Firstly, I couldn't find where to post something related to FM14 manager stories, so I did it here. If any better place for this exists, I'd thank any mod who can move it there.
I have some questions. I've played FM14 for some time now. I haven't played FM15 because I want to continue my game with the previous one. Anyways, the questions arose because of something that happened inmatch and either didn't happen before or I failed to notice it in previous saves. Allow me explain myself:
I was playing with my team during a very good match. I scored, opponent team did it too, and we were 2-2. I decided to go full offensive (in my system) and I switched from a very asymmetric 4-2-3-1 to a 4-1-1-2-2 moving one of the wingers to a forward position. They're talented and can play very well in different positions and roles. Then, when I returned to the original formation after getting advantage of 1 goal in order to keep it, the winger guy still tried to move to the forward position and the other guys in the attack zone (the 3-1 at the end of 4-2-3-1) moved to their positions in the second formation and even floated freely in the final third (I use a fluid scheme, not very fluid). My players sometimes switched positions without any order from my part, not even the one in the line instructions (In fact, it was disabled because sometimes I focus on a player's duty and need to avoid the switch between wingers). Basically the 3 attacking midfielders (the second offensive line) was rotating and they were taking the position they wanted. This produced a second goal and I was up 4 to 2. In the end the system worked so well they managed to win 6-2 scoring 2 more goals in second half. Is this normal? It requires smart and talented players having their best match or it is some 'bug'? Is it an unexpected behavior as a result of the game engine or AI? What are the chances of having this same effect in FM15? Thanks in advance.
* Btw, they did pretty much the same in the match after that. But this time I didn't change my formation and they did it by themselves. Also, I rested half or more of the team. So, I don't get how the others got 'infected' by this behavior.
I find this odd. It's the exact effect I was looking for, based on the current Bundesliga style with hyperfluidity (I don't go hyper), gegenpressing and asymmetry -I run the BVB Dortmund, the Bayern being the other which resembles this style- but I never expected to have such a realistic reaction. I didn't experience this in FM13 and as I said before, I didn't either in FM14 until now. (Don't get me wrong, it's wonderful and I'm loving it).
