Watford Announce Jay DeMerit as Head Coach
In a surprising turn of events, Watford have announced former captain Jay DeMerit as Head Coach at the club on a one year contract. This follows the news that current Watford Manager Quique Sánchez Flores has stepped down for personal reasons after only a couple of days at the club. While Jay Demerit is surely interested in bringing in young Americans to the first team at the club, it is though his main transfer philosophy is to bring in a large amount of young players between the ages of 18-25.
After speaking in his first interview at the club he said: "I am ready for the challenge ahead: Watford have a good team, supportive owners and are a good blank canvas for me to work with."
When asked if he would be spending the transfer funds available he responded with: "I am certainly interested in couple of players, we need one or two attacking midfield options and a couple of other options. So of course I am interested."
More news to follow shortly.
