Italian Legend Retires - As a Player
Former Italy legend Paolo Cannavaro has shocked his home country and been appointed manager of his former club, Parma. Parma were only just relegated to Serie D after declaring bankruptcy and losing all of it's squad. Paolo stated that he is looking forward to the challenge of rebuilding Parma and perhaps reinstating the club back to it's legendary status.
"I want to rebuild this club that i love so dearly and regain our status as a world class club. My goal as Parma manager is to make this team similar to that of the 'superteam' that was around 1995/96"
The jury is still out whether Cannavaro has sufficient managerial experience to rebuild the once great club but time will tell.
