This should be the story of struggle, of hardship, of learning the ropes. This should be a tale of trying too much, too fast. This should be a warning to any managers jumping in the deep end before they've learned to do any more than dog paddle.

But it isn't.

This is a story that involves immediate success, but doesn't revolve around that. This is a story that includes excellent football, but that isn't what's important. This is a story that feeds us emotion, but the emotion isn't what you've come to expect.

This is a love story.

A tale of true love between a man some would call a legend. A man for whom the beautiful game has been a blessing and a curse. A man who's talent has gone unappreciated in this world. Me. Freddy Adu.

All of my hopes and dreams paled to insignificance at the sight of one man. One glorious, handsome, mastodonic Frenchman. Olivier Giroud.

My first game came. At home to Manchester United. Mourinho played his mind games and I was unsure, but he took me under his wing. His glorious, wonderful wing.

Olivier won Player of the Match. Olivier scored a hat-trick. Olivier carried me to glory.

I will love him for all my days.

And things would only get better...
