The Merseyside Rivalry

http://i45.tinypic.com/2lbe5no.png

Hello! I'm back and this time, I'm with someone else! Yes, my good friend CAM LFC 2015 has decided to do an FM Story with me, and we're going full-in! And so, without further ado, I welcome you to our new story together!

If you haven't already noticed, we're going to be playing in England with the teams that have (arguably) the greatest rivalry in the Premier League, Liverpool and Everton.

CAM has chosen to take over his (and my) favourite club, Liverpool. With the new database we are using, which has the new transfers from the recent deadline day, Liverpool now have the likes of Roberto Firmino, Danny Ings and Christian Benteke

And because my favourite club has been taken, I have been forced to take on Everton, with new signings of Tom Cleverley, Ramiro Fumes Mori and Gerard Deulofeu.

We will be playing as current managers Brendan Rodgers and Roberto Martinez, and our main goal is to get a better place than each other on each season.

We hope you all enjoy all of the shenanigans that will be created in this save! So without further ado, let's go!

Everton sign Fenerbahce Midfielder

http://imgz.star.com.tr/imgsdisk/2015/04/09/090420151524512191758_2.jpg

Everton have confirmed the signing of 32 year old Portuguese midfielder Raul Meireles for a fee of 725k from Turkish side Fenerbahce, who had placed him on the transfer list.

In the summer of 2001, Desportivo das Aves from the Liga de Honra (Portuguese second level football competition) signed Meireles on loan from Boavista, and he was presented on 8 July. He made his senior debut on 8 August 2001, in a friendly match against Gondomar, which Desportivo das Aves won 3–0. In his first campaign, Meireles clocked up only 16 league appearances. In the 2002–03 season, on 25 May 2003, he scored his first senior goal against União da Madeira – Meireles fired a shot 30 metres out past the reach of the União goalkeeper. He scored just one goal in twenty-six league appearances that season.

In the 2003–04 season, he returned to Boavista after a two-year loan spell. Meireles made his debut in the Portuguese first league on 17 August 2003 against Benfica, and was chosen as the man of the match by the Portuguese newspaper Record. That season, he failed to score any goals, but he made 29 league appearances, proving that he was important to the team.

On 7 July 2004, FC Porto signed Meireles on a five–year contract, being presented in press conference on 12 July. Wearing the No. 33 shirt, Meireles made his debut on 22 September during a 2004–05 Primeira Liga match against União de Leiria at the Estádio do Dragão, coming off the bench in the 59th minute as they drew 1–1. On 18 February 2005, he made his first match in the starting eleven, in an away league victory against Belenenses. Five days later, on 23 February, Meireles made his Champions League debut in the 1–1 draw against Inter Milan, playing the entire 90 minutes. During that season, he made only 13 league appearances, ten as a substitute, recording no goals. His team eventually finished second of the 2004–05 Primeira Liga table with 62 points, six points shy of Benfica.

On 29 August 2010, Meireles moved to Liverpool for a fee of £11.5 million. He was awarded the No. 4 shirt, which was vacated by Alberto Aquilani, who joined Juventus in Italy on loan. He made his Premier League debut as a substitute, on 12 September 2010, in a 0–0 away draw against Birmingham City. Only four days later, he made his UEFA Europa League debut in a 4–1 victory over Steaua Bucure?ti at Anfield, playing the entire game. He was handed his first league start on 19 September in a 3–2 loss against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

On 16 January 2011, Meireles scored his first goal for Liverpool against Everton in a 2–2 Premier League draw at Anfield, coinciding with Kenny Dalglish's first home game back as manager. His second goal came only six days later, in a 3–0 away win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, when he struck a dipping 25-yard volley into the top corner of the net in the 50th minute. On 2 February 2011, he scored another goal, his third in four games, in a 2–0 home victory against Stoke City, and four days later, Meireles scored the victory goal at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea, after taking advantage of a mix-up between The Blues goalkeeper Petr ?ech and Branislav Ivanovi? to score his fourth goal in five.

With Chelsea in the market for a midfielder following a long-term injury to Michael Essien and an unsuccessful bid to acquire Luka Modri? from Tottenham, On 31 August 2011, Meireles signed for the club on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee reported to be in the region of £12 million. He chose the squad number 16, following the likes of Arjen Robben and manager Roberto Di Matteo, a number he wears regularly when on international duty. Some days later, Meireles claimed he never wanted to leave Liverpool, but that the chance to work with André Villas-Boas, with whom he had spent a short period of time at Porto, was too good an opportunity to turn down.

Meireles made his debut on 10 September 2011 against Sunderland which ended in a 2–1 win for Chelsea with Meireles setting up Daniel Sturridge's goal with a long pass. In the following month, he scored his first Chelsea goal during their UEFA Champions League group stage 5–0 victory against Racing Genk. On 12 December 2011, Meireles scored his first Premier League goal for The Blues in a 2–1 home win over league leaders Manchester City. Three months later, on 7 March 2012, he scored his third goal of the season, this time from a powerful long range effort in the FA Cup fifth round replay victory over Birmingham City.

On 3 September 2012, it was confirmed that Chelsea agreed to sell Meireles to Turkish club Fenerbahçe for £8 million. Meireles earned €3 million in his first season in addition to a €10,000 per-match bonus. On 4 October 2012, Meireles scored his first goal for Fenerbahçe against Borussia Mönchengladbach in a 4–2 UEFA Europa League victory. Meireles scored his second career goal for Fenerbahce against Gençlerbirli?i in a 4–1 Süper Lig victory. Meireles was handed an eleven-match ban by the Turkish Football Federation for spitting at a referee. The alleged actions were followed by accusations of homophobic remarks after he received a second yellow card in the second half of a 2–1 away defeat to rivals Galatasaray. However, the ban was reduced on appeal to 4 games, after the Turkish Football Federation ruled that he could not have spat at the referee, but was still guilty of verbal abuse. On 10 March 2013, Meireles scored once in Fenerbahçe's 4–1 win against Bursaspor.

Liverpool Sign Young Derby Star

http://cdn.images.express.co.uk/img/dynamic/67/590x/will_hughes_getty-443690.jpg

Liverpool have confirmed the signing of 19 year old Will Hughes from Derby for 9.25 m.

Hughes made his debut for the club's reserve team as a 70th minute substitute in a 6–1 Central League win over Walsall and made two additional appearances in the Central League Cup. It was his "outstanding" performance in a 1–0 win over Port Vale reserves in the competition which brought him to Clough's attention for possible inclusion in the Rams first team squad against Peterborough United four days later.

Hughes made his full debut for Derby as a 90th-minute substitute for Jamie Ward. Despite entering the game late with the scores level, there was still time for Hughes first team debut to end in defeat as a 94th-minute goal saw Peterborough win 3–2. In February 2012, he reportedly attracted attention from Manchester City and Manchester United due to his potential to be a world class player.

After Paul Green rejected a contract offer, Clough promoted Hughes to the first team squad for the penultimate game of the 2011–12 season at Portsmouth as his replacement. Hughes started the game on the substitutes bench and came on at the 68th minute, replacing Theo Robinson in a 2–1 win.Hughes started his first game for the first team in the final game of the season, a 1–1 draw against Peterborough United. The performance of Hughes in the match earned praise from Rams manager Nigel Clough. At Derby's awards night, Hughes won the Scholar of the Year Award.

Liverpool Sign Spanish Right Back

http://estaticos03.marca.com/imagenes/2013/05/14/futbol/equipos/celta/1368558790_extras_noticia_foton_7_1.jpg

Liverpool sign young Spanish RB Jonny from LIGA BBVA side Celta for an estimated fee of 6m

Born in Vigo, Galicia, Jonny played youth football with his hometown club Celta de Vigo. He spent his first season as a senior with the reserves in Segunda División B, appearing regularly but suffering team relegation.

Jonny made his La Liga debut for the main squad on 1 September 2012, starting in a 2–0 home win against CA Osasuna. On 5 November he renewed his contract with the club, until 2017.

Jonny was definitely promoted to the main squad at the start of 2013–14, after the arrival of Luis Enrique as coach, and appeared in 26 matches during that campaign. On 19 January 2015 he further extended his link, until 2019.

Everton Bring In Barcelona Prospect

Everton have completed the signing of Barcelona player Rafinha on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Rafinha joined FC Barcelona's youth ranks at the age of 13. On 8 January 2011 he made his professional debuts with the B-team, coming on as a substitute for Jonathan dos Santos in the 55th minute of a 1–2 home loss against Girona FC for the second division championship. Rafinha made his debut with Barcelona main squad on 9 November 2011, taking the place of Cesc Fàbregas for the last 15 minutes of a 1–0 away win against CE L'Hospitalet for the season's Copa del Rey. He finished the league campaign with 39 games – 35 starts – and eight goals for the reserves. On 27 June 2013 Rafinha extended his contract with Barça, keeping him at the club until 2016. A few weeks later, he was loaned to fellow La Liga team Celta de Vigo.

Rafinha made his debut in the main category of Spanish football on 19 August 2013, helping Celta to a 2–2 home draw against RCD Espanyol. He scored his first goal for the Galicians 12 days later, in another draw at the Balaídos (1–1, with Granada CF). Rafinha netted a brace at Real Sociedad on 23 November, but it amounted to nothing as the hosts won it 4–3 with four goals from Carlos Vela. He was voted the league's Breakthrough Player of the Season, ahead of Real Madrid's Jesé and Rayo Vallecano's Saúl Ñíguez.

Rafinha made his top flight debut for Barcelona on 24 August 2014 at the Camp Nou, in Luis Enrique's first match in charge. He played the first half of an eventual 3–0 win over Elche CF before being substituted for Marc Bartra. On 25 November 2014, Rafinha assisted Lionel Messi's goal in a 4–0 win at APOEL Nicosia which made him the outright top scorer in the history of the Champions League; however, Rafinha was sent off for two bookings later on in the match.

Joe Allen heads for London in shock 9.75 m deal

On 10 August 2012 after passing a medical at Melwood,Allen signed a long-term contract with Liverpool in a deal worth £15 million, following manager Brendan Rodgers to Anfield.Made his Premier League debut on 18 August 2012, starting in a 3-0 loss against West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns. He started Liverpool's next game of the league campaign against Manchester City, where he was voted Man of the Match on the club's official website by fans and journalists. He went on to win the Liverpool Player of the Month award for August 2012. He scored his first goal for Liverpool on 27 January 2013, in a 3-2 defeat to Oldham Athletic in the fourth round of the FA Cup.[21] He scored his first European goal on 21 February 2013, in a 3-1 win over Zenit St. Petersburg in the UEFA Europa League. On 20 March 2013, it was announced that Allen would be ruled out for the remainder of the 2012–13 season, with him requiring surgery on his left shoulder.

On 5 May 2014 Allen scored his first goal for Liverpool in the 2013–14 Premier League season with a header from a corner to give Liverpool the lead in a 3-3 draw against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Throughout the 2014-15 season Allen was criticised by fans for his performance in the matches where he played and he also got injured in between. Allen was praised when he played the full 90 minutes in a 2-1 win against Manchester City, where he outplayed City star Yaya Toure.

On 13 April, Allen scored the second goal in a 2-0 win over Newcastle, which was also his first goal at Anfield.

Before the start of the 2015-16 season, Allen got injured in one of the pre-season matches and was ruled out for a month.
Best of luck! Don't know how Allen is rated in your update in FM, but for me he is class!
Allen just never cuts it for me even after playing him for 30 or more games a season he just always seems to disappoint.
Really good idea to have multiple writers. Good stuff!

Two Depart From Goodison Park

http://i3.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article4885061.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/Arouna-Kone-celebrates-after-scoring-the-first-goal.jpg

Everton FC have confirmed the departures of two members of their squad, with both Bryan Oviedo and Arouna Kone leaving Merseyside to join Midlands side Aston Villa.

Born in Anyama, Koné started his football career with Rio Sport d'Anyama, a club based in his hometown. In the 2002–03 season, aged just 18, he signed for Lierse S.K. in Belgium, being the team's top scorer as it finished fifth. He moved to the Netherlands in the following off-season and joined Roda JC, scoring double digits in two consecutive Eredivisie campaigns including a career-best of 15 goals in 2004–05.

Koné continued in the Netherlands and joined national powerhouse PSV Eindhoven in the 2005 summer, netting 11 goals in his first year and nine in the first part of the following, partnering well up front with Peruvian Jefferson Farfán. He also competed in the 2005–06 UEFA Champions League, scoring a vital winner in the 2–1 away success against Galatasaray SK, and his successful 2006 finished on a high note as he was nominated for the Ivorian Football of the Year award, an accolade eventually won by Didier Drogba; in May of the following year, after several weeks sidelined due to injury, he picked his second consecutive national championship-winners medal.

Koné endured a difficult start to PSV's 2007–08 season: due to a date mix-up, he returned late to pre-season training following a holiday in his country, thus missing out on valuable time to prepare for the new campaign. Added to this, the player was struck down with malaria at the end of July 2007, In August, it was announced that he had returned to training following his health scare, and was expected to be fit in time for the team's first league game against Heracles Almelo on the 19th –he also immediately returned to international duty.

On the 30th of August the year 2007, after reported interest from Premier League side Middlesbrough had been observing Koné, Sevilla FC signed Koné on a five-year deal for a fee reported to be €12 million. He made his league debut on 16 September, as a second-half substitute for Frédéric Kanouté in a 4–1 win against Recreativo de Huelva – he won a penalty in the game, but fellow striker Aleksandr Kerzhakov failed to convert. Nine days later he scored his first goal for the Spaniards, helping the team come from behind 0–2 against RCD Espanyol to tie it 2–2, in an eventual 2–3 home loss; on 2 October, he netted his first UEFA Champions League goal for the club, in a 4–2 group stage win against SK Slavia Prague after only ten minutes on the pitch.

On 14 August 2012, Koné signed a three-year contract with Premier League side Wigan Athletic, for a reported fee of €3.5 million. Wigan beat off competition from a number of other English clubs, with the striker being persuaded to sign due to the team's passing style of play. He scored his first league goal in his second match and his first start, an 89th minute strike against Southampton for the final goal in a 2–0 away win. He netted a brace in the 4–1 defeat of Huddersfield Town in the fifth round of the FA Cup, on 17 February 2013, and added another two in his side's next match, a 3–0 league win at Reading.

On 8 July 2013, Everton confirmed the signing of Koné on a three-year deal, for an undisclosed fee.[34] He made his debut on 17 August, coming on as an 81st-minute substitute in a 2–2 draw at Norwich City. In October, he suffered a knee cartilage injury and did not play again for the rest of the season. Returning on the 24th of December 2014, he netted his first goal for Everton against Newcastle United in the early stages of a 3-2 defeat. On the opening day of the 2015/16 Premier League season, Arouna came off the bench to assist and score to help Everton secure a 2-2 draw against Watford FC. His performance was rewarded with a start away at Southampton, which was a 3-0 win in which the Ivorian recorded a superb assist. In the words of the man himself, "Today has been good. Lived to my expectation."

Farewell, Oviedo: Bryan Oviedo leaves Merseyside to join Premier League rivals Aston Villa.

After his outstanding performance in 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt, he had the opportunity to play in the first team, playing some games before leaving for Europe. In early 2010 he began his European adventure, Copenhagen buying his services until 2013. In his first months, he was loaned to FC Nordsjælland and had more participation, even managed to win the 2010–11 Danish Cup. Bryan returned again to the Danish capital for the 2011–2012 season, and made his first official team appearance on 5 May 2010, when Copenhagen finally secured the Danish championship with a 4–0 victory against HB Køge. In the first half of the 2011–2012 season, he managed to break into the starting lineup, benching Pierre Bengtsson.

On 31 August 2012, Oviedo signed for English Premier League side Everton for an undisclosed fee. He made his debut as an 85th minute substitute during a 3–0 away league win over Swansea City in September. Oviedo was very much a squad player during his first season with Everton as he made 15 league appearances, 14 of those as a substitute. In 2012, in a starting 11 against Norwich City, Oviedo picked up his first assist for the club. He scored his first goal for Everton on 30 November 2013 in a 4–0 win over Stoke City, also picking up an assist. Four days later he scored against Manchester United in the 86th minute in a 1–0 win, leading Everton to their first win at Old Trafford in 21 years.

On 25 January 2014, Oviedo suffered a broken left leg 18 minutes into the Stevenage vs Everton FA Cup Fourth Round tie. He sustained the injury from a tackle on Stevenage midfielder Simon Heslop, a clean break to both his tibia and fibula. Immediately after the game, speaking to BT Sport, Everton manager Roberto Martínez said "A real negative today is the unfortunate incident and we need to give Bryan as much support as we can now. He's had a terrific season and I've been very impressed with him. He's an important player in the group and he deserves a speedy recovery.

The injury to Bryan affected everyone. Those type of injuries leave a sick taste." Everton later confirmed that Oviedo would require surgery to heal a double fracture of his left leg. In May 2014, Oviedo said he was unable to recover from his injury in time to be ready for the 2014 World Cup with his national team. Oviedo returned from injury on 23 September in Everton's 3–0 defeat at Swansea City in the second round of the League Cup; he started the match before being replaced after 58 minutes by James McCarthy.

Everton Sign Real Madrid Defender

Everton FC have confirmed the signing of Real Madrid Defender Nacho Fernandez on loan until the end of the season

Born in Madrid, Nacho arrived in Real Madrid's youth system at the age of 11. He made his senior debuts in 2008–09, playing two games with the reserves in Segunda División B and subsequently appearing in a further two full seasons in the category.

On 23 April 2011 Nacho made his first-team – and La Liga – debut, starting as a left back in a 3–6 away win against Valencia CF, and playing in the entire match. His second appearance came the following week, in a 2–3 home loss to Real Zaragoza. Nacho was one of the youth team players chosen to accompany the first team on their summer friendlies in North America, prior to the start of the 2011–12 campaign. He came on as a substitute in all three matches, against the Los Angeles Galaxy, C.D. Guadalajara and Philadelphia Union.

On 2 September 2012 main squad manager José Mourinho announced that Nacho, along with Álvaro Morata and Jesús, would be promoted to the first team, but continue to play with Castilla. He became an official full-time first team member at the start of 2013–14, receiving the number 18 shirt after the departure of Raúl Albiol. On 3 July 2014, Nacho signed a new contract with Real Madrid until 2021. He scored his first official goal with the main squad on 10 January of the following year, closing the score in a 3–0 home victory against RCD Espanyol.

Juan Jesus seals reds move on deadline day

http://www.italianfootballdaily.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Jesus_MG14521.jpg
Liverpool sign Brazillian hot prospect Juan Jesus from Inter Milan for 12.5m, could this then mean the end of Liverpool's other centre back Dejan Lovren?

On 30 January 2012, Juan Jesus joined Serie A club Internazionale. He made his first Serie A appearance for Inter on 13 May 2012, in the 1–3 loss against Lazio after coming on as a last-minute substitute for Diego Milito.

During the 2012–13 season, Juan Jesus emerged as part of Inter's first choice starting eleven, featuring alongside Andrea Ranocchia and Walter Samuel in a 3-5-2 system. He scored his first goal on 19 May 2013, in a 2–5 home defeat to Udinese in the last match of the season. He ended the season with 44 appearances in all competitions, including 31 in Serie A with Inter who finished the season in a disappointing 9th place, failed to qualify in neither UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League.

On 12 July 2013, Juan Jesus took the number 5 shirt, after the departure of Dejan Stankovi?. In August 2013, he captained Inter for the first time in a friendy match against Real Madrid in United States, finished in a 3–0 loss.

On 24 September 2013, he renewed his contract with Inter until 2018 with a wage 1,2 million € a year.

Juan Jesus made his 100th appearance for Inter on 4 February 2015 in a game against Napoli for quarter-final of Coppa Italia, where Nerazzurri lost the match 0–1 at Stadio San Paolo thanks to late winner from Gonzalo Higuain.
