The Pentagon Challenge, Brought To You By InfraRed

Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the Pentagon Challenge. Now, i’m sure you’re all aware of what the challenge involves - win the Champions League on all 5 continents, etc, etc.

Generally, this challenge involves starting unemployed, but I cannot stomach the job-hunt, and so i’ve taken a different approach - randomisation. Earlier today, I asked Justice to select a number between 1-50, and he gave me 17. I then asked the computer to give me a random club 17 times, noted the result, and did it again, until I had 5 teams. These were:

Adelaide United
Stranraer
Montpellier HSC
Shenxin
OB

I then returned to Random.org, where I asked for a random number between 1 and 5, and was given 5.

And that, is how South African born German Tomas Fischer, the hero of our story, came to find himself with no footballing qualifications, and no real playing experience, in Europe, getting ready to chase an impossible dream

Good luck Infra! Will be interesting to follow this!
I quite like Denmark and Odense is a good club to start at, full of some real talent. Good luck!
Pentagon Challenge stories seem to very rarely go the distance, I would love to see you do it. Are you planning on maintaining both your stories?
Hope you can go all the way!! Good luck
thanks guys! really appreciate the support!
I will also be looking to continue my Southampton story alongside this, and I think it will benefit from much more in-depth updates :)

Going into the first season of my Pentagon Challenge, It was clear that the squad needed some improvement in key areas, and also some depth. However, we also had a hefty wage budget, spending almost £4k/week over the budget given to us by the board.

I set about clearing out the deadwood from the squad, and looking to bring in some exciting young prospects on loan and on free transfers to bring that depth to the squad. Below, i've included my transfers in and out, and also a screenshot of our financial overview and projections.

Long-term, we are looking at a reasonable increase in our projected balance over the next 3 seasons, which is encouraging. I will obviously have to seek to control costs more as we head towards European competition, which i'm hopeful I can do with Odense within 5 seasons, hopefully less!

Finances: Summary and Projections

Good work to improve the financial state of the club, next step is to bring them to success! :P
Tyias Browning is a good signing, he is a really good youngster for me in my Everton save.
Tyias Browning and Jerome Sinclair should be fantastic additions to your squad on loan! Good luck man!
Some great piece of business from you there. Lucas Jensen is one for the future as well, good to get him out on loan and give him some experience.
I remember completing this challenge on this website a few years ago! The buzz when you finally complete it is really great so I suggest you go all the way with this!
