Frank de Boer sacked!

In a shock turn of events, after just being appointed as manager of Inter Milan, Frank de Boer has been sacked after falling out with the hierarchy in a meeting at the San Siro stadium.

The reason as to why the Dutchman and the board had a disagreement is unclear but the club have announced that his contract has been terminated immediately and they are not looking for a new manager to take them through pre-season, and want to swifty appoint his successor.

Club Statement:

"Inter Milan have decided to part company with Frank de Boer after a meeting at the San Siro stadium. We appreciate the little work he did in his 2 weeks at the club, but it is clear his visions do not match ours and we are looking for a more ambitious manager to take the reigns.

Our deadline to appoint our new manager is the 9th July."

The bookies have placed Andre Villas-Boas as the early favourite at odds of 2/1, after he left his position at Zenit at the end of last season.

Inter interview three candidates

Sky Sources in Italy have confirmed that the Inter Milan hierarchy have interviewed three candidates out of a shortlist of five.

It is believed that one of the three candidates was former Inter Milan manager Jose Mourinho, who is looking for a way out of Manchester United, after falling out with Ed Woodward after his failings to reassure him of a budget of at least £200m to bring the United squad up to scratch.

Bookies favourite Andre Villas-Boas has also been interviewed, but it is thought that his shortcomings with Chelsea are proving to be a stumbling block and are slowly pushing him down the pecking order and his availability is thought to be attracting attention from Germany with Wolfsburg also searching for a new manager.

The final candidate is thought to be Leicester City's Claudio Ranieri, but he has recently been offered a new improved contract by Leicester and it is highly believed that he will soon sign that contract and despite attending an interview it is thought the Italian's heart is at Leicester after their fairytale title success.
Have a feeling Mourinho is on his way back to the San Siro here but it would be interesting to see Ranieri there, good luck mate :P
Where can we place bets on a Mourinho return? :D
