Mammana Makes Free Move To Whitehawk

Whitehawk Snapped Up Argentine Defender Mammana On Free Transfer

01/07/2027

Just hours after Mbappé's move to Whitehawk was confirmed, the south coast club had confirmed yet another first team signing. Argentine defender Emanuel Mammana, who had seen his contract with Manchester United just expire, signed for Ryan Ferguson's side on a free transfer. The thirty one year old arrived on a three year deal, worth an estimated £125,000 per week.

Growing up in Buenos Aires, Mammana's career began with Argentina giants River Plate, a club which bred the likes of Javier Mascherano, Gonazalo Higuaín, Erik Lamela, Matías Kranevitter and Lucas Ocampos. The versatile defender made his debut in 2014, and went on to make 23 league appearances before moving to French side Olympique Lyonnais in 2016 for a fee of £6.5M.

The Argentine made an immediate impact at his new side, playing twenty seven times in his debut season in France, in all competitions. Mammana spent four years in France with Lyonnais, before moving on, having played a total of 146 appearances, and being named in the team's team of the season each of four times.

A move to Portuguese giants SL Benfica followed, costing £26,000,000. A fruitful three years in Lisbon produced 135 appearances for Mammana, where he won two league titles, and four other trophies. His stock as a defensive mastermind had risen, and a number of Europe's top clubs were vying for his signature in the summer of 2023.

José Mourinho's Manchester United allured the player to Old Trafford, for a fee of £35,500,000. In a team where competition was extremely fierce, Mammana impressed at the heart of the defence. In his four seasons at Old Trafford, Mammana mustered 152 appearances in all competitions, winning four trophies on the way.

Mammana began his senior international career with Argentina in 2014, in a friendly against Slovenia. He has since gone on to win 62 caps for his country, scoring his only goal against Bolivia in 2024.

At the age of 31, Mammana was relishing the opportunity of continuing to play at the highest level of football, and was excited by the prospect of playing for another title-chasing side.

Mammana Was A World Class Ball Winner With Years Of Experience

Emanuel Mammana:
"It is a great privilege to sign for Whitehawk Football Club. This club has a fantastic set of players, a genius of a manager, and the best supporters in the world. With a history that is still growing, anything is possible here at this football club and that is why I signed here.

I am now in my thirties, but that will not stop me from performing at my best. I am a player who still has fantastic physical qualities, but the most important part of my game does not depend on that. I have signed a three year contract here, and I believe I can contribute significantly at the highest level for even longer than that. I am not at the end of my career, nowhere near it. I hope to prove that in my time here."

Comment Section

MJK46, as fantastic a player as Mbappé is, I feel we already had a number of players of a similar, if not higher, quality to him. Anton Nyman, Kingsley Osagie, Franco Díaz, Erkan Aktaş & Facundo Foti were all world class players already at the club, and you will see what kind of quality they were in a few updates time, when a squad overview comes along. As a result, I don't think the signing of Mbappé could change my decision, he joined an already star-studded line-up.

ScottT, Fernando Torres scored crucial goals in a UEFA Champions League semi final and a UEFA Europa League final following a £50M move to Chelsea, so I hope Mbappé has a similar impact! :P

mgriffin2012, indeed it was a sign of the growth of the football club. We went from reluctantly letting go of £5.5K to sign Ollie Cole in 2017 to not even thinking twice about splashing out £50M on Kylian Mbappé in 2027. The difference ten years can make! :P

Whitehawk Snap Up Three More

Whitehawk Brought In Three Youngsters To Bolster Future Prospects

01/07/2027

With French forward Kylian Mbappé and Argentine defender Emanuel Mammana coming in on the first of July, Whitehawk proved to be even busier with three more players arriving at the beginning of the international transfer window. All three of the incoming players were eighteen years old, and arrived from outside of Europe.

Cléber Fernando and Victor of Brazil arrived from Santos FC and Flamengo, respectively, while Ameth Keita joined from Étoile Lusitana of Senegal. Due to Brexit, once again a big thank you to UKIP & all others involved in the decision, none of the players were applicable for work permits, meaning loan moves abroad were imminent for the trio.

Ameth Keita - MC

Ameth Keita Was Considered As The Future Of Senegalese Football

Full Name: Ameth Keita
Age: 18 (18/05/2009)
Nationality: Senegalese
Place of Birth: Dakar (Senegal)
Position: MC/AMC
Fee: Free
Signed From: Étoile Lusitana (Senegal)
Current Ability:
Potential Ability:

Ameth Keita joined Whitehawk as a major prospect of African football. The Senegalese midfielder had already made two appearances for his country's U20s side, and was expected to become a key component of the senior team in the future. His passing range and control of the ball was at the fore of his abilities, although his aggression was not controlled very well.

A lack of work permit would mean Keita would be sent out on loan for the upcoming few seasons, possibly at a feeder club such as RNK Split.

Ameth Keita:
"I am very happy to join a club of Whitehawk's stature. It is a great club where I can develop my skills. Sadio Mané and Henri Camara were the heroes of my country, and they both made it in English football. I hope to be able to do the same."

Cléber Fernando - AMC

Cléber Fernando Was Compared To Former Brazil Star Philippe Coutinho

Full Name: Cléber Fernando Galvão da Costa Souza
Age: 18 (01/06/2009)
Nationality: Brazilian
Place of Birth: Santos (Brazil)
Position: MC/AMC/AML
Fee: £5,500,000 (£7,500,000)
Signed From: Santos (Brazil)
Current Ability:
Potential Ability:

Cléber Fernando was one of Brazil's highest rated prospects. The attacking midfielder made his debut for Santos in 2025, at the age of 16, and made a grand total of 9 appearances for the club in 2027, recording an impressive 4 assists on the way. His ability on the ball, especially when it came to creating chances, had seen him likened to Philippe Coutinho, and he was expected to become a leading player of world football

Just like Ameth Keita, Cléber Fernando arrived without a work permit. This meant he would be loaned out for a few seasons, a number of clubs from Europe's top leagues interested in his services.

Cléber Fernando:
"I am delighted to be able to come to Europe to further my football education, especially with Whitehawk Football Club. It is a football club who has a track record of giving youth players the chance to grow and perform at the highest level, and I cannot wait to be involved in that. They are an exciting, title-winning team, and I hope to be a big part of that in the future."

Victor - ST

Victor Was Expected To Become A World Class Striker In The Future

Full Name: Victor Martins Moreira
Age: 18 (05/05/2009)
Nationality: Brazilian
Place of Birth: Rio de Janeiro (Brazil)
Position: ST
Fee: £5,000,000
Signed From: Clube de Regatas do Flamengo
Current Ability:
Potential Ability:

Victor arrived with a big reputation from Brazil. The former Flamengo striker had played twice for Brazil's U20 side, and scored three goals for Flamengo in 2027 before arriving at Whitehawk. His natural goal scoring ability, combined with his physical prowess, made him a lethal attacker.

Just like the others, Victor arrived with no work permit, and faced time out on loan as a result. A number of clubs had lined up loan moves for him, and he certainly would have had no problem attracting temporary moves.

Victor:
"I am very pleased to become a Whitehawk player. It is a club with great players, and some very talented young players. I arrive here with Cléber Fernando of Santos, and I hope to strike a fantastic partnership here with him in the future."

Comment Section

Yeah, I'm looking forward to having him in the peak of his career and I'm hoping he'll continue to prove his worth, even when his pace diminishes!

Squad Overview: 2027

A Look At Whitehawk's Squad Ahead Of The 2027/2028 Season

05/07/2027

A new season was upon Ryan Fergyson and Whitehawk, and there were a number of new faces in the squad as they prepared to mount their title defence, on all fronts. The signings of Kylian Mbappé, Emanuel Mammana and Miroslav Novakovic had given the youthful squad a much-needed experienced boost, but would some players have to make way as a result?

A number of the players listed below were also involved in the Under 23s side, while a large section were due to be loaned out to gain first team experience, or to play football elsewhere while they faced work permit issues in England. But, more on that later.

Key Points

  • There were a total of 33 players in both the senior squad and Under 23s capable of competing for us at the highest level. As stated previously, a number of players would be moved on either on loan, or permanently, to significantly cut down this figure.
  • The squad was a very young one, but many of these players had significant amount of experience. Anton Nyman was among these young players who had played key roles in the senior side during previous seasons.
  • Despite the high number of young players, there were also several older players in the ranks. Predrag Rajkovic, Daniel Bentley, Emanuel Mammana, Sergi Samper and Lewis Cook were all 30 years old, or older.
  • A total of ten players played across the attacking midfield positions. This number needed to be cut down before the beginning of the season.
  • A total of three players were home grown by club at Whitehawk. Seven other players were considered to be home grown in England, meaning ten players in total held home grown status for the nation.

Anton Nyman (MC)

Whitehawk's Global Reach

Whitehawk Chairman Danny Baxter Discussed The Club's Global Connections

05/07/2027

Danny Baxter: "A big thank you to all present here at this presentation of Whitehawk's growing stature. It is important to present how the football club stands in the world, to inform people of the connections the club has made over previous seasons, and how we are seen all over the world.

The club has grown significantly in recent years under the excellent stewardship of manager Ryan Ferguson, and this is certainly evident from our financial summaries. In terms of merchandising sales over the last year, the club brought in a net profit of over twenty two million pounds.

Much of this is down to the club's affiliation with many feeder clubs across the world, and you can find details of such affiliations attached to your presentation briefs. Our affiliations have produced successful results both economically, and in terms of football too. In fact, two of our most recent youth intake of young stars arrived from feeder clubs of ours. Sebastián Orlando and Paul Cox arrived from Vélez and Newcastle Jets respectively. We hope to further their football education here at Whitehawk while they stay with us, and should they choose to return to their former clubs in the future, we hope they have gained invaluable skills here first.

Whitehawk's Scouting Knowledge Covered A Significant Amount Of The World

We currently thirty scouts to help us gain knowledge of as much of the footballing world as is humanly possible. These thirty scouts have brought to us significant talents, which now dot our first team squad, and they have certainly an important part in young players with talent being found.

Our global reach, as a whole, is absolutely superb. We have a strong connection with world football, and I envisage it to only grow as the years go on. We are still a growing club, and we can continue to achieve success in the future, in the next few years, and even further on in our development."

MJK46, yeah he is a top keeper! I considered smashing our club record fee of £60M to bring in Donnarumma a couple of seasons ago, but Rajkovic has been nothing short of fantastic.

mgriffin2012, luckily it isn't the first squad overview I've done (as you can tell by the similarity in style to those of previous stories), so I was able to speed through it faster than you may think. It still took a very long while though! :P

Samper: Whitehawk Can Dominate Again

Whitehawk Will Tour North America During The Month Of July 2027

06/07/2027

Whitehawk Football Club had become a household name across the globe. A true dominant force of football in the twenty-first century. Three UEFA Champions League titles in a row confirmed that. Nobody could close to them when they performed at their best, that was an undisputed fact.

Ahead of yet another Champions League, and Premier League, defence, Whitehawk would tour North America to compete in a number of pre-season fixtures. A visit to Deportivo Toluca in Mexico, as well as New York Red Bulls and Real Salt Lake of the USA, with a game against Swansea in San Diego in the middle, awaited the European champions in the North American continent.

Whitehawk's return to England would bring one final friendly, against feeder club Blackburn Rovers, prior to their FA Community Shield tie against Manchester City at Wembley. Whiethawk would then face a trip to Watford to kick off their Premier League campaign, before contesting the UEFA Super Cup with Arsenal at Via del Mare in Lecce, Italy.

Spanish midfield international Sergi Samper signed for Whitehawk last summer from domestic rivals Manchester United for a fee of £5,000,000, and he was confident of Whitehawk's chances of negotiating more trophy victories in the new season.

Sergi Samper:
"Last season was a terrific moment for the football club. We won many battles and lifted many trophies, with some truly great memories created in the process. We were successful on every front, and lifted every trophy we competed for.

Next season will prove to be more difficult, I expect. Our opposition will be more determined than ever to put us to the sword, and we expect some extremely stern opposition. We will be prepared for this, though. Some truly world class players have joined this football club already and have given us the strength to continue our domination on every front. We have the confidence and the ability to keep marching on.

I'm excited by the trip to North America. We travel to Mexico first, where we will be facing a team that dominated the Mexican league in the late 1990s, early 2000s. We then get to play football in New York, San Diego and Utah, against some very strong opposition. This will put us in good stead for the upcoming competitive season.

It is great for us to have the opportunity to connect with fans across the world, and this tour will present us with the opportunity to share some great memories with those who cannot travel to our games in England and Europe. We cannot wait to engage with them both on the pitch and off of it, and we hope to not disappoint them with our efforts."

Pre-Season Fixtures

Whitehawk Play Four Games In A North American Pre-Season Tour

Whitehawk's first pre-season fixture was to be played on 10th July against Deportivo Toluca of Mexico at Estadio Nemesio Díez. This was to be followed by trips to New York, San Diego and Sandy to play against New York Red Bulls, Swansea and Real Salt Lake. A final friendly fixture against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park would await Whitehawk.

MJK46, I'll keep you posted on how they get on! :P And thank you, I honestly did not expect to come out on top with so many quality stories in the poll. Anybody could have won, and it would have been a deserved victory!

mgriffin2012, that has always been the plan when considering how to improve the club's reach - to create links which stretch globally! Thank you very much but, as I said above, anybody could have won that poll, and deserve the victory!

Whitehawk Duo Moved On

Midfielders João Félix & Brahim Díaz Became Whitehawk's Latest Departures

14/07/2027

Just one year after signing for the European giants, Portuguese playmaker João Félix and Moroccan star Brahim Díaz found themselves moved on from Whitehawk. The pair departed for Zenit Sankt-Petersburg and Watford respectively, commanding a total fee of £44,000,000.

The two sales follow the arrival of attackers Kylian Mbappé and Mirsolav Novakovic, with manager Sir Ryan Ferguson expected to alter the way his team operates in attack. The two players brought in to take the places of the departed Félix and Diaz were sought for their goal scoring repertoire, rather than the creative genius of the two departures.

Brahim Díaz Scored 9 Goals In 34 Whitehawk Appearances

Full Name: Brahim Díaz Abdelkader
Age: 27 (03/08/1999)
Nationality: Moroccan
Place of Birth: Unknown (dun dun dun.....)
Position: MC/AMC/AMR
Fee: £23,000,000
Sold To: Watford Football Club (England)
Current Ability:
Potential Ability:

Brahim Díaz joined Whitehawk one year previously in an £11,750,000 deal from Everton Football Club. The attacking midfielder came in to play a rotation/back-up role, and contributed enormously when called upon. The Moroccan started 15 times, appearing as a sub in 19 more. He was industrious in his appearances, scoring an impressive 9 goals and assisting 4 times from a regular right attacking midfield position.

The arrival of Miroslav Novakovic, a player well capable of playing on the right, spelled an early end to Díaz' Whitehawk career. Watford were eager to land the Moroccan, and paid a fee just under double what Whitehawk paid for him a year ago.

Brahim Díaz:
"I am very thankful to Whitehawk for giving me an unforgettable year at the very pinnacle of club football. They gave me the opportunity to lift many trophies, and to learn from some of the world's best footballers, and I leave with nothing but positive memories."

Potential Ability:

João Félix joined one year previously to increase the depth in attacking midfield. The Portuguese creative attacker proved his ability in his maiden year at the club, scoring 12 goals and assisting 7 times in 43 appearances in all competitions. The Portuguese attacker was confident from set-pieces, and even scored three penalties.

The arrival of Kylian Mbappé brought increased competition to the attacking midfield areas, and Félix was the weakest of a very strong bunch. He had to make way, and Zenit came in with an offer greater than the fee paid for him by Whitehawk.

João Félix:
"I am very happy to have signed for a fantastic club in the form of Zenit. They are a strong club at the top of the Russian game, and they possess the ability to challenge for European honours. I had a great time at Whitehawk, but I feel my talents were not fully appreciated by the manager, and I hope to prove him wrong in the future."
