I don't really know how to help you because i have the same problem:( but i don't really mind that i have it...

I play with Villa, and of course Carew is my target man and Agbonlahor is fast striker (i think he is put as advanced striker in attack) well anyways, Agbonlahor scored 34 in 35 games and i top scorrer in Prem, while Carew although is amazing for target man scored only 9 or 10, don't remember...

But as you said, I made the most of it, took Carew out, changed my formation to 4-2-3-1 deep (with DM's) and Agbonlahor still plays amazing, but the best part is, when i put Carew instead and tick target man and supply to head, he is surprisingly good...

So I think that if the tactic with target man doesn't work for you, don't use it, use what is best for your team because success of your team depends on all players, so if you have one weak link whole chain breaks, play with fast strikers if your team wins, why would you change something that is good??

For example, i like fast, fluid football with direct passes, wide, i like to use my wingers a lot, and 4-2-3-1 is a formation that i use almost in every game since fm05, of course when it suits the team well, if it doesn't 4-4-2 and 4-4-2 diamond...I experimented a lot with different tactics and approaches in earlier FM's but when I find a winning formula i don't tend to change it...So if it works for you stick with it, if i doesn't you should experiment till you find what does...

Hope i was of any help...cheers:beer
I have a question on training youngsters. At what age will a young gun stop developing, for example if he aint worldclass by 23 or something will he ever get there? I have a guy called roubakis and according to genie scout and macsx he has a potential of 190 but at 22 he aint that good, he has average stats ideal for a backup play, will he ever reach his potential at this age? and secondly is it beast to send them out on loan to some championship team or league 1 for example or keep them in the u18 or reserves?

There are two things to consider, IMO.

First, how much time will the player get on the pitch? Obviously, if your player isn't good enough to fill in as a sub or maybe feature on you reserve/u18 team, I would send them out on loan.

However...

You should look at the potential team you would loan your player to, and namely their training/youth facilities and coaches. Getting a player time on the pitch is wonderful for their development. Getting a player proper coaching and facilities can be equally important.

Well, I believe that a player develops faster with more games under his belt. And whether he would ever reach his potential of 190 really depends on the determination and ambition(hidden stat). So if the two stats are relatively low, the chances of him growing to the potential would be lower of course. I've got players that are about 26 years old and still growing, even though the rate is quite slow.

Hope this info helps.
thanks, guess i will stick with him for a few years see what more happens.
Hi! I'm managing Steaua Bucharest.I use a 4-4-2 diamond tactic with these modifications http://www.fmscout.com/t-12983-Back.html#12983.My strikers (Kapetanos, Stancu,Amusan, Surdu)are not scoring, I have many many occasions but they shoot straight in the GK, I receive many goals because it's always a big gap between my 2 DCs (Rafael Toloi and Ghionea/Rada), I also receive many goals from distance (25-30 yards), my DMC (Tiberiu Ghioane)is most of the times ineffective, he is always away from the man with the ball even if I set him to mark some players and to close down very often. When the opponents have the ball my players don't attack them, they just wait them to advance with the ball.My AMC (Wesley from FC Vaslui or Toja) can't find a way to pass to my strikers and they always take the ball on the flanks or pass back to my DM.Please help!
I got bored of managing Liverpool because it was too easy so i decided to manage Fulham.

Team - Fulham
Current Formation - 4-4-2 Diamond
Philosophy - Rigid
Starting Stradegy - Control

As it is my first time playing Fulham I have noticed that i concede alot of goals and most of them being really stupid ones to concede. I am not sure what formation to be using or philosophy or anything! I need help from all aspects - formation, philossphy, stradegy, player instructions, team instructions. I cant score that many goals either and my defending at times is really bad. I know nothing about how to use Fulham so all help is greatly appreciated.
Hey guys, is there a good training schedule for pre-season and also a training schedule for the youth team? A good one with obvious results!

Thanks!
