Diary Entry: 12th of July 2015.
Nice weather today.

Today marks the beginning of a new era in my life. I am thrilled to be writing into my diary for the last time before it becomes a "manager's log". I have had some good times writing in this subtle mole skin journal, recalling both the times where I was estatic, and the times when I was anything but.

I have actually not mentioned why I am giving up writing in you before, so I think the last few paragraphs that I write should be that. It's hard to give up something you have had so many experiences with, much like losing a partner - just less emotional and more sentimental.

So. I was tired of the rat race, I was tired of working from nine until five every day for a wage that could barely cover my London apartment's rent. I was tired of getting home and immersing myself in books wishing that somehow my life could be different. That is why I decided to try something new.

I have never been good at football, but I have always enjoyed watching it and delving deep into its analytical roots. I remember when I was smaller, my father would push me to play for a local team, but I was so adamant that I wanted to manage the team rather than play in it that I would dig my boots into the turf until he let me just stand on the sideline.

In my spare time, I have been working towards coaching badges. And during my training for them, I met a man. His name is Bill and he's from Stratford-Upon-Avon (I wonder how many people are actually called Bill or William in Shakespeares birth place?) and he is the chairman of Stratford Town football club. We got talking over a few beers and he invited me to come and watch the side play, and I was certainly impressed.

We did this a few times, and the last time we did Bill popped the question. He was not on one knee or anything, he simply looked me in the eye and said:

"So, when you've got your badges. Fancy managing these boys?"
Nice start to the story, good luck!
