Miami FC granted access to the NASL

Today is a great day for sports fans in Miami, as the club have been finally been granted access into the NASL.

The club backed by the likes of Paolo Maldini have hopes of becoming an MLS franchise in the future, but for now their goal is to be successful in the NASL.

Paolo Maldini has managed to get a squad together for the incoming season, but has yet to find a manager to take on this project. He is now looking for a manager looking to take on this project and wants a manager to take his club to the top.

More news to come about this story later on today.

Paolo Maldini on joining the NASL

'I'm delighted to have become part of this league, from day 1 when I started this project I wanted this club to play at the highest level we could possibly get to. Of course I'm sad that we lost out on an MLS status to Orlando City, but still I'm very confident we can take the NASL by storm and prove to the MLS directors that we deserve to be an MLS franchise.'

Paolo Maldini on looking for a manager

'We don't want just any manager taking over this club. we want a manager that can bring fresh ideas to the team, and from my playing days, those managers were the type that had little managing experience. So we are looking for a young fresh manager to guide this team to the their first NASL title, and maybe even to a US Open Cup title, who knows?'

The people of Miami are excited about the prospect of finally having a football team they can support, and there's a sense of optimism around Miami at the moment about what this team can achieve.

Maldini announces what he wants to achieve with Miami FC

'When I first formed this club, I didn't even imagine them becoming as big as they are now. But now I have established this club, I want them to be known all around the world, I want this to be one of the biggest clubs in the world. I'm willing to invest as much money as a can into the club and will be doing so, so that this club can achieve its goals. I only look to bring the best players I can to this club. I know it will be tough at first, but as the seasons go by, I think you will be seeing big names at this club.'

As for the manager, we are still yet to decide, this is a difficult process for us. We want a manager we can stick by for long term and firmly believes in this clubs goals. We don't want a manager here who is just looking for a short term holiday in Miami. We will continue looking at candidates, but as of now, there is still no manager of Miami FC.'

Miami FC announce David Beckham as a Director

'We're delighted to have David Beckham here as a director, he was one of the players I hated facing, as a defender he was so difficult to play against, his movement on and off the ball was fantastic. I look forward to working with David on a day to day basis and I am looking forward to see what ideas he can bring to the club.'

'I am delighted to join this club, Paolo Maldini is a man I have a lot of respect for, he was simply one of the best players I've ever seen. So of course when he asked me to be a part of this project, I accepted instantly, me, Victoria and the kids just flew out this morning and we look forward to our new lives in Miami. Of course I would love to start my own team, but it's not often you get to work with one of the greats like Paolo is it? I look forward to working with this club, and can't wait to see what this club achieves.'

David Beckham makes major announcement

'Despite only being here a week, I'm delighted to announce that Paolo has trusted me with making the decision on choosing who the new manager is. I was shocked when he asked me considering it is his club, but ultimately I want what is best for this team as well as him. I have a few candidates in mind, but one thing I can tell you at the moment is that the first manager of Miami FC will be an Englishman. I feel that English managers don't get enough credit in football, so I want to give one the chance out here to prove themselves. So any young English managers who want their first chance of managing a club, here's your chance. I am optimistic about any applicants and I look forward to seeing who fancies their chances at this job. I will reveal more in a future interview, but until then you can expect an appointment to be made within the week.'

Miami FC appoint Eddie Howe as manager #WelcomeEddie!

Beckham on Howe's appointment 'Eddie Howe is a great manager, what he did at Bournemouth will go down in the history of English football. So when he came to us, applying for the manager role we could hardly turn down that opportunity. We think Howe is the ideal man for the job, and the man that will bring this club glory. I formally welcome him to the club and wish him all the best.

Eddie Howe on his appointment 'Well I've always wanted to come and manage in the States and I saw this as the perfect opportunity to come and do that. Of course I will miss Bournemouth after everything I've done for that club, and I thank Bournemouth for everything they've done for me. This is an extremely ambitious club, headed by the likes of Maldini and Beckham, 2 of the greats of football, it was a no-brainer for me to come here. I look forward to meeting up with the lads next week, and I look forward to many successful years with this club. Come on Miami!
Great managerial appointment and a great start to this story mate, keep it up!

#WelcomeEddie!

So who is Eddie Howe?

Eddie Howe was previously the manager of Bournemouth FC, having spent most of his playing career there as well. He is famous for taking Bournemouth from League 2 to the Premier League all in 5 seasons. This led him to win the English Manager of the Decade award in 2015. This is his first appointment outside of English football but does that phase the man? Well let's find out:

'Na, managing outside of England doesn't phase me at all, Paolo has been bringing me up to speed with the way the NASL works before I meet the squad. I'm looking forward to this challenge and I know it will be tough one at first but I like to turn the clubs I manage into top clubs. I am confident I can turn this club into one of the best in America.'

Paolo, David and Eddie announce Kits!

'We're delighted with the way the kits have turned out, they may look simple but just coming up with this ideas took countless hours and we have to thank Macron for making these for us. We love the simple colors and the way that they go together, it's at this point that Miami FC has suddenly become a reality, we are now a proper football club, we can't wait for the season to get started and make the city of Miami proud.'

#ComeOnMiamiFC!
Wow great managerial signing. good luck for the season and nice kits

Howe meets the squad for the first time

'Yeah they seem like a good bunch of lads who have come here for the same reason as me. They want to make history with this club, and they want a chance to work with 2 of the greats of football. Of course I will be making some signings, Paolo wants to bring in a few players of his own as well. There are a few recognizable faces here, 1 being Wilson Palacios, but I want to bring in bigger signings, I've shown that I'm an ambitious man while I was at Bournemouth, but no I'm very happy with the squad I have at my disposal here and I look forward to working with them'

Key players of Miami FC

Wilson Palacios

Matuzalem

Adailton

'These 3 are the spine of our squad, all we need really is a top quality striker to make us a deadly team, I have a few targets in mind but nothing is confirmed as of yet.'
They're going to be a massive part of any success you have mate, best of luck!
Huge twist with Howe being manager, love what he did IRL with Bournemouth, hopefully you can have similar success! Some stellar signings there as well
Eddie Howe as manager? Got to love that choice. Love the kits as well.

Howe confirms first signing! #WelcomeArango!

'It's with great pleasure I welcome Jhon Arango to the wonderful city of Miami. I have no doubt Arango will turn into a fan favorite here. Jhon was someone I had on my radar at Bournemouth but could never get the work permits sorted. I'm delighted to welcome here to the wonderful city of Miami. Although he's young, I have no doubt he will be a starting member of our squad and who knows, he could become Miami's first legend. I can't wait for him to join up with the squad on the 18th of February.'

We here at Miami would like to #WelcomeArango and hope he has great success at this club.
