Coming soon to Sky Sports...
Adam Walker, the former Southampton manager, has let us step inside his world of management with League 2 Blackpool. After being sacked from the Saints in 2018 due to new owners, despite winning the Premier League Manager of the Year award and guiding Southampton into the quarter-finals of the Champions League, Adam has taken, it's fair to say, some ill-advised positions, including those as the Swiss National Team manager and head coach of France's Under-21 team.
Since leaving Sheffield United after a poor run of form in the middle of the 2019/2020 season, Walker dropped down to the bottom tier of the Football League for the second time in his career. At just 22 years of age, Walker has had plenty of experience but is clearly looking to settle somewhere after years of insecurity in his profession.
He has arguably found that this season in Blackpool. Joining before the last game of last season, Walker has guided his team to 7th in the league, despite being early season relegation favourites. Key signings under heavy financial restraints have helped him massively, namely Anthony Stokes, who has scored 7 goals so far this term.
In this program, starting next week and continuing monthly, we will bring you exclusive interviews with Blackpool's players, coach and fans, casting their opinions on their youthful manager who is hoping to guide them to glory.
Adam Walker: The Young One, starting on Monday 5th October 2020
