Boreham Wood Monthly Report

TO: DAYTON LYNCH
FROM: ANALYSIS

OCTOBER PERFORMANCE
Overview:
We're concerned about this month's performances - despite a couple of injuries, the side should have been strong enough to pick up some points here, but we've not been. Teams are getting on top of us early in the game, scoring early goals, and we've not got the legs to get back into the match.

Accordingly, we've moved our training focus to be largely fitness based, with training on our defensive positioning before matches to keep the defence sharp, and hopefully pick up more points going forward.

NOVEMBER PERFORMANCE
Overview:
A much stronger this month, with only two defeats - one coming against Wigan in the 1st Round replay, after a brilliant 0-0 draw against them earlier in the month. If we can continue to display the kind of ruthless edge we showed against Chester and Altrincham, we'll be in a great position going into the New Year.

DECEMBER PERFORMANCE
Overview:
We've really picked up this month, clearing our first unbeaten month of the season through sheer determination and strength of character. We're slightly concerned about the amount of red cards, and injuries, that we're picking up - but that could be town to the lads' willingness to fight for the shirt.

Reading Trio confirm Boreham Loan Deals

http://i4.getsurrey.co.uk/incoming/article10031452.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200/Harry-Cardwell.jpg
19 Year old Scot Harry Cardwell is one of 4 Reading Players now on loan at Boreham Wood

Under new manager Dayton Lynch, Boreham Wood have established themselves quickly in the Vanarama National, currently sitting 4th, on 50 points, having won 14 of their 30 games this season, and losing only 8 times.

With 18 league games still to play, Lynch has had to act quickly to bolster his squad, with 4 first team players currently out injured. Stuart Moore, Borehams first choice goal keeper this season, is a Reading Loanee, and he is now joined at the club by Lisandro Semedo, Andy Rinomhota and Harry Cardwell.

Some fans have expressed concern that Lynch has not strengthened in defence, but that area of the team has tightened up significantly, and Lynch clearly feels that scoring, rather than not conceding, is the way to go.

How will these new faces impact on Boreham Wood's season? Only time will tell.

JANUARY PERFORMANCE
Overview:
We rolled through a second unbeaten month in a row, coming away with 3 draws and 3 wins from the six games we played, including a replay win over Eastleigh in the FA Trophy. We've really demonstrated some great play, especially on the attacking front. The focus on fitness in training is paying off too, as we seem more capable of making it to the end of the game and remaining competitive, which gives us an edge when we're trying to close out a game.

MARCH PERFORMANCE
Overview:
We're really getting to the business end of the season now, and our showing in the league so far has been excellent - we lost only 1 of our 5 league games this month, which leaves us in a really strong position to make the play-offs. There's a lot of work still to be done, but with our loan signings really starting to gel, we're looking like we've got the tools at our disposal to pull this off.
