News coming out of Selhurst Park has told us that following the resignation of former manager Tony Pulis, the man set to become the new boss, former Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has pulled out of the deal at the last minute due to personal reasons. As a result, at the last minute, Steve Parish has appointment the unknown Englishman Lloyd Debenham on a one-year contract.

This appointment comes as a shock with not many people knowing Debenham. Despite not knowing him, he already holds a UEFA Pro License after gaining many years of experience at the St Albans City youth set up. He is said to be well renowned for his attacking style of play and his strict discipline in the dressing room.

Crystal Palace owner Steve Parish told us: "I understand why our fans may be concerned that the appointment, however I feel as though Debenham is the sort of a coach that we have been looking for. Someone who is willing to play attacking football in this division yet keep strong discipline in the dressing room to allow a professional atmosphere within the club.

When appointed, Debenham told the Crystal Palace Twitter page: "Crystal Palace is a special club and I believe it has the potential to go far. With our location and being set in London I believe that we can attract a number of star players to our club"

"I want to take Palace to the top," he continued, "I believe that we can become one of the top forces in European football however that will take hard work. I believe that if we recruit well in the summer, play an attractive style off football and sign the right players, then there is no reason why we can't finish in the top 10 this year"

Lloyd Debenham's first test will be later this week as his side take on their first friendly match of the season as they prepare for the 2014/15 Premier League season.
Best of luck, first get London to be yours, then Europe!
Good start to the story, looking forward to it! :)

Just like Cooper, he will be loaned out until January to help with his development. The 18-year-old midfielder or join Swindon town on loan until January. Just like with the arrangement with Cooper and Walsall, they have the option to extend his loan should the option become available.
