high but we shall soon see going into a busy October month.

Managers Notes: Our first draw of the season and it was a hardly contested game. We gave a lot of fight out there but Stockport matched our ambitions by gaining a point. In my honest opinion a point was a fair result on the day and we can't complain as we are still unbeaten and top of the league.

Managers Notes: Another draw but still unbeaten is the key thing. we had a poor first half and I feel if we didnt concede 2 goals first the comeback wouldnt have been nessacery. But at the end of the day the lads gave great fight to comeback from 2 goals down and rescued us a point.

Managers Notes: A great vicctory to carry on our unbeaten streak and great character by the team as they played with confidence. A home win is always great as it puts the fans in a jubulant mood and gets the mood merry in the bar. Jarman the outstanding performer in this one.

Managers Notes: Another great result from a confident Ferriby side. Credit too Worcester they put a great fight against us but we prevailed and took the 3 points. George Whiteoak dominated the game at the back and even up front netting himself 2 goals. A very good result #UTF.

Managers Notes: Another draw the story of our month really but like I have said we remain at the top of the table at the end of the day. We conceded in the 13th ehich isnt too good but my old friend Lewis Clarkson came up with the point.

Managers Notes: A good win against a low sided team, I expected nothing less of course. It was a FA Cup qualifier so it wasnt too important but a win is always good to keep the lads in good spirits. George Whiteoak bagged himself another goal, not bad for a centr half and Chris Sutherland contributed to his talley this season. Not much else to say but nice way to end a good month, smiles all around.
