The 51 year old, who made 225 Palace appearances and scored 90 goals, has signed as the new Crystal Palace manager. This move comes as a surprise to many after the likes of Steve Clarke and Neil Warnock were favoured to become manager.
Wright comes with little managing experience, being a part-time first coach at League One side MK Dons. Recently arriving from being a pundit at the FIFA World Cup in Brazil with ITV, Wright has to face the challenge at Palace.
This move came after the recent exit of ex-manager Tony Pulis, who famously kept Palace up and won the Premier League manager of the year award. It was thought that Pulis had an argument with Palace Chairman Steve Parish, and decided to leave by 'mutual consent'.
The task that Ian Wright faces at Palace could be difficult, but as long as he can play his cards right who knows what can happen at 'The Famous Red & Blue Army'.
