August News and Notes
For Bloomington it was an amazing August as the team kicked off their first full month of league play. During this time we faced five teams and accumulated five victories. Three of the five resulted in shutouts but all were blowouts. Honestly that part I can't comprehend as our team really isn't that good, it must be the league that sucks.
Like I said the scores were a bit over the top. This concerns me in a way because it is showing one of two things. The first is that our opponents flat out suck and that is why we are so good. The second is that the USSF made a mistake putting us this low in the system. I have a feeling both Detroit Express and the Michigan Jaguars feel the same as the three of us are on top and our goal differences are at crazy levels with only a month gone by.
Well I can blam,e these crazy stats on striker Victor Brown. As you see hew really doesn't have the attributes to become a star but with his hard work he is. During league play he scored 7 goals that ties him in first for Top Goal Scorer. In Open Cup play Brown has 4 goals. I have a feeling he will be leaving us sometime within the next year and that will suck.
For our first ever USOC match we traveled to Eugene, Oregon and faced the Eugene Timbers. This was a match I was not sure about due to the travel by plane and the two hour time difference. Somehow we overcame these obstacles and won big 7-0. That victory gets us to move on to the next round to face Navajo Nation. This is a very unique team as they are ran by and the players come from the Navajo tribe. I look forward to this match.
Finally September will be busy. The first big event is the closure of the transfer window in a few days. I am not looking to add anyone new so that is finished. Hopefully no higher division teams try to buy our stars. In league play we will be facing seven clubs at the moment. The biggest match in my opinion will be on the 5th as we face Detroit. The express are currently in second with the same record. Only goal difference separates us and that is only by one. In USOC play we will be traveling to Arizona to play Navajo Nation in the First Qualifying Round. We also get to face Chicago Kickers in the Midwest Cup First Round later in the month.
That should do it for now!
(Authors note) Sorry all for not updating for the past two weeks I have been very busy with stuff outside the game
