League Overview
So, I guess its no surprise that ourselves & Sumqayit dominate the biggest deals, although I can tell you that the other clubs do have serious cash to spend.
The Azeri Citizens deal to bring, arguably, the countries best player back to the league is a good one. I looked at Eddy myself but couldn't decide whether he'd fit into our system. In any case, its good to see him back, I'm sure he will do well for them.
The most active team was newly promoted, Qaradag, with a staggering 22 signings!!!
Adalari Business
In all, 11 players have left us. Some for good, others temporarily. Really the only departure of any consequence is the loan of Alan Cardoso, who was the unfortunate victim of a transfer mix up involving Ahmed Hegazi.
The Egyptian come to me, begging to be allowed to discuss terms with Bundesliga club, Franfurt, should a bid arise. One did & after some lengthy negotiations we settled on a deal worth 1M.
Having agreed to terms, I then moved to bring in Leo Jaba, only to discover that Ahmed then rejected Frankfurt's contract offer & left me with 9 foreign players. So I made the decision to loan Cardoso out for the year. A bit of a mix up but hey, we got a Brazilian wonderkid out of it, so who am I to complain?
As far as new arrivals go, there are 7 in total. Lets meet them shall we?
Squad Overview
So here is my final 25 man squad for the upcoming season along with my assistants opinion's on each. I think its a good mix of youth & experience that should serve us well.
Robert Burbano & Leo Jaba stand out as our most promising, while Bilal Sezer is rated our best Azeri.
In all, I think its a squad capable of dominating domestically but we'll need a bit of luck with injuries & a great deal of rotation, especially early on.
When I started this save, I never dreamed of being able to assemble this quality of squad so quickly. I assumed it would take a few years. Whether we prove to be as dominate on the park however is another question altogether, only time will tell on that one.....
