Who will win the 2010 World Cup? (209 votes)
I'm very impressed that nobody is remembered about this name: Portugal

Great team and great players in every position.

Ronaldo & Nani ShowTime! ;)
I voted for Spain even though my all time fav is Argentina, but I think Spain national team is for experienced than the new Argentina players that Maradona has to deal with!
From Argentina squad only Messi can be a match winner, well from Spain all Barca-Madrid-Sevilla-Villarreal players who will participate are match winners plus Cesc Fabregas!
ragamulya : lol, just believe in capello dude

I do... to an extent :) I think he's the best we've had in a long time and we have a great chance. I just can't see us being able to get past a Spain, Brazil or Portugal.

Ah yes, I did completely forget about Portugal! Although, don't be fooled by Nani's recent good form. He's not a great player. If he has a good day then he really looks something, but these days are rare. Ronaldo is someone who will frighten any of the other teams... but do Portugal still have quality in every area?
GK- Eduardo (Braga) - Is a good goalkeeper and we have to give england some rest of Ricardo :)

Defenders: Bosingwa(Chelsea), Carvalho(Chelsea), Bruno Alves(Porto), Duda (Malaga)

Midfielders: Pepe(Real Madrid, his original position is centre defender but he is adapted to this position), Raul Meireles (Porto)/J. Moutinho(Sporting)/Deco(Chelsea)

Forwards: Nani(Man Utd), Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid), Simão(Atl.Madrid), Hugo Almeida(Werder Bremen), Liedson (Sporting)

I think that we have more than sufficient players to a decent world cup, i'm not sure is about the coach, Carlos Queiroz was good but with Ferguson at his side :X
but still i don't think portugal are good enough to be favorite, but who knows about the result, cuz this is football YEAAAH!!! and i always curious about veloso, is he that good? in fm he's godlike
All this talk of England winning is to be expected, it's been that way before every major tournament in the noughties. I think they have a chance, but we'll have to see if they can produce and match up to the big boys (Spain, Brazil etc.). Their defense and GK are the worrying positions right now, I don't think Green is world class, and the loss of Cole, injury-prone Johnson will hamper their quality in defense.

Personally, I think the favorites have got to be Spain and Brazil, I'm planning to be in Madrid for the WC final so that should be nuts! Having said that, with the quality of football ever-improving in less-developed parts of the world, I wouldn't rule out an underdog coming through and winning it - and plus, wouldn't that make for a better story?

PS. Hopefully USA will tear England apart!
i want to Brazil or Portugal to win because they are my favourite nations(of cousrse after Poland) but Spain has good team so they have good chances. And i don't want Germany or England to win.
well i don't think they'll win it, but i think Chile will be the surprise of the tournament ! what do you guys think about them ?
you never know m8
Sorry England fans but today I probably saw the most funniest thing I have ever seen in a World Cup xD

i was watching that game. it was funny and lucky for USA
to be fair I think that these new balls had a big part to do with these calamities, as algeria keeper made a similar misjudgement as well and its impossible to handle well, then also speaking I would prefer james in goal just because hes epic nuff said, and seriously his pompey performances have been extremly good.

but that is not my main worry, neither is the strikers, its carragher he was awful against usa defensivly as he is neither strong nor pacey he is a liability, I would have king or wait anyone apart from him.

I also think the wingers did a shit job relli and proved ineffective, I thought that there were points were we needed someone like wallcott to attack centraly from the wing, and without beckham there are no quality balls, maybe joe cole on the wing?

I think the tornament is going well though like for south africa and everyone involved, got to love those horns btw
i agree with u m8
