Yo everyone. I'm incredibly new to manager story writing and quite ridiculously shocking with computers so bear with me. I've been playing FM since 2009 and as a life long FFC fan I could only really choose one club to give this a go with. No doubt I will be asking the more experienced of you for tips at some point so apologies in advance! I'm starting this at the beginning of the 2015/16 (this) season with updates in place.
Update 11/08/15 - forgot to mention I'm writing this from the point of an embedded journalist within Fulham FC

Shock Move: Selvski Pens Cottage Deal!

After another very disappointing season for the once established Premier League side, Fulham found themselves narrowly avoiding a last day relegation scrap with a couple of late season wins under manager Kit Symons.

Symons was promoted from the U21's to take over from the German horror show that was Felix Magath, and after results began to improve initially, Fulham were quickly back to their inconsistent ways leading to a shaky finish. Though it seemed the Board and the Chairman were giving Kit the summer to bring in some faces of his choosing, in another U-turn, which has become common place for Fulham fans, Symons was inexplicably axed. Rumours are a boardroom bust up sparked the dismissal, however, confirmed reports are yet to emerge.

The Fulham faithful weren't made to wait long for their replacement. Enter stage left, Jacob Selvski. The half Croatian, half English 42 year old has never managed a first team side and his appointment has no doubt left many Fulham fans puzzled. However, if his lack of first team experience is a worry then his coaching ability definitely isn't. London born Selvski has coached under Mourinho at Inter Milan, Scolari at Brazil, Ferguson at United and most recently Guardiola at Barca and then Bayern.

As of yet the only quote we have from the new Fulham boss is, "I am happy to be back home. London is my birthplace and the greatest city in the world. I want to make Fulham the greatest club this city has to offer."

So if Fulham fans can take anything away from this further period of destabilisation it's that Selvski is aiming for the stars!
Fulham, a nice club, not too big, plenty of room to grow, please take good care of Emerson Hyndman. I wish Selvski the best of luck!
Shylax, much love for the comment man! As an actual Fulham fan I'll definitely be using Emi! He's class and well loved at the Cottage!
A great team and tradition, success, and a career as beautiful.
Nice start, good luck - would be nice to see Fulham in the Premier League again, as long as QPR don't come up with you :P
Bebero, thanks dude I hope I can take us to better things!

Tallery, cheers boss! Ah yeah I'll be gutted if they go straight back up!

Selvski Brings His Axe Down Fast On Fulham's Dead Wood

In his first few days of management the new Fulham boss, Jacob Selvski has told 3 players their services are no longer needed, whilst sending others out to gain some first team experience on loan.

In a quick interview with Sky Sport's Mark Dexter at Fulham's Motspur Park training ground, Selvski explained why some players had already been given their marching orders.
"I have come here with a specific style of play in mind. After one or two sessions I knew immediately some players would not be able to step up to meet my expectations."

The Anglo-Croat was also asked specifically about Ryan Tunniclife's homophobic outburst on Twitter. His succinct response will hopefully be a sign of things to come for Fulham.
I will not have those sorts of ideals and thoughts circulating around my dressing room. Ryan may still fit with another club but it will not be Fulham. But really his mistake did not matter, he does not have the ability to play for Fulham.

Ryan Tunnicliffe - axed after outburst

When asked to comment on the nature of his appointment all Selvski had to say was...
I don't care why Mr Khan has given me the job, only that he has. Kit was a great servant to the club and he did his best. I can only try and do my best also.

Players which have been put on the transfer list...
  • Ryan Tunniclife - Awful performance after awful performance and then a homophobic outburst in pre-season really left Selvskii with no choice.
Mesca - Has never lived up to his potential and maybe never will.
Adam Taggart - After a season blighted with injury and a packed forward line with four others ahead in the pecking order, Selvski is probably doing him a favour.

Players who have been offered to clubs on season long loans...
  • Moussa Dembele - no club yet
Jesse Joronen - no club yet
Cameron Burgess - no club yet
Tiago Cassasola - no club yet
Larnel Cole - no club yet
Sean Kavanagh - no club yet

All fairly positive stuff from the new boss. Fulham fans will hope he can transfer his decisiveness to his squad.

Selvski Brings In New Faces

Anglo-Croat Jacob Selvski has not wasted any time bringing in new talent with the season long loan signing of Wellington Silva from Arsenal.

Silva, who spent last season making 31 appearances for Spanish Segunda side Almeria is widely regarded as a promising young winger. However, first team opportunities have been rare for the youngster and this year he looks to ply his trade slightly closer to the gaze of Wenger at promotion hopefuls Fulham.

Silva in action against non-league side Sutton Utd

I caught up with the Fulham boss yesterday and asked him what Silva would bring to the team...
He is quick and very dangerous with the ball at his feet. He played 31 times for Almeria last season so he's not short of game time either. The Championship is definitely a step up from the Spanish Segunda and I feel Wellington can really make an impression here this season.

I also asked Selvski about rumours Fulham have tabled a bid for Matt Phillips, the QPR winger...
We tabled a bid of around 6 million this morning which I think has been accepted. If we can agree on a contract I think he'll be a good addition for us this year. He is not short of quality and played 25 times at the top level last season scoring 3 goals. He will also be a great source of development for Freddy[Plumain] who will push Matt for his place week-in-week-out.

So another action packed day for Jacob Selvski's Fulham with what looks to soon be two new faces in the dressing room. With pre-season almost over and last season's catastrophic start still fresh in their minds the Fulham boys will be desperate to get some early points on the board.

Doing the Impossible: Kostas Persuaded to Stay.

Kostas Mitroglou - persuaded to stay by new boss Jacob Selvski

Since taking the job only a few weeks ago Jacob Selvski already looks to be putting Fulham on the right path. In a shock exclusive, the new Fulham boss told me of his secret midnight meeting with Kostas Mitroglou and the agreement which they have reached together.

I spoke with Kostas at great length last night and we reached an agreement. He will play for Fulham this year and will help us push for promotion. If we do not succeed I will do everything in my power to help him move on when the season ends.

I asked him what magical words it took to keep the Greek powerhouse as it was previously thought that fans would never see him in white again.

I simply asked Kostas where he wants to be in five years time. He told me playing in Europe for a Premier League team. I told him my ambition was the same and that he has the quality to lead us there.

This is great news for the Fulham faithful. Maybe he'll start to repay some of that £12.5m transfer fee...

Pre-Season Ends and the Season Begins

Fulham continued their good form in pre-season rounding the period off with two wins over Dagenham and Redbridge and Portsmouth. These last two results left them with just one loss from to top flight outfit Southampton, Kit's last game in charge.

Game 1:
Burnley 1 - 2 Fulham
Fulham flew out the blocks to hit two first half goals from Dan Burn and Ross McCormack. Burnley hit back on 46 minutes and pressed all second half, going close on a few occasions. The Whites were also reduced to ten men after a LVC was injured with 8mins to play and all subs made, but the defence stood strong for the 3 points.

Game 2:
Fulham 3 - 0 Luton
Another fast start from Fulham with Mitroglou sending a thunderous free-kick in from 30 yards. The game fizzled out a bit until the final 15 mins when youngsters Williams and Eisfield wrapped it up with two quick-fire goals.
Good moves in the transfer market, Kostas will be a good player for you in the Championship
Thanks Tallery. Thought I'd give them the first few games before potentially bringing in one more CB. Any recommendations? I was looking at Figeroa on a free :/

The Season Continues...

Game 3:
Fulham 3 - 2 QPR

In one of the most anticipated games of the season for the Fulham faithful, the Whites superior finishing and movement around the box ensured celebrations would be in full swing on the river tonight. Imposing defender Fernando Amorebieta struck first with a powerful header from Luke Garbutt’s corner. Rangers hit back just three minutes later through prolific striker Charlie Austin but Garbutt silenced the Putney end moments later with a stunning 30 yard free kick to make it 2-1. McCormack made it three on 76 minutes with a cool finish which meant Russell’s 88th minute header was all but a consolation. Garbutt and Amorebieta ran the show today!

Game 4:
Nottingham Forest 0 - 1 Fulham

In a game with 31 shots (16 –Fulham 15- Forest) and an almost equal share of the possession (53% - Fulham 47% - Forest) you’d be forgiven for expecting a high scoring game. In reality the match was a tense affair with very few clear cut chances. The deadlock was finally broken on 71 mins with Amorebieta scoring a near identical header to the one he buried in the previous match, Garbutt again the provider. Once again the two lads at LB and CB bossed the show with 7.9 and 8.1 ratings respectively.

Game 5:
Middlesbrough 1 - 1 Fulham

On a wet and windy Saturday in the North East, Garbutt and Amorebieta ran the show from the back for the third game in a row, occupying providing and goal scoring roles respectively. Up to the 61st minute the game was much like the weather, a drab soggy affair. Enter stage right Amorebieta who latched on to another Luke Garbutt cross to put the Whites ahead. Things went from bad to worse for Middlesbrough on 79 minutes when Kalas was sent off for a second bookable offense, three points was now in clear sight for Fulham. Or it was, until Stewart Downing hit a 35 yard half volley which Bettinelli could only scramble for before watching it nestle in the back of the net. Robbed, but still unbeaten.

Game 6:
Blackburn Rovers 0 - 2 Fulham

Only a few days later and Fulham were in Blackburn for the 1st round of the Capital One Cup. Consistent failure in early rounds of cup competitions for a number of years had Fulham fans fairly pessimistic about this one. That was until Ross McCormack popped up with two goals before half time. Blackburn had a few half chances in the second half but nothing of real note. A good away win for a Fulham side sporting 9 changes, with Phillips, McCormack and Hutchinson putting in 8+ performances. Selvski seems to be using a lot of players with even previously forgotten names making appearances such as Thomas Eisfield.

Game 7:
Fulham 4 - 2 Sheffield Wednesday

Next up was a visit from Sheffield Wednesday in a game that had nearly everything for the neutrals. Amorebieta once again headed home from a Garbutt corner but Bus leveled for the away side just a minute later. Wednesday went 2-1 up ten minutes later through Bus once more, but Tom Cairney ensured the scores were level at the half with his first goal for The Whites. The second half was a different story as Fulham swamped the Wednesday box, Mitroglou finding the breakthrough just 2 minutes in. The game was put to bed ten minutes before time when a fizzing cross came off Lachman’s heels leaving his keeper wrong-footed as the ball trickled in. A Poor defensive performance from Fulham but Cairney showed his class with a good goal and plenty of creative passes.

Transfer Round Up

Plenty out on loan for Fulham and only two permanent signings. Selvski clearly has faith in his squad.
A good start in your story and you have had a strong start in pre-season and the league. I'm not a fan of Phillips, but I do believe he can do the job. I do believe that Mitro staying can count as a signing ;)
Very nice start to the season, good results to get you towards the top of the table. Haidara is another class signing :)
Cheers for the kind words guys! Unfortunately the little one has just arrived so the story is going to have to take a back seat :(
