Welcome Ladies and Gentleman.
We are live in Frankfurt as the Hessenderby is back. Eintracht Frankfurt hosts Darmstadt. The two teams couldn’t be more different. On one side, the big club Eintracht Frankfurt. The club of the fith biggest town in Germany with 717.000 inhabitants dreams of the Europa Cup every season although they mostly get disappointed. On the other hand, Darmstadt. With only 150.000 inhabitants, the town is a bit like the Gaulish Village of the Bundesliga. But this difference is what makes the Derby so special.
With that being said, we are taking a look on the 22 man that shall bring glory to their towns.



It’s a great evening and there is a great atmosphere in the stadium as well. Just take a look on this beautiful display of the Frankfurt fans.

With just one-and-a-half weeks to go, many Bundesliga teams will still look to improve their squads.
We take a look on the options the teams have:

Eintracht Frankfurt: With a remaining budget of only €2.5 million, there isn’t much left to invest for Frankfurt. But there are still some players Armin Veh should take a look at:

- Louis Schaub: The offensiv midfielder of Austrian side Rapid Wien can play every offensiv position in midfield and would be a great addition tot he young and hungry age due to being only 20 years old. The problem there coul be the price that could be around €6 million.

- Alexander Baumjohann: A similar player as Schaub but much older. The 28-year old currently plays for Hertha BSC Berlin but there are rumours that he is not happy there. The experience offensive player could cost about €1.5 million.

- Mensur Mujdza: The experienced right back would be a great rotation player fort he right side. He can play as a right midfielder an das a full back. With the lack of options Veh has on this positions, Mudjdza could be an important addition and wouldn't cost more than 1 million euros.

-Michael Madl: The Austrian full back of Sturm Graz can play on both defensive sides and would be available for around €500.000. The 27-year old would bring some more depth on both defensive sides.

Will he leave?

Eintracht Frankfurt’s striker Haris Seferovic is reportedly wanted by Borussia Dortmund. The striker scored 2 goals in the Eagles' cup win against Unterhaching but is still waiting for his first Bundesliga goal of the season. The striker's value is around 10 million euros, some money Frankfurt could use to bring in some new talent. We will keep you up to date.

3/34: Eintracht Frankfurt - Hannover 96

After their two wins in the previous games of the season, Frankfurt went into the game confidently. And it looked as their streak would continue as they scored only seconds after kick-off. Haris Seferovic picked up a great through-ball from Stendera and hammered it in the back of the net. After that start, both teams weren't able to creat more chances and so Frankfurt got into half time with a 1-0 lead.

The second half started with a bang as well. Zambrano fouled Benschop inside the box, just minutes after the referee blew his whistle. Zambrano conceded the red card. It was the fouled man himself who stept up to take the penalty. And - Hradecky saved it! Hannover dominated the second half after the red card decision but wasn't able to score the equaliser because of Hradecky's outstanding performance. Frankfurt got their second 25th minutes before the end. Stendera's long ball was reached by Seferovic who dribbled past 3 defenders at the edge of the box and chipped it into the goal.

Seferovic reacts to BVB rumours

The striker said in an interview following Eintracht's 2-0 win over Hannover, in which the Swiss scored both goals, that "he is in love with the club". He indicated as well to his performance and claimed that "nobody who feels unhappy at a club scores two goals in one game".
It seems like the Eintracht - Seferovic love-story will be continued.

2 in, 2 out!

signs for Eintracht Frankfurt from Bundesliga rival Hertha BSC Berlin for a fee of €1.1 million. The 28-year old winger can play in the center as well and will give both, Gacinovic and Stendera some load removal as both were without a fit back-up until now. He signed a contract until 2018.
leaves Freiburg for a fee of €800.000 and will be a great back-up for right back Chandler. Veh said that „Mujdza has, despite his age (31), the quality to put some pressure on Chandler“. The experienced Bosnian signed a contract until 2017.

Luca Waldschmidt joins 2. Bundesliga side Eintracht Braunschweig on loan until the end of the season. The player is believed tob e a valuable first-team member there and will look to earn some minutes to get back into the Frankfurt side when he returns.

Winger Gerezigher leaves Eintracht Frankfurt to join 2. Bundesliga side Duisburg on loan until the end of the season. He is seen as a key player there and will look to improve his abilities there as he „isn’t good enough“ for the Eintracht Frankfurt team yet.

4/34: FC Schalke 04 - Eintracht Frankfurt

Although both teams are undefeated this season, the mood of the visitors might be much better than the home side's as Schalke failed to win a game so far this season.
But Schalke tried everything to get their first win. Chances minute by minute but Huntelaar and di Santo failed to hit the target. And so it was Frankfurt that almost took the lead. Seferovic picked up an Russ clearance and run towards goal but his goal was denied by the post. So the game went into half time without a goal.
The second half was pretty similar to the first half. Chances after chances but no goals on either side. In the end, Frankfurt got away with a poor performance and secured their 10th point of the season.



5/34: Eintracht Frankfurt - 1. FC Köln

Köln got off to the better start but needed until the 22nd minute to score the 1-0. Leonardo Bittencourt first failed to head in a well timed cross on the far post from Jojic as Hradecky made an spectacular save against his running direction but Bittencourt scored on the rebound to give the lead to the visitors. The game got more intense after the goal and so the referee had to show the yellow card to a number of players.

Frankfurt scored the equaliser 15 minutes after going behind as Castaignos headed in a Baumjohann cross, who only started because of Gacinovic's injury in mid-week. Frankfurt was able to take the lead just before half time as a Stendera free kick found the head of Oczipka who netted his first goal in his first game of the season after returning from injury this week.

Things didn't get easier for Köln as Vogt conceded his second yellow of the game after only 2 played minutes in the second half. From this point on, Frankfurt started to turn up the turbos and overran Köln in just 10 minutes. Firstly, Castaignos scored his second of the night after heading in another Baumjohann cross. Only 6 minutes later, Maroh scored an own goal as he wasn't able to clear an Oczipka cross away. Haris Seferovic finished the job off in the 6oth minute after Baumjohann provided his third assist in his debut game for the club with his through ball to the Switz striker that hasn't had any problem with scoring in his 1-on-1 against Köln's keeper.

6/34: Hertha BSC – Eintracht Frankfurt

Berlin, that still looked for a win at that stage, started the game off brilliantly and scored after just 7 minutes in. But Frankfurt reacted immediately and scored the equaliser in the 9th minute as Seferovic scooped the ball into the net after Castaignos made an unselfish pass to him. But Frankfurt wasn’t able to find the line in the game. And so it was just logical that Beerens scored the winner for Berlin in the 77th minute as he scored the rebound after his first shot was saved by Hradecky.




7/34: Eintracht Frankfurt – Augsburg

Augsburg dominated the first half and got their deserved lead in the 40th minute as Dong-Won finished a great combination oft he visitors. But Frankfurt got better in the second half and got the equaliser in the 70th minute when Castaignos once again assisted for Seferovic. Frankfurt almost won the game but Stendera’s try only hit the outside of the net.

8/34 Borussia Mönchengladbach - Eintracht Frankfurt

Frankfurt was off to a flyer and scored the 1-0 in the first minute through a Russ header after an Stendera corner. The vice-captain scored his first goal of the season. But Gladbach reacted immediately and scored the equaliser in the 4th minute. And Drimic completed his brace just 10 minutes later as he brought the Borussia in front. But it was another Switzman who set the game level again as Seferovic scored the 2-2 in the 55th minute.
Both teams had chances to win the game but in the end, the draw was a fair result.



9/34 Wolfsburg - Eintracht Frankfurt

Wolfsburg dominated the beginning and set the game in the right direction for them as they scored two goals in as many minutes between the 15th and 17th minute. Frankfurt almost got one back but missed too many chances after Wolfsburg took the lead. And the visitors got punished for their missed chances as Naldo headed in the 3-0 in the 41th minute. Although Castaignos got one back just before half time, Frankfurt never had the chance to really put pressure on the Wölfe. Kruse sealed the deal for Wolfsburg as he scores the 4-1 in the 60th minute. Armin Veh rested a few players after that and made 3 changes. And he got punished for that as well as Abraham saw red and Castaignos received a knock and had to go off. Wolfsburg scored their 5th just minutes before the end against 9 men.

10/34: Eintracht Frankfurt - Ingolstadt

Ingolstadt got the lead after 15 minutes in the first half but their celebrations didn't take that long because Gacinovic scored the equaliser with his first ever goal for Frankfurt. But Lex hit Frankfurt back again as he scored the 2-1 just minutes later. Aigner, who made the assist for Gacinovic, gave Frankfurt the equaliser again. Frankfurt got the win in an entertaining game just before the end. Aigner scored his second of the game and of the season and sealed the win for Frankfurt in his 100th appearance for the club.

2nd round: Eintracht Frankfurt - Bochum

Armin Veh rested a few players but his team wasn't able to reload their batteries. Frankfurt wasn’t able to get the win in the first 90 minutes but took the lead in extra time through a Kadlec header. Bochum conceded the equaliser just before the end in the 120th minute. The game went to penalties where Hradecky was the hero for Frankfurt as he saved 3 penalties and helped Frankfurt to progress into the next round.

11/34: VFB Stuttgart - Eintracht Frankfurt

With both teams having tired legs due to their cup clashes in mid-week, there wasn't to much spectacle to expect. And the teams really did everything to euthanize the fans. Not a single shot on target in the first half and the second half barely got better. Stendera missed the biggest chance of the game 1.71 meters small midfielder wasn't able to put enough speed on his header. Armin Veh's return to Stuttgart ended how it had to end, with a boring 0-0 draw.

...the next games: "We have got really taff fixtures until Christmas but I'm confident that we will get out of them with a few points."
