From the Rink to the Pitch: Ilmari Hartikainen

Preseason has finally wrapped up for Ilmari Hartikanen and TPV. This was seen to be a harder part of the preseason with matches against two strong foreign clubs. Overall TPV finished the second half with a dismal 0-1-3 record. This record is not as bad as it looks due to the competition that they played.

"I would say the last eight matches have been a success and that this club is ready for league play. In the matches against higher quality teams the guys showed a lot of heart and dedication and I like that," said Ilmari Hartikanen after the 1-0 to KuPS.

Here are the results of preseason matchdays 5-8.






With the preseason complete TPV will now have a month off of competition and will be working hard on the training field for the upcoming Kakkonen B season. The first match of the season will take place on 18 April against local rivals Tampere United. Tickets are still available an start at €5 and can be purchased at the stadium box office or the TPV Clubhouse.

A first ever pre season in football was gonna be hard but once competitive action starts the results will turn around!

We are seventeen days away from the first match of the 2020 Kakkonen season and I thought I would recap the last several months in charge of TVP both in a professional and personal setting. This will be quite short but I have a feeling if I decide to do this again it won't be so short.

I feel this team was the perfect fit for me and I am enjoying my time here. I feel that starting my career in my hometown is the best thing to happen to me in football. I want to be here as long as possible. We had a great preseason and I did something for the club that nobody has done in ages, make money!!! With so many home matches and a few against bigger clubs the fans showed up and it helped generate more money than in previous seasons. The board is very happy with this!

Speaking about the preseason I received some heat for such a tough schedule especially in the second half. Well we did a great job in my opinion going 2-2-4 against some real tough teams. The guys did amazing against clubs like AIK and KuPS. I feel having a hard preseason gets us much better prepared for the season.

We start the season against local rival Tampere United. I feel we will dominate as they seem to be on the decline. Not sure about my starting line up but I know it will be stronger than what Tampere starts. We have so much firepower up front I am going to have to rotate all through the season.

Well it is time to wrap this up. Amanda has dinner ready and I am starving. I am so ready for this season to start!!!
