What I usually do is put Rangers in the English League 1 (more exciting than the the Scottish Leagues). Did it last year without any problems. Did exactly the same this year, but I still get entered into the Scottish domestic cups. Played around on the Editor for ages, but still keep getting entered into these Scottish cups. Looked on Google for a solution but to no avail, thought I'd post on here to see if anyone has done the same thing and perhaps knows what I've missed.
