Breaking News from Goodisoon Park
I stand here outside the home of Everton Football Club Where Tim Cahill has just
announced that after weeks and weeks of speculation John Stones and Ross Barkley are both staying at the club despite bids from Chelsea, City and United both players will be staying at Everton this season and will be signing new contracts in the near future.
In other news both Steven Pienaar and Steven Naismith have been offered new contracts by the new manager but still no new contract for long serving player Leon Osman, how ever it is rumoured that Tim wants to add Leon to his back room staff and with Blackburn coming in for Jones are Everton going to have two fan favourites calling the shots here?

Bill - "It cant be done Tim the wage bill is high enough as it is we have give you by far enough funds to work with"

Tim - "No Bill you Have not. We haven't even started pre-season yet and he already have 7 players out with long term injury's"

Bill - "Look Tim it cant be done and if you cant work with what we have give you then maybe you aren't the right man for the job!"

Oviedo on the move
It was announced that Tim Cahill had said that Bryan Oviedo will not be leaving Everton in this window, but it has been confirmed he is joining Palace for a deal worth around £4.9 million. its also been announced today that Everton's assist manager Graeme Jones has joined Blackburn Rovers on a one year deal as there manager. The leading candidates to replace him are Leon Osman, Andy Johnson, Dave Watson, Nevil Southall, and Duncan Ferguson, So they are the outs for the blues and so far there is only one in, they have signed Angle Correa on a season long lone from Atletico Madrid they young argentine shows great pace and very skilful feet he will certainly cause problems for defences this season.

Bill - "As you know Graeme has joined Blackburn and that has left you with no assistant"

Tim - "I Know don't worry am sorting it, I have a few people lined up to come in and help me, all pervious players who love this club, Leon and big Dunc being favourites at the min"

Bill - "No need Tim we have sorted it, This is your new assistant, Tim meet Mr Terry Burton, he is an excellent assistant and am sure he can help you find your feet as a manager"

Tim - "No offence Bill but am I even the manager of this club or am I just a face? because it seems to me am just here to make you look good hiring an ex player for the club. I asked for more wage budget you said no, I try to sort a new assistant you go and find one behind my back!"

Bill - "Yes you are the manager Tim but we just felt it right to get someone in for at least a year to help you find your feet"

Tim and Terry - " Yes Boss"

Bill - "Oh and Tim Give Terry a nice introduction to the team. Thanks"

End Of Pre-Season Review

Welcome to Everton Tv. Today we will be going over Everton's Pre-season review and getting in your thoughts on how it went, to get involved text ETV and how you felt about pre-season to 378956 or tweet us @ETV with the hash tag #PRE-SEASON.

Everton's First game was against Shijiazhuang Yonhchang to which the blues came out with a 3-1. Despite the win with goals from Mirallas, Lukaku and jags Everton still looked very shaky and struggled to keep hold of the ball.

The Blues then played again 4 days later against Guangzhou Evergrande where they again struggled and where lucky to come out with just a 1-1 draw with Kone opening the scoring on the 15th minute mark but Ricardo Gualet pulling one back late on for the home side.

The 3rd Pre-season game showed just how much Everton have struggled with a 4-1 defeat to Hamburg goals from Holtby and a hat-trick from Lassoga where enough to put the blues to real shame.

The last pre-season game was played Shanghai Shenxin to which the Blues game out with a 1-0 win with a late goal from Kone, despite the Blues having 17 shots to Shanghai's 4 it wasn't a true factor of how the game went, once again the blues struggled to keep hold of the ball and looked very hesitant when in possession.

So that concludes our report on Pre-season, to share your thoughts text ETV and what you thought to 378956 or tweet us @ETV with the hashtag #PRE-SEASON
Good luck!
This pre-season was though, but hopefully you're get better when things start to be for real.
Keep it up, and let's go Everton :)

First game of the season

Welcome to sky sports 1, Today we have the first game of the season for new Everton boss Tim Cahill and joining me for the live action is form Liverpool player and Turn coat is Jamie Carragher and next to him we have former Everton player and team mate of Tim, Andy Johnson.

So andy we will start with you, what do you think of the appointment of Tim to manage Everton?

Well he was a fabulous player in his days here and he always seemed to bull Everton out of stick, he was always the first and last voice you heard as you walked on to the pitch weather that be at Goodison or Anfield he made sure he was heard fro here ever he was. I think it might be abit too soonn to give him a job like Everton but do I think he will fail? no, I don't think he will fail but I think it will take him abit of time to succeed and sometimes that can cause problems for fans when there team is succeeding how they was hoping they start to turn on the players they start to turn on the manager but I think that they just need to give Tim some time and he can work his magic, and drill in to the players how he wants them to play.

Thank you Andy, now Jamie how do you fell about his appointment as a former rival?

Well I don't think its necessarily a bad choice but do I think its a great one? no like Andy said if you don't succeed fans can turn on you and I don't think Tim has what it takes to succeed as of yet, I mean Everton is a big job to take on and its not going to be easy! he was once a great player here, I played against him many times and the fans loved him but will they feel the same about him as a manager I doubt it.

Thank you Jamie, as we edge closer and closer to kick off time lets look at the line ups from both teams today

Everton going with a 4-3-1-2 look to play a little narrow but I suspect that Coleman and Galloway will be bursting down them wings looking to put in crosses

Southampton on the other hand playing a simple 4-4-1-1, they will be looking to get that ball in to Pelle as fast as they can and trying to take advantage of Everton's narrow system
Interesting tactical look. I'm surprised that you kept Osman in the lineup, but I've never been the sentimental type, and you do have a lot of injuries to start off with, so no Besic, etc. Galloway is more of a CB than a LB but he is a good early-season fill-in for Baines. Hopefully it works out for you, and I wonder what signings you'll make, although money is an issue.

We are here today live at Goodison park for Everton vs Southampton

KICK OFF- Everton get the game underway

1-10 minutes - Everton seem to be passing the ball around a lot in midfield, its here with Osman finds Galloway looks to run in to the space on the left flank feeds a ball through to Barkley, Barkley its Caulker bursting run towards the box, SHOOTS!, straight in to the hands of Stekelenburg.

10-20 minutes - Southampton on the break now, Mane plays a ball back to wanyama takes a touch to trun and plays a ball through to Davis, first time ball over the top to Pelle hes onside first time shot! of the inside of the post and Coleman clears, should of been 1-0 Southampton there.

20-30 minutes - No more real chances from either side but Everton dominating play in the middle of the park.

HALF TIME - Still 0-0 here at Goodison park, one change at half time for Everton, Correa comes on in place of Barkley.

45-55 minutes - Southampton started the second half off a lot better doing well to pass the ball around but a mad mistake from mane gives the ball to Coleman

55-60 minutes - Coleman burst down the Right flank plays a ball through to Correa who takes a touch and beats his man, ball through the centre to Lukaku who plays a ball over the top to Kone, Kone takes it out wide hes got Lukaku with a great run in to the box, Kone plays it in LUKAKU.... oh deflection of Van Dijk puts the ball past Stekelenburg and its Everton 1-0

75-80 minutes - Wanyama plays a lovely ball between Jags and Stones, Pelle burst through and Shoots!.... great save by Howard and Hangs on to the ball.

85-90 minutes - Davis now, plays to Pelle, Pelle back to Davis, Pelle turns his man and Davis ball over the top Pelle is onside again surly he must score this time.... Another great save from Howard tipping the ball over the bar, Corner Kick. The ball is whipped in but Stones heads away and that's full time. Tim Cahill wins on his managerial debut!

Man of the match
Graziano Pelle- made some fantastic runs in and around the area causing real problems for Everton, very unlucky not to score.

THE 2ND ROUND DRAW

haydock101's avatar Group haydock101
9 yearsEdited

The next game could of gone slightly better for Everton with a 2-1 defeat to west ham, the blues looked poor all the way through the game and where punished for sloppy play with both goals, the next tie seen the blues take on the red devils, another game where Everton looked sloppy and where probably lucky to get a point out of the game.

Everton then faced mk dons in the capital one cup 2nd round, looking strong through out Cahills men where unlucky not to put the ball in the back of the net more with chances from Kone, Barkley and Lukaku all forcing great saves from the keeper. Everton have been drawn against united in the 3rd round

Another poor game from Everton seen them punished once again by West brom this time, Everton fails to keep possession and when they had it give it away very easy. which then lead to the next game agasint Newcastle whee it finshed 0-0 both teams created chances but Newcastle having the better one with ayoze hitting the wood work from a bullet header.

Everton then got a fantastic when against Chelsea, despite Chelsea dominating most of the play Ross Barkley managed to find the back of the net twice against the team who so desperately want him

A lot of people would of put money on Everton being knocked out of the Capital one cup by United but The Toffies cropped up with another surprise win, and with the injury list getting smaller Everton are starting to look more and more solid
