Shock coming out of America today as the MLS as we know will no longer exist. However the sport of Soccer in America will continue following the NBA purchasing the rights to the MLS in what is being talked about as the biggest deal in sporting history overtaking the sale of the UFC at a reported cost of $5 Billion.

With Basketball being one of the most watched sports in America, this link between the sports could see the popularity spike in America.

Reports suggest that every NBA team will have an affiliate Soccer Team playing in the league and will be owned under the same franchise. The Rules will also be similar to NBA in the league with a team salary cap, reports are suggesting that the cap could be at $1,500,000 a week meaning that we could potentially see some stars coming to play in America in the near future. Money in the league will be enormous, with the huge sponsorship deals currently in the NBA looking to be used in the new Soccer league as well, plus a potential $50 million prize for the winners of the league.

Not much else has been revealed about the new league, but we can expect the league to be starting this summer, but a lot of work is to be done, with teams currently having no players, a lot of investment will be needed in the near future.

This change has got the world talking, and clubs worried that their star players may be tempted to join the American Revolution. But all the clubs will now be looking for new managers and staff meaning clubs will be looking to hold on to their staff as the season approaches.

Could this be the change needed for people around the world to start taking football in America seriously?
Wow wow wow. Huge news this, will be good to see how it develops!
Very interesting :D

Update on the new American League

More news has been released about the new league of American Soccer. The league will be split into an Eastern and Western Conference, like how the NBA and MLS are. However unlike the MLS, teams will only be playing teams in their conference unless they make it into a Champions Playoff.

Teams in the Western Conference:
Dallas Mavericks
Denver Nuggets
Golden State Warriors
Houston Rockets
LA Clippers
LA Lakers
Memphis Grizzlies
Minnesota Timberwolves
New Orleans Pelicans
Oklahoma City Thunder
Phoenix Suns
Portland Trail Blazers
Sacramento Kings
San Antonio Spurs
Utah Jazz

Teams in the Eastern Conference:
Atlanta Hawks
Boston Celtics
Brooklyn Nets
Charlotte Hornets
Chicago Bulls
Cleveland Cavaliers
Detroit Pistons
Indiana Pacers
Miami Heat
Milwaukee Bucks
New York Knicks
Orlando Magic
Philadelphia 76ers
Toronto Raptors
Washington Wizards

With the league now set to kick off in August, teams will now have 8 months to get a team together for the start of the season ahead. The world will be watching to see how this new league goes, and whether it will overtake China as the new money powerhouse. The world will be watching.

Houston Rockets the first team to confirm a manager

Houston Rockets are wasting no time in getting a team together for the upcoming season with hiring a new manager almost instantly after the league was announced.

Reports suggest that young 20 year old English manager Alex Hurd is set to be the man in charge for the first season. Hurd is set with a massive challenge with getting a whole squad together before the start of the season, but it is suggested that he currently has around £200 million to spend on getting this squad together.

Expectations aren't set that high, with the board only looking for a mid table finish at most, this very much looks like a long term building project for the new manager. The club have also hired their own backroom staff, leaving Alex with just the challenge of getting players in making his first job a little bit easier.
This looks very interesting! excited to see how this goes!

Houston Rockets confirm first 4 Signings

We at Houston Rockets are delighted to announce our 4 first signings since the formation of the club.

We are delighted to announce the signing of Alex Mowatt from Leeds United for a fee of around £7 Million. At the age of 19, Mowatt has a lot of promise and had already played 67 times for Leeds. We are certain he will be a key player for The Rockets for many years to come.

We are also delighted to announce the signing of Dani Osvaldo from Boca Juniors on a free transfer. We are confident the 29 year old will add key experience to our side and be a massive attacking threat for us over the coming years.

Our 3rd signing is Ryan Ledson for a fee of £2.5 million from Everton. Ledson is a highly rated youngster and has been captain of the England Under 21's. We are confident he and Mowatt will be key to our side in the future.

Last but not least, our 4th signing is Gaston Ramirez on a free transfer. His most recent spell was on loan to Hull City where he was a key player for their side, but it wasn't enough for him to earn a place at Southampton. We are confident though that he can be a key playmaker for us over the coming years.

We will be announcing more signings over the next few days as we look to get a squad together for the coming season
