My Introduction

Well bonjour my friends allow me to introduce myself. The name is Marc-Édouard Gagné and I am a former professional footballer from Strasbourg, France. During my time as a player I played between 2002-2013 as a professional. Most of my time was spent in France with Strasbourg except for a year in the United States with DC United.

Well after the 2013 season I decided to retire. This was honestly a hard decision because I have been playing football pretty much my whole life. So since retiring I have done many interesting things and have traveled as well. Retirement has been nice but it is time to get back into the sport.

Around the summer of 2014 I made a major decision and it is to get a coaching license and to start off my second football based career management. It took me about a year or so to finish getting my initial coaching badge.

For me my main goal is to coach Strasbourg but for me I want to become the best French manager. Even better than ex Strasbourg player Arsène Wenger. For this I don't mind traveling around the world to become successful. That would be pretty cool going to different places to coach.

I am excited to begin my journey into management......
Good luck man!

Gagné appointed as new AS Cannes manager
Former RC Strasbourg superstar gets first coaching gig in Cannes
20/6/2015

A few weeks into the search for a new manager AS Cannes chairman Ziad Fakhri has announced the new man. In May manager Jean-marc Pilorgetwas fired over the lack of positive results since he joined in 2012. The hiring of Gagné has not really made any buzz due to the clubs small stature but supporters and members of the Cannes community are pleased to have a new manager with youth on his side.

The new man in charge is 31 year old Marc-Édouard Gagné. Gangé is a former professional football player who's career lasted from 1998 until the end of the 2012/13 season. He has played for several clubs including, RC Strasbourg and DC United. After a short stint in America Gangé would return to RC Strasbourg where he helped them gain promotion to the 2013/14 Championnat National. He represented France many times in both the U19 and U23 squads. Also he was capped at three times with the senior team.

When word reached Gangé that he had been hired he sent out a statement saying, "I am excited for my next stage in my career, it has been fun playing now I get to experience the sport form a different side." He would continue by saying, Cannes is a club full of legends like Zidane, Vieira and Clichy I want to find the next best player to come through here" Finally Gangé stated that he wants Cannes to the the next big thing in France, "If Lyon can come from nowhere we can too, The town is known for films and soon it will be a football hotbed"

Cannes have been struggling due to financial issues and could close within the year. Will someone come save them or will Gangé's tour here be shorter than expected.
Good luck with this, mate!

cool update, this is going to be a classic story :)

Beginning Observations

So it has been a few weeks in my first ever coaching job and I really like it so far. The team is really good and I think we might have what it takes to return to the CFA. I have meet with the owners and players several times and everyone is very nice.

A few days ago we had a nice little welcoming party for me. The supporters seem eager to see me bring the club back to what they were before the team was kicked out due to financial issues. The crazy thing is that Zidane even sent an email congratulating me and wishing me luck.

Well everyone reports to preseason training in a day and I look forward to it. For my tactic I am leaning towards either a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3 as my base to play. We will see how things work out in the next few days. I have been studying film of Laurent Blanc on how he works with PSG. For some reason I have always though he is a very underrated manager and can't wait to face him.

Finally I want to discuss the preseason friendlies we play. They are going to be insane honestly. During the preseason period we are facing six clubs. Lille and Montplellier Reserves and Mainz are the most notable matches. Both will be at home so hopefully the club can get some good income. The results though won't really matter as long as we keep to the game plan and work hard.
Starting very well, mate :)
