I'm trying to figure out what stat makes a player come to your club without editing it. I thought team reputation would do it but the player I wanted decided to sign for a team that had a 3000 reputation and my team which is 4650. Is there a stat that makes them more willing to move to another country which my team is in?
How close was your contract offer to the one that he ultimately signed?

Did the player sign for a team that's closer to home - similar languages spoken on the team, maybe similar geographic region?

Did the player have preferred staff/players on the team he signed for?

Those are a handful of factors I could think of off the top of my head.
the contract I offered was way larger but the team was closer to home. I'm just wondering what stat or if any decides if a player is more willing to travel abroad or not.
Adaptability should be such stat... but I think that has an effect after the player joins a team abroad and not when deciding contract offers.

I believe what's more important when a player decides on contract offers is:

1. the stature of the teams approaching him as a major factor
2. the actual contract offer (squad status, wage mostly, years on the table, sign on fee and appearance fee)
3. his happiness on his current team and if he joined there recently

I might be forgetting something, but that's what popped into my head now.

If the manager is a favorite??? as I always buy from my former clubs, and it says thay they apcepted the offer an are looking forward to work with the manager.
Favourite Club always helps and if any "favourite personnel" are at the club it will swing their decision
If you really want a player, make him an offer he can't refuse Godfather style, offer them a significantly higher wage and signing on fee than they ask for and they usually agree.
I think the two biggest factors would be club stature and geography, but this is just a guess from what I've seen in my game
Also if you are playing in a continental competition & if so which one. For example, a player would be more like ly to sign for a club playing in the champions league than one playing in the europa league, this can be the case even if the second team offer more money etc.
