To celebrate the start of a new decade (yeah 2000-2009 is 10 years :P) let's look back at the best players, coaches and teams of the last decade. Since it would be too difficult to create individual polls for each just vote for them in this thread. At the end of all this let's put up the decade's best XI. Let's start out with the best Gks of the last decade.
Nominees: Edwin Van Der Saar, Gianluigi Buffon, Iker Casillas, Petr Cech, Peter Schmeichel, Andreas Kopke, Oliver Kahn

Side Note: No flaming and remember best of last decade means not guys who just appeared in the last 3 seasons. Oh and you can nominate someone who is already retired.

I'd vote for Cech, because if I was him I would have retired from football after the head injury.
Though I like Casillas as much, for becoming an indispensable part of R.Madrid almost since the beginning of his shiny career.
I don't like either Buffon or Van der Saar, but that's just me.

so you're telling me that buffon always had good amount of world class defenders in front of him(legrottaglie, andrade,zebina etc.) .... or van der saar who played in fulham (the team with the "best" backup) ....
I am going to vote for GK-Casillas - always liked him, amazing considering he never has had a great defence infront of him
CB- Japp Stam, as soon as he came into the light in holland national side and then when he moved to man u, i belive him to be man u best defender of the decade as well!
CB- Fabio Cannavaro- liked fabio for a while, he is a classical cb, strong and could read the game well
RB- Gianluca Zambrotta, typical itilian, flair and always like a chance to score, love his attacking and was always solid at the back when needed.
I would also like to say that i would vote for maldini at LB as when ever i would watch AC Milan i thought he played better in this position!
