It was a beautiful summer evening in the New Forest, I was walking the dog. I was walking my dachshund along near the stadium called Gang Warily Community & Recreation Centre, it was a very small stadium from what I was used too at national and domestic level. I am used to the centerstage of Elland Road with electric atmosphere and song of Marching On Together ringing in my ears.
A couple of hours later after walking the dog I had heard on the local radio stations non league show that Blackfield & Langley F.C. had sacked manager Glenn Howes over a dispute over pay and a new contract I immediately thought I could apply for the job. So I wrote to the chairman with my football C.V. I had played for Leeds United all my playing life.
