Well done all the hard work seems to be paying off in the league, unlucky in phase 2 though, good luck for the next season.
I love a bit of last day drama, always gives you that nail-bitting tension. However you still qualified and that's what counts. good luck for next season :wink

Life In The Premier Division

Hey there old friend, sorry I haven't been to chat in awhile. I gotta admit I've been kept real busy this current season, it has been a pretty interesting season for me so far and I guess it's about time I filled you in.

Let's start at the beginning, I signed a number of players this season, the highlights of which are a Uruguayan striker, Christian Gonzalez (yes, we can register foreign players in this league!) and a youngster defender named Rahmad Prasetyo which caught my eye on trial's day.

Christian is a 38 year old striker who runs slower than me, and let me tell you I haven't worked out in about ten years. He is a fat bastard, weighing in at 76 kilos! And I'm paying him $475 p/w!!!

But this is all redeemed because of his amazing skill on the ball, he is a true South American!

[IMGw]http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y177/saplingg/christian.png[/IMGw]

Compare that to my next best striker, who is considered by my assistant a "good player for Premier Division football".

[IMGw]http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y177/saplingg/fandhi.png[/IMGw]

Not bad, eh? If only he could run a little faster.

Oh and let me show you the defender I told you about.

[IMGw]http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y177/saplingg/rahmad.png[/IMGw]

He is quite the beast, I wish I could trade some of his speed for some of Christian's skill.

Those were the highlights of my transfers this season, and we got on with a bang, taking the first 3 games with solid wins. I was amazed, sitting at the top of my group with 9 points and a 6 point goal difference, I thought if we kept this up promotion was a possibility.

Well it was just false hopes, because we went on a 9 game winless streak after that, I don't know what I did but the universe must really hate me to fuck around with my feelings like that. I can't complain though, because those 3 wins at the start of the season could save us from relegation this year.

Here's the league table so far,

[IMGw]http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y177/saplingg/leaguetable2013.png[/IMGw]

I've got one last game tomorrow against Persidago.

If you'll take a look at the league table you'll see that we're sitting barely in 7th place, with Produta right under us and Persiram 2 points away.

In this league, the top 2 spots qualify for the second phase, and the bottom 3 teams are relegated. The 9th position qualifies for a relegation playoff, meaning the three 9th placed teams in the three groups of the league play against each other, and the winner of the playoff gets to stay in the Premier Division. Not good odds if you ask me.

Now what this means is this - if we lose the next match and Produta gets a point, and Persiram wins their fixtures, we are FUCKED!

If we draw, and Produta wins and Persiram wins by more than 4 goals, we are FUCKED! (a 4 goal win is unlikely, but still possible.)

If we win, we are safe.

We need a win tomorrow!!!

We are playing against Persidago, who we've met thrice before.

[IMGw]http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y177/saplingg/pastmeetings.png[/IMGw]

We've not lost to them before, but if we lose now I will flip a shit!!!!!
Last day drama AGAIN. Lets hope u stay up. This has to be the only story i have ever followed.
i like this story, vey interestin to hear about a league i have no knowledge of :)
also cristan has accelaration and pace of 1? haha that is hilarious, my nan could outrun him
Even funnier is the fact that he has 1 stamina which means he'd probably collapse after sprinting a couple of meters xD
Fackman - Man Utd : Even funnier is the fact that he has 1 stamina which means he'd probably collapse after sprinting a couple of meters xD

You're giving the player too much credit. I bet he gets winded walking onto the pitch! :D
do you think he gets other players to give him a piggyback to the penalty box, and tht is not fair because he is quite the whale
I heard SI was making a new animation for "kicking the ball while lying down", specially for him

In all seriousness though he's the top scorer for my team this season, which just goes to show you the standard of the league I'm playing in I guess :D

Do you actually like have to take him off after 30 mins? Or does he just sit there in the box waiting for an attack? :p

Pre-Season 2014/2015

We ended last season on a great note, winning our final match and keeping our place in the Premier Division.

As the pre season activities get back in order, I've got a lot to talk about.

First off, let me tell you about my new assistant manager! I found this gem without a job and was surprised because he has amazing coaching ability!

[IMGW]http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y177/saplingg/coachnizam.png[/IMGW]

Unfortunately he is not so great on the man management side of things, but I think that's ok, he is fantastic.

Anyway, I managed to keep my spot in the Premier Division, make a 17% profit of my turnover, and I've secured some massive transfers this season.

[IMGW]http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y177/saplingg/transfers2015.png[/IMGW]

Fajar Saputra and Faisol Abdillah have been with us for 3 seasons so far already, and we finally managed to sign them when their contracts ended.

Arifin Erwin is the first loan I've ever paid wages towards since I came to Kendari, and if his market value is not a good enough indicator, go ahead and compare him with my next best right back.

[IMGW]http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y177/saplingg/erwinarifin-1.png[/IMGW]

[IMGW]http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y177/saplingg/setiawan.png[/IMGW]

And he's two years younger!

Another star would have to be Roni Basri, who is the best midfielder on our team, got him on a free as well and he's young which is great.

[IMGW]http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y177/saplingg/ronibasri.png[/IMGW]

Up front we found a young striker who will hopefully be ready to dominate the league when current slowpoke Christian's legs fall off in a season or two.

[IMGW]http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y177/saplingg/mahmadsoputan.png[/IMGW]

We also have Edi Suwondo who is fantastic, another youngster who caught my eye on Trial's day, him and Rahmad Prasetyo (my current 17 year old speed demon) should make a great pairing.

[IMGW]http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y177/saplingg/edisuwondo.png[/IMGW]

We also got two young new goalkeepers and I think we are looking strong this season!

I've reworked my tactics to a narrow 41212 diamond, the same as Chelsea, speaking of which, if I ever get a job there I might have to fire Ashley Cole and sleep with his wife.

[imgw]http://celebrityandworld.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/cheryl-cole.jpg[/imgw]

This new tactic should give us a more balanced game and I made this change as I'm more confident of my ability to control the play slightly more with a more talented team. Also of note is that we are the best passers in the league! Hopefully we will be able to play some beautiful football this season, we'll see.

Top of the World

[IMGw]http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y177/saplingg/leaguetable2015.png[/IMGw]

[IMGw]http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y177/saplingg/fixtures2015.png[/IMGw]

After a solid performance in the first half of the season, we emerge the frontrunners of a closely matched Premier Division league.

Just a reminder, the top two teams from every group + the two next best teams in the league qualify for the second phase, making 2 groups of 4. The top 2 from each group in the second phase are promoted to the Indonesian Super League (and compete for the Premier Division title).

This marks the difference in strategy between the First and Premier Division - in the past seasons, it was enough to capture a draw against my toughest rivals, as long as at the end of the season they were below me on the group ranking. Whereas in my current league, I need every point I can get.

As of now group B is the strongest, with Persikabo topping the league with 32 points from 14 matches.

We've got a tough fixture list for the next three months, with Produta FC and Persiba Bantul away, they are the fierce competitors in our group, if we can secure at least 3 points from those fixtures I think we have a shot this season, a win against Produta tomorrow would give us a solid 4 point league against our group rivals, and put us in good stead for qualification.

I really hope we can keep our form up, promotion this season would really do wonders for my team and my career.

After the several farces in my career at Kendari regarding my ambitions, it would blow everyone away if I could secure promotion to the Super League and honestly I couldn't give two shits about what the critics say but my players know that I've got big dreams, and I think on some level they can commiserate with my actions because of that. After all, I see the same hunger for success in their eyes as I do in mine.

Hopefully that hunger will be enough to drive us to the top.

PRODUTA DEFEATS A LACKLUSTRE KENDARI UTAMA

17 Jan 2015 -- A fateful 1-0 victory for Produta FC today as Kendari Utama failed to test them at all. Kendari Utama had their fair share of possession, but struggled to get the ball forward and passed poorly, a surprising performance from the otherwise refined football that Singaporean manager Abraham Tan has spurred them towards.

"There is a team that Abraham has built for the past 5 years, a team that plays skillful and fluid football. We've grown to love that team, but they didn't show on the pitch today. The technique was poor and the plays lacked creativity", said Michael Budiyanto, support spokesperson for Kendari Utama FC.

An equally disappointed Abraham Tan commented after the match, "I have to apologize to the fans who followed us here today. We didn't play football, and we didn't match up to my expectations. But we have seen time and again that we can come from behind, and I think this loss is a temporary setback. There are still games to be won, and if we have proved anything at all in the past years it is that we are capable of defying all the odds.

Kendari Utama were not expected to be anywhere near the top of the league this season, but a stunning string of good form has surged the relegation candidates into the battle for second phase qualification.

This loss sees them drop to second place.

ABRAHAM DECLARES KENDARI UTAMA LOSS "A DISGRACE TO FOOTBALL, SPORT, AND INDONESIA IN GENERAL"

25 Jan 2015 -- Abraham was left red in the face after today's Kendari Utama's 0-1 home loss to PSBI. He went into the match with guns blazing, piling perhaps too much pressure on his players as he declared the match a "non-contest", describing today's match up as "easy peasy lemon squeezy".

However, after a 15th minute own goal by star defender Edi Suwondo, Abraham was not so confident.

An inside source from the Kendari Utama dressing room has told us that "Abraham was on his knees, pleading with his players." He is alleged to have cried during the half time team talk.

With the Indonesian Premier Division first phase drawing to a close, Kendari Utama sit precariously in second place with 29 points, and a poor run of form at this point could easily shatter all promotion hopes for the headstrong team.

Christian Gonzalez, Kendari's Uruguayan striker said to the press after the match, "I didn't score a goal today but I can feel one coming on soon. We can't rush it."

Mohd Nizam Lim, Abraham's assistant coach, shrugged off the loss. "Personally I think PSBI's green jersey should be banned. There is a complete colour clash with our green pitch. Nobody said camouflage was allowed, or I'd have ordered invisibility cloaks by now."
