And despite Europa League qualification for the second season in a row, owner and president Fernando Roig decided that a change was needed in order for Villarreal to progress.
Having named former B team coach Omar Laska in temporary charge Villarreal are reportedly looking toward former Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti (7/2), Manchester City boss and former Villarreal manager of five years, Manuel Pellegrini (8/1), and current Sevilla boss Unai Emery (12/1).
