Day 1 as Chelsea Boss
Just a heads up this post is the only one that im going to be full on writing, although this does come with a screenshot at the bottom, I will return to normal posts either later on today or tomorrow morning.
Well what a week! Being appointed as Chelsea boss is a dream come true, I just hope I don't let the fans down especially with me being one myself.
First on my agenda was meeting the staff. I had informed chief scout Piet de Visser that I wanted him to take over with the scouting assignments and he was perfectly happy with the extra responsibility. Next up was Steve Holland, he was straight away asking questions as too how I would like him to function. I must admit I was a bit cocky in saying "Just follow my lead and one day you will become a successful manager too!" He just took it with a grain of salt and headed towards the training ground.
I wasn't taking the first training session as my whole day was just booked with meetings with staff and players alike. I first went to see the players and after some friendly introductions I informed them all that the title would be won this year. Ramires and Filipe Luis were very strong in saying they don't think we have enough to win the league. I pulled them over to one side and asked them "Do you want to be here or do you want to leave, because I cannot have players bringing down the morale." They both told me that they wanted to stay and apologised for there comments.
Next up was Michael Emenalo, the director of football. He called a meeting to find out what sort of transfers I would like and where I think the team needed to be strengthened. I straight away told him the positions I would like.
"Now I know for sure that I would like to strengthen the depth of full backs, as I consider Filipe and Cesar as the only two we have, Branislav is more of a centre back to me. I would also like to get another winger and central attacking midfielder in. Finally I would like a good backup striker that can grow and challenger Diego for the first team. So who would you recommend to me?"
Michael was shocked that I straight away had signalled my intention and actually commented that I seemed way too professional for a beginner. He the proceeded in telling me 12 players that he thinks I should really try and get.
Full Backs: Jetro Willems, Nathanial Clyne, Jean-Daniel Akpa-Akpro and Layvin Kurzawa
Wingers: Jeal-Paul Boetius, Bilal Basacikoglu, Bernard and Ahmed Musa
AMC's: Roberto Firmino, Juan Fernando Quintero and Adam Maher
You may notice that he didn't recommend any strikers. He says that he doesn't think any would be a decent enough back-up too Diego, so straight away I will look for my own and prove him wrong.
After such a stressful day of meetings and idiotic staff members not knowing anything I have finally arrived home. I will definetly come back tomorrow refreshed and ready to shake some things up, after today I might have to get rid of some of the staff aswell.
