It has emerged this evening that Filippo Inzaghi is set to step back from his caretaker manager role at AC Milan, in order to make way for a new manager.

'i Rossoneri' owner and honorary president Silvio Berlusconi said:

"This is what was agreed when Filippo signed. We were always subject to replace him before the new season, he is fully aware of this outcome".

"He has done a fantastic job in the close season and i am impressed with the work he has done as far as transfers incoming and outgoing go".

Berlusconi also confirmed that Inzaghi and long term assistant manager Mauro Tassoti will remain at the club

"The exciting part of all of this is that Filippo will remain at the club as assistant manager, with Mauro becoming a full time, first team coach. This allows Filippo to learn and gain experience, at the club, in a management role. All of this and we can announce a world class manager is ready to take over at the top".

Sky Sports can confirm that AC Milan have a new manager in place ready to sign. Although we cannot confirm the identitiy of this person as of yet, we will let you know as soon as we do
ok guys i should have maybe started with an introduction to myself and my plans for this story but better late than never.

im a long time player of fm and indeed champ man back in the day. im so obsessed with football and the fm series that it has even encouraged me to start pursuing a coaching career in real life in which i am the manager of an under 9s team and im currently undergoing my level 2 in coaching football, anyhow.

this is the first time i am attempting to write an fm story. i have read many others through the years and found many very interesting whether it to be getting ideas on players to sign for my team in fm or just out of general interest.

i am choosing AC Milan as the result of a number of factors.....
1)first and foremost i have played all of fm15 (early beta access up until now) as lower league teams such as Aldershot and Boreham Wood, the latter being a save i got so into i bought a club cap and wore it whilst playing 'pulis style'.
winning the fa trophy fully suited and booted was a genuine highlight of this years game for me.

so now i want to manage a club thats not semi-pro, in fact i want to manage i giant. all these wonderkid names and world class names that have been thrown about these forums and all along i have been unable to sign/manage because of my lower league status. so i fancy a change

2) italy is my favourite nation to manage in. way back in 2006, my most succesful and enjoyable fm game ever where i managed Juventus. last year i had a fantastic save with Torino, finishing 2nd and winning cup in my first season where i focussed on italian youths
what i like about italy is the amount of clubs on a similar level such as roma, fiorentina, lazio, sampdoria. that and the unpredictability of serie 'a'.

3) again linked to italy, the amount of italian players in the game and in real life with either bags of potential or experience. they have an abundance of great players but the amount of hot prospects is mouth watering

4) finally AC Milan because, whilst they still are a giant club and i can attract the top players i havent played with yet as well all of those hot italian prospects, there is a unique challenge. Milan finished 10th irl and probably have the worst squad theyve had in my lifetime.

rebuilding their fame and fortunes will be a challenge, but a fun one and one that should make for an exciting story which i look forward to playing and writing

With the appointment of the new AC Milan manager now set be announced tomorrow, there is a keen sense of intrigue across Italy and Europe as to who the main man may be. Sky Sport Italia decided to gather fans thoughts on who the new manager could be

Fan 1: "I am surprised at how much of a secret the club have managed to keep this. Ive been looking at my phone continuously. The majority of rumours ive read are suggesting Maldini or Ancelotti. Personally id prefer the latter".

Fan 2: "Things cant get much worse for AC. We tried Seedorf and although it was a bit better i think we need a proven manager. My fingers are crossed, im hoping its Ancelotti".

Fan 3: "Honestly, i dont see why Filippo wasnt given the job. He has done well in the transfer market and remains dedicated to the club. We could have taken a chance on him".

Fan 4: "I dont know who its going to be but its got to be someone with experience and a winning manager at that. Thats what a world class manager is. Thats who weve been promised".

So the majority of fans we have spoken with are expecting an 'experienced', 'proven' manager. But with names as varied as Shevchenko, Maldini, Ancelotti and even Italy manager Conte the only thing thats certain is a shot at redemption for 'i rossoneri'.
manager will hopefully be up early tomorrow morning as well as some transfer news/rumours

MALDINI TAKES MILAN HOT SEAT

AC Milan have rolled back the years to appoint the legend that is Paolo Maldini as manager.

After much speculation of who the new head coach would be, today, AC Milan have unveiled club icon Maldini as manager. It comes only 24 hours after Filippo Inzaghi stepped down as manager in order to allow a new head coach to come in. This means that Inzaghi will be his former teammates right hand man.

Paolo Maldini, who retired back in 2009 at the age of 41, has been quietly gaining his coaching badges since and now boasts a full pro license.

Maldini is set to get right to work at AC Milan and will give his first press conference as manager later today

'Silvio Berlusconi starts by introducing new manager Paolo Maldini before stating of how proud and excited he is. Berlusconi goes on to announce that Maldini has agreed to sign a contract, which makes him AC Milan manager for 5 years'.

Reporter: "First of all Paolo, welcome back, just how does it feel?
Maldini: "Well, it feels fantastic obviously. Surreal, very surreal but amazing".

Reporter: "This is your first ever managerial role in football. Are you a little nervous things dont go well? Especially given that your reputation here at Milan could be at stake?"
Maldini: "I admit it wasnt an easy decision as such. Milan is a club that means everything to me. My reputation at this fantastic club is something that means a lot to me. Then again, i have worked hard since retirement to get in a position like this. Its the only job i dreamt about after retirement. Its a challenge. One that im confident of overcoming. My love for the club is enough so that...if i wasnt fully confident i would have stepped aside and left it to someone else"

Reporter: "Mr. Berlusconi. A five year contract?"
Berlusconi: "Like i said a world class manager. i beleive Paolo is a world class manager. we sat down and talked...i think he is the full package"

Reporter: "Paolo, do you feel you can see out the full 5 years of your contract?"
Maldini: "I would not have signed the contract had i not agreed with it or be confident i can last that long and further"

Reporter: "Paolo, what can you bring to club other than raw passion?"
Maldini: "What has got me this job is my philosophy. I dont want to give too much away but dont just think that because i was a defender, my teams will be a solely defensive unit. Throughout my time spent gaining my badges i feel i have developed a way of getting the best results possible, scoring many goals...exciting football....that is the purpose"

Berlusconi: "Are there any more questions?"

FM scout users, please feel free to ask Paolo a question by commenting.

3 out in 6 days at San Siro

Paolo Maldini may have only been in the AC Milan hot seat for little under a week yet he has wasted no time making a start on altering the playing squad ahead of the new season.

Daniele Bonera - Chievo - £175k
http://www.ilcalciomagazine.it/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/IM_Bonera.jpg
Daniele Bonera leaves the club having spent 8 seasons at Milan.

Philippe Mexes - Everton - £425k
http://static.goal.com/419900/419992_heroa.jpg
Philippe Mexes leaves to join English Premier Division outfit Everton. He leaves a huge gap of around 100k in the wage bill at San Siro.

Michael Essien - Saint Etienne - £550k
http://img.thesun.co.uk/aidemitlum/archive/02084/essien_2084373a.jpg
Once dubbed the new Patrick Vieira, Essien's career has hit a rough patch since joining Rossoneri. Fans have openly expressed their happiness at seeing the back of him.

So Maldini has wasted no time freeing up a big chunk of the wage bill. No doubt this will be spent elsewhere. So who are AC Milan and their new man looking at?

Dede

Reports from Brazil are suggesting that AC Milan have agreed a fee for the towering Brazilian defender with his club Cruzeiro.
Dede, who has made 9 appearances for Brazil, scoring one goal, stands at 6'4'' and is attracting interest from clubs such as PSG, Arsenal and Benfica. However, AC Milan are the favourites to win his signature after agreeing a fee thought to be around £10m with the Brazilian side.
