Wigan have confirmed that Gary Caldwell will not stay in charge of the Npower league 1 side. The former premier league side were relegated from the premier league in 2013, and were relegated to League 1 just two seasons later. Last season, neither Uwe Rosler or Malky Mackay could keep the latics afloat, and Caldwell has now departed after failing to keep the club up.
"I love the club." Caldwell told ESPN. "But they need a new person to come in, take the helm and guide them now. I know that."
Rumours are strife over who will take charge. Paul Jewell has been rumoured to take over, as has surprisingly Roy Keane and former Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo.
