AFC Ajax - De Godenzonen

Hello guys,

Welcome to my first ever manager story. In this story, I will take over the legendary Dutch team AFC Ajax. One decade after their last big success (CL, 1995) I will be replacing current Frank de Boer.

My aims:

• Form a team largely consisting of Dutch players (preferably from Ajax' youth academy)
• Win the CL within 10 years
• Make the Eredivisie one of the best European leagues again (I know this is not entirely up to me)

I will be posting regularly, mostly monthly updates, but also updates covering the development of my youth players.

This story will NOT be a graphic masterpiece. It will largely consist of text, accompanied by the occasional screenshots

Good luck with this - played as Ajax for a few seasons in my Mirroing Van Gaal save on YouTube and was certainly quite fun.

Ajax have some good young players so you should be able to break a few of them through

Also I think if you build a strong team the CL can be done in 10 years

The Tactic

Sadly enough, this tactic will merely be a digitalized version of the one the legendary 1968-1973 Ajax side used. In this tactic, I have used the fundamental principles of Totaal Voetbal, the tactical system Ajax used back in the days. As you can see, I haven't set any instructions on how to penetrate the opposite's defence; this is because I like to see where the weakness of my opponent lays before I set the instructions. Furthermore, there are some players instructions in this tactic of which I don't think they are worth mentioning.



I'll be using this tactic in my first season. If it succeeds in winning us the title, odds are I'll make a seperate topic explaining exactly how the tactic works. For now, I'll just carry on with my save. Next up will be an update on how the first season in the Eredivisie has unfolded.

@Addicted2FM thanks mate, I think it can be done as well. Also, I'll definitely be giving some of my youngsters a chance in the first team in my first season.
