Welcome to my first story everyone! Here you will see me managing Olympiakos. I decided to manage them not only because it was and will be my favourite club of all time, but also because of the bad season they have had this year... They have changed 4 managers since summer but now it's time for the 5th manager to take the mantle.

Lemonis Resigns from Olympiakos

Olympiakos manager Takis Lemonis announced his resignation from the Olympiakos post earlier this afternoon... According to the team's website the reasons that led into the decision are private. The Olympiakos board have stated this: "We have already found a replacement capable of managing Olympiakos and bringing success to the club, but he won't be revealed until in a few days". Many are suggesting that a Club Legend is the new manager while others suggest that he's someone famous from abroad. Also, there have been statements that fan favourite manager Ernesto Valverde is returning. We won't know until in a few days though so stay tuned...

New Olympiakos manager finally announced

The new Olympiakos manager has been announced after a few days of silence. Many fans didn't believe it at first but the new manager is Alex Vergos, the Greek-English Football legend. The ex-Greek national has won the Champions League two times with Barcelona. He has enjoyed a beautiful career winning the Ballon D'or twice and capping 45 times scoring 20 for his national team. Since graduating from the academy, he enjoyed a successfull spell at Olympiakos for 9 seasons (1999-2008) scoring 120 goals and then was sold to Barcelona for 65m pounds where he scored 83 goals in 5 seasons. There he also won the Champions League and the Ballon D'or two times (2009 and 2010). He retired after spending 2 years on Liverpool scoring just 25 in 2 seasons and stayed as a legend in the football legacy. As he stated in his Twitter account following the announcment: "I'm happy to announce that I am Olmypiakos' new manager. I hope to make you all proud".. In a few hours the press confrence on his arrival is starting. Stay tuned.

Thanks Infra. Much appreciated :D

Press Confrence

(The story will now continue from Vergos' point of view)

As I entered the Confrence Room I was feeling both nervous and excited. President Marinakis shaked my hand and told me not to be nervous because he thinks that I'll succeed. Then I sat in the chair and I realised that I was officially the manager of Olympiakos.

Mr. Vergos, you stand here being unveiled as the manager of your favourite club, the club that started everything, the club who made you who you are today.Since this is a dream come true for you, how do you feel?

This is a dream come true for me. Of course I feel very excited because this is the club that built my life and believe me when I say that I will never forget that.I have a very big dream for this club and I hope me and the lads can achieve it.

Do you share the same ambitions with the chairman, Mr. Marinakis?

I do. I think me and Mr. Marinakis have a similar dream for the club. I believe that we can work well together.

We've led to believe you're focused on the fitness side of football. What can you tell us about that?

I would like build a physically dominant team but I know that may not be possible. It is important for a footballer to be in a good physical state and I hope my players are and will be.

You were born here in Piraeus. Does that help the fans bonding with you?

I think that most fans trust a manager who is from close by because he knows how things work around here. Personally I agree that this helps the fans bond with the manager and vice versa.

Last season Olympiakos lifted the Superleague title for a 6th consecutive time. Do you see you and your team lifting it again and expanding this reign?

I believe that this team is very capable for lifting the title again. This dominance that Olympiakos has built won't stop here.

What is your priority this season and what are your ambitions for the future?

This season's priority will of course be the league title, since that is what the fans want. From the next season though I would also like to focus on European competitions as well. I know that sounds stupid but I really think that we have the quality and ability to go far.

What positions are you looking to strengthen out?

I think there is a good set-up here but I would like to strenghten out our defence.

After that, Mr. Marinakis said that the Press Confrence was over and that we would be available for more questions later.
Seems that Mr. Vergos goes the questionably tight tracksuit bottoms ey? ;) Good start buddy. Liked the interview and seems to me that you're ready to go for it this season! Olympiakos are a huge club that deserve success.
Jesus christ, Vergo's first purchase should be a better track suit :P But great beginning! Come on Olympiakos!
