My name is Stephen Barnes. I am an ex Sunderland AFC player. I retired in 2015 due to knee injuries. My family all live in Sunderland and I am in need of becoming a manager. I asked my agent Hector Suarez if he could find any club that wanted a manager of my qualities. Hector Suarez is my mexican agent who I met whilst on holiday in Miami. We became friends and he always knew that when I had done my coaching badges that I wanted a chance at the big time as a manager.

Hector came over to our house. I sat down and he explained" Stephen my friend. The English Premier League have no teams who are looking for a manager but how good is your spanish"

I replied "I am ok. Why Hector?"

Hector said " I have been speaking to Club America in Mexico and they are asking for you".

"Me, Why me?" I asked very unsure

Hector told me The president of the club José Romano has asked for my details. Club America are a big team in Mexico but they have sacked there manager Ricardo La Volpe. This was too good to be true. After a while the phone rang. It was José Romano.

My hands where sweating, pulse racing faster than an Indy car and I answered" Hello Mr Barnes speaking"

Romano" Hola Mr Barnes. How would you like to be manager of Club America" he asked

I replied but I sounded like I wasn't very happy" Yes please but I haven't managed a club as big as yours before". My last coaching was with Sunderland RCA a local lower league team.

It was agreed and we made the arrangements for me to take over. Now what do I pack for Mexico.
Vamos Redvee!!!!!

I have arrived in Mexico. It's hot and I am drinking more water than I usually do. I am looking forward to going to the stadium but I have to check in at the hotel Geneve. After I check in I changed into my suit and headed to the Estadio Azteca.

The Estadio Azteca was massive. As we drove in to the stadium, people where standing outside waiting to see there manager but I can't stop to sign autographs yet. I needed to get in and sign the paperwork then to meet the press and fans. A busy day for me and one I am enjoying. The owner Emilio Azcárraga Jean shaked my hand and I signed.

Emilio Azcárraga Jean said" I am proud to have Mr Barnes as our new manager" he said in english. All the press are wearing Interpretation headsets so they understand me. My spanish is very poor but I know some.

It was my turn to speak, I sat on my chair and looked at the press and I thought to myself, this is your chance, don't blow it. I spoke" Thank you very much sir. I am looking forward to managing Club America and hopefully winning the title".

After a few meet and greets. I signed the autographs. Tomorrow is when I meet my staff and players. I am also taking a list of players who are free agents and taking them to my hotel.

The day after I signed as manager of one of the biggest teams in Mexico. Club America are a team that are use to winning championships. Lets hope I can do them justice. I have made the front page of the leagues webpage.

Stephen Barnes ha sido nombrado gerente del Club América.
Barnes es de Inglaterra y tiene mucha experiencia

I read the page and I was really happy Looking through my list of free agents and one name popped up. Didier Drogba. The ex Chelsea,Montreal Impact and Ivory Coast international player. He has decided he is retiring at the end of the season. So if I can snap him up for free and for a season it is a great deal. I will try and email his agent and arrange things.
Good start mate, if you can attract Drogba to the club in his final year it would be some very good business from yourself. Good luck!
