Welshy: You've cursed it! Thierry Ambrose is now injured for half a year!

tenthreeleader: Also interesting for me to find out so much about them that I never knew before! :)

Reeves: Dons Saved My Career

Former Altrincham striker Damian Reeves has admitted his arrival at Kingsmeadow has changed his career path.

The 28-year-old had previously never played in the Football League in his career before his £25,000 move to Wimbledon from Altrincham this summer.

The former Leeds graduate said: "When Altrincham came up to me during preseason and told me Wimbledon put in an offer for me, I couldn't believe it!

"I graduated from Leeds' academy years ago and never appeared for their first-team, never been involved in the Football League since them days.

"I've been all around the country ever since I left Leeds, in the Conference of course. I was sick of part-time contracts, but Wimbledon saved me.

"They saw something in me that made them want me and I love Dave Beasant for that - he's turned my life around. I wanted to be able to say that I am working full-time at some point, and now I'm doing it with a big club like Wimbledon! It's brilliant.

"I have so much to thank this club for, and I want to repay that in goals and progression as a club for us. They deserve it from me."

Reeves signed a one-year deal with AFC Wimbledon after joining from Altrincham - earning £650 per week at Kingsmeadow.
Well, if he performs like you hope too you'll be wishing that you had a two-year contract
I doubted Reeves a bit at first to be honest, but he's proved me wrong!
2015-08-02 17:45#217620 tango602 : Can't really comment on league position at this stage as it's too early on
Aye, don't want to tempt fate at this stage!

Frampton's Big Decision

It may be the end of the road for AFC Wimbledon captain Andy Frampton, as he undergoes treatment for knee tendonitis - ruling him out for the rest of the season.

The club's Head Physio, Stuart Douglas reported to Wimbledon manager Dave Beasant this morning of such a tragic injury in training.

The club captain was in pain and had to be carried off the training field this morning by club staff as he was taken straight to the medical room for examination.

The centre-back is deeply sceptical about his chances of a full recovery and fears he might never be able to kick a football again.

Frampton is 35-years-old and has been at the club since last season, joining a free transfer from fellow League Two side Gillingham - making 31 appearances in his first season for The Dons.

The former Millwall player will be out of action for at least six to seven months, and at the age of 35, it would appear the centre-back doesn't have much longer in this game following this shocking news.

An absolutely appalling month based on previous months. We picked up five points out of a possible fifteen, a shocking return of below half the maximum points. We only managed a point from bottom of the league Dagenham & Redbridge - bottom of the league! I'm struggling to understand how we're even in the playoff places after this month!

LEAGUE TABLE

Like said before, I'm so confused as to how we've managed to keep our 5th place spot in the league, and I can only see it going downhill from here - just like Carlisle. I can see us also being overtaken by Mansfield and Carlisle in coming games, sadly.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Brandon Barker

Despite the winger not getting as much playing time as he is normally accustomed to, this month he has been a shining light in a long, dark tunnel for us. His dribbling has been a great asset to a rusty side in recent weeks, and has been good for us this month.

NEXT MONTH: NOVEMBER

This month is one of the tougher ones we will come across this season, facing the likes of Cambridge and Morecambe who are both in high positions in the league and with our run of bad form, I can't see us providing too much challenge for them sadly.
Could've had a better month, maybe next month you'll break into a good run!
Good updates here, sitting well in the table - results hopefully can improve.

Barker: I'm Learning From Loan

AFC Wimbledon's Brandon Barker has been interviewed by local press about his progress on his loan deal from Manchester City.

The youngster has scored one goal in his 16 appearances for The Wombles, creating six goals in the process.

Dave Beasant took three players from Manchester City's development squad on season-long loans in the summer. Mathias Bossaerts and Thierry Ambrose are the other two arrivals from the Etihad.

Belgian centre-back Bossaerts has also been a very good player for The Dons so far this season, linking up well with fellow loanee Karleigh Osborne in the four-man back line.

But it is Barker who has caught the eye of most League Two followers - with the wingers bamboozling dribbling skills, as well as his blistering pace, he is an unknown quantity in this division.

His manager, Beasant said this about his winger: "Barker is an immense quality to have in your side. Defenders are too used to the heavy, occasionally fast winger. Barker is every full-backs worst nightmare in this league. He has the dribbling, the pace, the trickery, the crossing ability - he has it all."

But we caught up with the man himself at Moatside training ground after Wimbledon's daily training session: "I'm certainly learning a lot from this move. It's a whole new world for me, I'm used to playing against young lads in the development team matches, but this league requires a lot of experience.

"If you look around you, every team has at least two players over 30 years old in their squad. That makes it easier for me as I'm a bit quicker than most of them, but I have to get past their experience as well.

"I think when I go back to City I'll be a much stronger player as a result of this move here. It's been good so far - a nice challenge."
Great to see him progress into a better player, especially at Wimbledon!
Jer: Bloody hope so :))

CoreyE: Cheers, hopefully they do!!
Brandon Barker looks very interesting for his age, rank pretty good, good luck in the month ahead.

Since the results recently have deteriorated so low, I'm hardly even surprised anymore about how poor this month was for us. We managed to go through into the Second Round of the F.A. Cup via a 3-1 win over Conference South outfit Bath City. In the league, however, it was a much poorer showing - with four points out of a potential fifteen points.

LEAGUE TABLE

Even I was shocked when I saw the league table put our name down into eleventh. Our bad run saw us drop eleven points - dropping six places in the process. Fair enough, we are only two points away from the final playoff spot, but Oxford, Stevenage and Morecambe are even closer, with Barnet potentially coming from behind us.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Karleigh Osborne

The player I chose for Player of the Month was our centre-back Osborne. Although we were leaking goals for fun at the back this month, it would have been a lot more had Osborne not been in our side. The Bristol City loanee was let down mostly by his defensive partners like Bossaerts and Phillips.

NEXT MONTH: DECEMBER

In our final month of 2014, we have the chance to go through into the Third Round of the F.A. Cup, where all the top-flight sides come into play. I can't see us winning too many games in the league either, so we'll have to see the outcome - we are in a very unknown position at the moment.
Looks like you're scuffling. :( But with a little bit of form you can get right back in the mix. Good luck!
